now for you information satellite TV dishes and navigation systems have been in full use and operational before any thing GPS or any thing satellite was ever claimed to be in space. Now to answer you. The nature of a ball is that it slopes down 369° all around you and this makes the objects slope down below your eye level as they go far away into the horizon. If the earth is a ball curving[b] 8inches/m^2[/b] then one would have to look down into the horizon because the earth is curving down But if the earth is flat and level this makes the nature of the horizon straight and you will have to look straight into the horizon no matter the height you climb the horizon is straight and that is the reality we see in our world.

The human eye see in a triangular manner so objects moving away from you tend to get smaller and smaller as they go away from you until they get to the vanishing point or horizon where they appear to sink below the horizon. This is not because they are sinking but because of the nature of the human eye. If you were to take a telescope and view that object you will get a full view of that object proving they are not going down a curve. Eg check the image below.

The sun moves away from the human eye view and g. ets smaller as it does (depends on the atmospheric conditions) and when it reaches the vanishing point depending on your vantage point it Appears to sink down into The horizon and at this stage if you were to take a zoom camera or to climb unto a higher ground which would expose and allow the view of a farther horizon One can still see the sun again in full view until it is finally gone out of sight due to atmospheric blocking.

The sun is the moving object and not the earth. An evidence of this is the fact that we see it doing so and also the fact that shadows under the sun light move from left to right as the sun moves this is how the ancients were able to tell time using sun and moon dial.

Try the experiment and see if you will get the same result; get a stick and stand it upright, put on your phone light or any other and place it at angle 45°, now. move that light from Left to right and watch how the shadow of that stick also move with the movement of that light.
After that then get a ball place that stick side ways point your light from a distance to that stick on. The ball then rotate the ball to see if you will get the same result.
