Why dont you google and go and read the OFFICIAL guidance for dependent visa... it quite clear and then come back if you have any specific question

That way you are adequately informed of the end to end process .

justwise:

That is not the final cost of that ticket, by the time you proceed the actual cost of that ticket will show up.
It is the final cost of the ticket. But it is non-flexible.

Please @mimilyrics I understand you. What VPN do you recommend as the one I have only allows me pick foreign i cannot choose Nigeria. Or... should it be upon my exit I can set it up?

mimilyrics:
I will try to break it down as much as I can. I hope it helps.

You can only open Monzo and Starling accounts once you're in the UK because you'll need a UK phone number and address.

Transfer wise is an app that you can use to transfer money across different countries. If you don't download a VPN app / service (VPN - Virtual Private Network - allows you to use IPs that mask your location and shows IPs from other countries making it seem like you're in a different country), the Transfer Wise app will automatically select your location as UK (for example) and you'll only be able to transfer from the UK to other countries and not the other way round because of your IP address.

Dorm account is your $£€ account in Nigeria. You can usually transfer to foreign accounts via online banking or by sending an instruction to your bank or account manager to do this. This will be subject to any restrictions that your bank has in place.

BDC is Bureau De Change aka black market sometimes. They usually take your Naira while they transfer the £ equivalent to your UK account.

But if the above still seem complicated, just carry cash on you and open an online account that you can pay your money into as soon as you arrive and sort your phone number and address. You can always open account(s) with a brick and mortar bank after you get your BRP and are settled.

Received a call from DHL 21st September that I have a package..
Special thanks to everyone on this platform, I remembered when I came on here asking questions on how to get UK admission with third class. Even some people were arguing on here that management courses are just wasting of time, cheap/cockroach degree, one year holiday in the UK.all I have to say is thank you for the advice..
I really appreciate your effort @Lagosismyhome @hosey @skymoore and the olori ebi @justwise I pray may the almighty God answer your silent prayers

I use a VPN when buying Lagos to London tickets and change my location from Nigeria to the UK.

Previously you usually get lower prices when you buy your tickets from the UK as opposed to buying from Nigeria, except that you have to pay with your card, which is no longer feasible with Nigerian cards.

In any case, prices on BA's website for 2nd week of October are down to tolerable levels ($410 for a one-way ticket to Manchester/Aberdeen, about 160k), and I just bought earlier today.

$410?, are you sure about this? Was that the final price? Or that was before tax and carriage fee

..[their is no need to worry all you have to do is send them a mail that your application is still at DMC, they will revert asap to notify on what to do once you get your visa, you can mail them with your university email addy, the only thing you need to sort out before 25th is your fee payment plan you need to add your card details and choose a payment plan or make payment in full before the 25th deadline. i'm also going to napier and this was what i did, i hope this helps cheers

Its Napier Uni. I have completed the online matriculation and was able to access lectures online but they require a copy of the vignette and or BRP latest by 25th of Sept. I have emailed them and await their feedback.

My Uni asked for the same thing. Mail them your documents checklist to show you have a pending visa decision. Aside the most genuine reason of visa delay which is due to no fault of yours, it makes no sense to require physical presence in the UK or anywhere else given the current pandemic.

Teesside University also has the option of spreading the course for 2 years, with placement.

The only thing is that the fees increases to 15,000

But the first year fees is 7,500. So you can only pay for the first year only. Also you get a scholarship/discount of 1,500 / 2,000 So you might be left to pay either 6,000 or 5,500
