Hmm. Those explanations are hmm — the true meaning is deeper than that.

Frustration is not an achievement - depression is.
When you are frustrated, you feel annoyed, probably your actions are hindered or critized. For example, a student seeking for admission for almost six years may be frustrated because his actions (the process undertaken to get admitted) is hindered probably because of his low score in jamb or other reasons. He or she is already frustrated and don't plan going forward again. That's not an achievement since his goal is not actualized.

Most times, depression might set in, when a person is depressed as a result of initial frustration that have set in, he may go for other relative option to relieve him of his depression. Take for instance, the same scenario of the young man who have seeked for admission for almost six years is already frustrated, now when depression sets in and he feels hopeless. He may pick up a handiwork skill to learn so as to fend for himself. This he considers an achievement. He thinks possessing a handiwork skill is an achievement for him since he didn't get admission. Although this achievement may feel interior but yet to him, it's still an achievement because depression has already set in.

Whether he paid for solution or question isn't even my problem, what I hated was he paid the guy peanuts.

I doubt if what he paid was upto 7k. The boy even claimed he did not keep to his other end of the bargain.

I didn't know Nnewi doesn't have a strong Airtel network — in fact, they don't use Airtel.

The first thing I bought was 200k and when it was time to transfer the money, the young man told me we need to climb upstairs to get signal.

I followed him and there was 1 bar on Airtel (which I was to use to receive OTP).

I took his account details and did everything, but the OTP refused to come because of poor network. Sadly, the Airtel Network finally disappeared for life and changed to emergence.

For the browsing, I was using MTN which had 3 bars or so.

After waiting for network to some minutes, he said we should use a POS, but I refused because withdrawing 200k via a POS will be 100 Naira per 5k. Do the math.

I can't waste money like that. "No, I know the guy, you'll only give him 500 Naira," the seller said. "Why not we use the bank/ATM?" I told him, but he said it will waste time and so on.

"Okay," I agreed and he carried me on his vehicle and we headed to the POS — a 15 minute drive because of how terrible the road was.

We got there and the POS man said he can't take 500 Naira for 200k. There were some cute Igbo girls there looking fly and one was staring at me because I was speaking English while they were speaking Igbo.

So, she knew I was a foreigner or I don't speak their language — though, I do hear 40%, but I can't speak it.

"Give him 2k," the seller that drove me to the POS said. "2k how?" I asked. "Didn't you tell me I will only pay 500 Naira? How come 2k?"

I wasn't even happy I would be paying 500 Naira for something I can just do with my phone in less than 20 seconds if I had network.

"See, you're traveling back to Rivers state, so you need to do fast so you can reach on time," he said — the seller.

"Okay, I'll help you guys with 1k for 200k and I can't go below that," the POS man said.

After considering how we've wasted at least 10 minutes there, I brought out 500 and told him to add another 500 to it, but he refused.

Instead, he brought out 200 Naira and said he want to lend me and I'll pay back when we get back to his shop. See me see trouble. Lend ke.

I told him I won't pay and it's not because I don't have money with me to pay, but the reason I don't like this is because he told me 500 Naira will do it, but here we are and you want me to spend more. (Igbo guys and sense to suck you slowly).

A guy can guy a guy, but a guy cannot guy a Port Harcourt guy easily. Las las it will end in Rivers of______fill in the blank.

In my pocket, the cash with me was more than enough, though not up to 200k and that's why I needed to do the transfer to avoid carrying lots of money and endanger my life in a place I haven't been to before. It was my first time in Nnewi, but not my first or second time in Anambra.

Finally, I contributed 800 + his 200 and we paid.

Now, here is my question: Even though Sarcodié will say, "You know say money no be problem," do you think I'm happy I lost 800 Naira just like that? No no no.

If he had told me the real amount, I wouldn't have felt that way. I felt gamed/played You know, these Igbos are smart when it comes to money and we Rivers guys are violent when we notice we are being cheated or used.

If you think 800 Naira is not money, then wait to see a smart Igbo man who will not want to lose 200 Naira. This is to say, Igbos are smart when it comes to money and they don't like losing it even if it's just 200 Naira.

There is nothing like peanut — you get paid based on the value or perceived value of your talent, product, item, skill, or job.

Books that cure PE have a big value and that is why I sell it for 10k and above.

Having a football skill has a bigger perceived value and that's why footballers earn a lot while doctors earn less (compared to footballers) because saving a life in today's society doesn't have a good perceived value compared to saving animals.

Kill 10 cows today and kill 10 humans and you'll see the world will worry more about the 10 cows.

Kill a man and a cute cat and you'll see Americans and animal activists will care more about the dead cat.

So, it's all about value or perceived value. I value 800 Naira because I didn't steal it — I worked for it.

A fraudster won't value it because it was stolen and this is why Yahoo Boys waste money or spend lavishly. In my world, we spend wisely even if people will see us as broke or stingy.

Let them think what they want to think — we keep moving.
