Loan with option to buy in a year? Must the offer compulsorily be an outright sale?

UPDATE: GOT SOMEONE ALREADY............ THANK YOU!

I have a Toks Toyota Camry 04 Model available for sale but I'm contemplating on whether to register it for Uber or Not.

How profitable is this business?

I feel I could contribute and assist anyone interested in this Uber business by hiring the lucky person to drive the car while they remit money to me weekly?

Is this a good idea? I am concerned, please find the thread of the ride here https://www.nairaland.com/5212768/toks-toyota-camry-03-04

Everything is working perfect and I might just decide to register it with Uber if I get a positive response.

You can reach me on this line if you are interested Call/WhatsApp

Can I imagine... Currently somewhere around meiran rd and I got this request showing long distance. 300m away I quickly drove to pickup. Called rider:

R: Good evening, is this uber?
Me: yes please you requested for a ride in outside.
The background with children's voices
R: Sorry, I'm going somewhere on Friday so I said i should try it.
Me: interrupted, oh so you're carrying out a test run?
R: yes... Teying to say something

Me just cut phone no time. Waited 5min and cancel butbi dropped a message for him b4 doing that.

Please i need everyone's opinion on this issue; a friend brought it to me and i need your help please.

A friend of mine is on HP, 2007 Corolla for 2.5 million naira for 2 years. Car was naija used, but very clean, just about 4 month registered.

14 month gone and he has paid about 1.3 million; he had an accident two month ago with the car.

Fortunately, the car was comprehensively insured by the driver (Please note that it was a 3rd party that was done by owner) but the driver insisted that comprehensive is best for HP, so the driver used his own personal money to fully insure the vehicle. All repairs was done by insurance, car was even painted.

It took insurance 7 weeks to repair the vehicle, but immediately the car was fixed, the owner just seized it that he's no longer interested in HP, and that the driver should pay 1 million and take the car; because he will be travelling soon. My guy is totally confused, he cant raised such amount and car is still with owner. My friend is afraid owner might sell and japa, since he wants to travel out of the country. Please, i need your advice, not just from the point of driver, also from owner's perspective. Please help!

O boy calm down and fi ara buruku bale.
You just gave the naive rider a negative experience about the e-hailing.

There is always a first timer which the rider happened to be, and you could have explained to the him that he could only request when he is ready, and politely ask him to cancel the request.

All these your attitude reek of an immature adult that still needs training.

If there was a written agreement, let him take it up, he will surely win.
He(owner) is surely defaulting in the agreement.

There should be a clause in the contract that covers for accidents and force majeure. Revert to it and there-in lies your answers.

P.S HP agreements always favor car owners.

Hello Good People.

I am trying to do Uber registration but it has been difficult. My documents keep being rejected and I am not sure why. Particularly my road worthiness for now.

Although it is not the original, it is re-printed and it of course carries a Private Vehicle Tag. Could these be the reasons for the rejection.

It is very frustrating. Please help a brother out.

Thanks.

It is very valid and issued in Lagos. Like I said it is the re-printed copy and I am informed that they do accept the re-printed copy.

Someone advised me to visit their office physically. I hope that helps. They may not open tomorrow, till Friday.

God! This is sad.

With the accident, and not remitting any thing per week as stated in the contract or agreement (which is a must), your friend have defaulted the agreement and the agreement shall be determined and vehicle recovered EXCEPT it was stated in the agreement that "in the case of severe accident, the hirer can be graced to stop paying till the vehicle is repaired and fully restored" or something related to that clause sha, but i doubt it would be there.

Now it will take God and a good owner to pardon the hirer due to the "accident". But this owner in question is not. You have to plead with the owner or raise anything up to 600k. The owner might reconsider.

God will help you
