oz4real83:Well, only very few of our leaders can be elected as even an equivalent of councillors in those climes. And again, the Swiss leadership formation is very typical. They have a set of seven leaders and one of them will lead as the President at least once in 7years. So the have a very balanced leadership. |

Exactly the reason your country became Poverty capital of the world. Imagine how much you have to loot, go to Central Bank and take the lion share of the Foreign Reserve to train children that will only come home for your funeral or visits. They do not speak your language, understand your culture or your African religion. This is what foster corruption and deplete foreign income at the expense of the majority of Nigerians. Your Colo mentality is the problem. Always looking to reap where you or your grandparents did not sow. Chimpretty: |

Thanks to Switzerland, I was able to raise funds for my Masters degree program in less than 2 yrs, saving over 20k Swiss franc. That was in the late 90s. Boy, I worked like "jack". Few Nigerians were laughing at me for not spending money on clothes/shoes. I just faced my first goal. The income there was generally higher than other parts of Europe. The sad part is that they were/are not welcoming of immigrants. I can't blame them, it's their country. It's probably the cleanest country in the world. The French part was more liberal as they gave temporary immigrants a work permit that could be taken away any time. By the time they took mine away, I already achieved my aim and gladly told them goodbye. The German part was too racist, and never allowed temporary immigrants to work. The Italian part was not so economical buoyant as the French or German part. All in all, I still thanked Switzerland for allowing me reside in their country for the time I did. As an upright and goal oriented Nigerian, I stayed out of trouble. But as usual few of our boys were wrecking havoc. |

Sarang:Don't even go there. It depend, so far you avoid cities like Zurich, Geneva or Berne. As far back as the late 90s, a 2-bedroom apartment in relatively smaller city was around 700 Franc. I rented a Studio for just 500 Franc. My monthly income was around 2400 Franc. In the US, if you work at night, you get extra 50 cents per hour. In Swiss, while my colleagues who worked during day time were earning like 11 Franc by hour, I earned around 14-15 Franc per hour for working at night. I remember leaving this job of cleaning McDonald's for construction job with a work agency. My first construction job was on a railway line, constructing new rail lines or replacing old ones, a back breaker. That job was in the night to replace an old rail line before day break. For showing up for the job, right there each person at my level were handed 50 Franc cash per night. This was outside my regular hourly income. It's just for showing up at night for this job. But that night, if I could cry I would have. I could hardly get off my bed the next day. But over time, my body got used to it. By the time I was done with the construction job over 3-4 months, my Nija madam saw me and thought I was into body building. From that construction job, my earning was over 4k Franc per month. But construction jobs like that are for short periods. And imagine, that was with an agency that would have made money off me. Please, don't talk about USA where minimum wage is around $7 per house. America practice extreme capitalism.. Many employers want to put you to work at the minimum cost possible. Most regular folks there have two jobs to survive. Meanwhile I was talking about the late 90s in Swiss. God knows what the minimum wage was in Switzerland then. Once, a relarive who happened to be a white german visited me and saw my income, she was surprised how I earned that high for that kind of work, meaning that pay for such jobs was less even in Germany. Every month, I could put over 1k Franc aside. I had no kids and was not married. My social life was nearly zero aside from occasional runs with girls. In Australia, it's high income tax they will use to chase you. |

ajl:In Canada average 2 bedroom is CAD990. You get a 1 bed and studio for less. Aside from Toronto and Vancouver other places are cheaper. (500 CHF is CAD750 or there about) and in Canada construction earns well above CAD35 per hour Also you are talking in 1990’s I am talking 2020.. Price of a room in 190’s in Switzerland most definitely won’t be the same today; anywhere in fact. Also as a single person you made 4000 CFH and was able to put aside 1000CFH I can assure you someone living in Canada today, unmarried and making 4000 is able to put aside more And I am sure that Switzerland like most western countries have high income tax as well It’s not about minimum wage, it’s about the cost of things. And yes the united states is cheaper than Canada in some ways, how much more Switzerland. Sample screenshot

DamnnNiggarr:Definitely, not 24 hours in Switzerland too baby but their salary is based monthly and the hourly wage was just based on the easy reference of 24 hours for easy calculations due to the various range of hours workers work in that clime. Hope you understand now sir. We all learn everyday and you learned something new today sir. You are welcome ![]() |
