North Korea is a reclusive state as are its leaders. Much of what we know of the country is based mostly on oral evidence and accounts of defectors. The people fleeing the oppressive regime of the Kims have a way of embellishing their stories to make them believable and attract empathy from sympathetic outsiders. I'm not saying it's all rosy inside North Korea but in a state in which Western intelligence hardly operates, it will be difficult to fully ascertain what truly takes place inside that country. Even foreign journalists and tourists coming into North Korea often get shown a different version of North Korea.

Thanks, people who get all their news from CNN will believe this trash, how can NK have nuclear weapons feared by the West, precision guided missiles and hack US computers if all those were true?
A starving person can not do all the above.
Common sense is not common

Considering that a large chunk of their economy goes to their nuclear programme.......

The Kims funnel a lot of the money they earn to thir nuclear programmes...

Also, what they have is a nuclear bomb, they don't have the tech to trnasfer it to a missile yet.

In 1973, china's gdp per capita was less than that of sierra leone, and yet, china then had nukes. Creative spending....

Hacking is easy...after all Nigerian hackers exist....and Nigeria is poorer than the usa...plus these hackers are considered part of NK's defence. hus they get a lot of money and perks. They are part of the elite of the country....kind of like very well paid workers. Outside the elite bubble, most NK'ers live in abject poverty.

8; The North Korean diet includes tree bark and grass
Food shortages in North Korea are so severe, the people occasionally have to resort to desperate measures simply in order to survive. One popular way of making it through the year is to introduce ‘wild foods’ to the diet. Wild foods are just as they sound: if getting hold of store-bought goods isn’t an option, there are foods that North Koreans can simply pick up naturally. Such things as wild grass and poisonous mushrooms and plants have been known to make already-starving North Koreans seriously ill.

If the world truly love North Korea citizens as they claim, they should appeal to USA to lift some economic sanctions slammed against the country. No country can survive on her own, not even mighty USA. You punish, impoverish and cripple a country because it has a nuclear weapon (North Korea) or because it is allegedly developing a nuclear weapon (Iran) and they still have that weapon or still allegedly developing it. What problem has those sanctions now solved? I don't get it at all.

4. You’re only allowed to date someone if you plan on marrying them
Many things that we take for granted in the West, North Koreans are not allowed to do. This includes things like public displays of affection (including hugging and kissing, even for marries couples,) getting tattoos and having piercings.
North Korean men expect their brides to be chaste and to have been in no previous marriages. They must also be without child.
In the DPRK, if a woman gets divorced then it is always her fault and as such, she has very little chance of ever finding another husband. Domestic violence is not frowned upon and many men who abuse their wives will be supported by the government.
Again, Kim Jong-un gets a free pass to do what he likes with women. Female defectors from the country have described how school girls are pulled out of high school and taught how to become sex slaves and pleasure the notorious leader.

Blackmail
Defamation
Western propaganda........

Must you people always be quick to condemn a sovereign state because they are not into your governmental Ass-licking of the US.

I'm not sure if you even understand why things are like that in North Korea. May be you think it is a punishment, lol. Well, it's not. That's what decades long, multi layers and toughest of the toughest economic sanctions would do to any country. Sorry dear

Just like hitler said l, if you want to conquer a race, gradually take away their rights, soon they would think their lack of rights is normal. Thats what their leaders are doing.

And the sanctions, if north Korean leaders can just behave well they would not be sanctioned, the reason why they were sanctioned in the first place is because of their fat overgrown baby sex addict of a leader, i heard he was in coma and a plot involving his sis trying to kill him

Choice of the profession of an individual is decided by the government based on the country's needs. Those who do not comply are sent to concentration camps for forced labour.

North Korea cuts power every night due to the energy crisis in the country. Using electricity needs permission and owning a microwave is illegal.

In 2008, citizens were asked to give their stools to help with agriculture when South Korea suspended fertilizer supplies.

Mothers are not allowed to give birth if anyone is around and must go into labour alone. They are not allowed to meet their family or even husband for a week after giving birth. If triplets are born, they are given to the state as there are reportedly concerns over low birth rate in North Korea. They are returned on reaching four years of age.

Better than in Nigeria where poverty and zero concern from the government will make the husband to run away from home forever!

this op has been brain washed by google and American media, they eat grass just like we eat leaves, they have their own culture and their own system of government different from democraxy and it doesnt make it stupid, their women use their body to get rice just like our prostitute here and every where does, North korea is better than Nigeria interms of technology, public infrastructure, education and human services which is why today many south koreans who had left thing the south will be better wants to go back... north korea is better than the south in all wise except for freedom and democraxy.... if i am to chose, i will always chose a regional sytem of government than the democraxy in nigeria, a place where the rich keep getting richer from the poor and with democraxy nothing could be done..if it were in north korea, i will understand its our system of government...tbe only country with less or no corona case... the country that never went for a days lock down... keep deceiving yourselves... they enjoy life better than us

You heard wrongly. The sanctions were already in place long before "the kid with a nuclear button" became the country's leader. And it has to do with two things: nuclear weapon and their economic/leadership system

Very weird country to live in.

Financial goals for 2020 and beyond:

Financial goals are things everyone craves for, and so here is a very interesting exercise for you. Take a sheet of paper and write the word
“Financial Goals” at the top with today’s date.

Then, make a list of your top 5 financial goals that you would like to achieve before the year runs to an end. Write your financial goals in the present tense, as though a year has passed and you have already achieved them. Begin each goal with the word “I” to make it personal to you. By making out a list of 5 goals for yourself, it gives you the added incentive to pursue it.

After you are done with the writing, paste the goal in a visible place like your wardrobe or mirror. Somewhere you can be seeing it every day. It becomes a constant reminder. Carefully work towards each of the goals and tick when achieved.
Here’s a sample you can modify and make use of

1. “I want to be saving a minimum of ……… in my Savings Account monthly”. Saving for a rainy day is very important if you hope to lay a good foundation for the future. There would always come a time when an emergency may pop up that may require some urgent cash. You can equally save for your children’s education or to do a special project.

2. I want to start making budgets and stick to it. Drawing up daily, weekly and monthly budgets is a good method of achieving your financial goals for 2020. What budget helps us to achieve is that it makes one avoid unnecessary spending.

3. I want to pay off all my debts before the year runs out. If you are indebted, it weighs you down mentally and each time you remember your debts, the desire to pursue your financial goals diminishes.

4. I want to develop at least 2 financial skills to improve my income this year. There are several financial skills one can develop to aid one’s income. Popular skills to consider are Negotiation, Critical thinking, Presentation skills, Accounting/management, Organisation/ Time management, problem-solving.

5. I want to create at least 2 or 3 multiple income streams before the end of this year. This is very vital, as a single income stream cannot enable you to achieve your financial goals. Your second income stream can be connected to something you are passionate about and can convert into a business.
The most important part of implementing your financial goals for the year is to ensure that you stick to it no matter what.

This year has started so roughly with the negative impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on businesses, but you can still achieve your financial goals if you put in the extra effort
