Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Eilenora: 8:58pm On Oct 23, 2020
Correspondence started on Page 12 in my notes. You will see outgoing 1, outgoing 2, outgoing 3, etc

Outgoing 1 was titled "other" and dated Aug 6. I assume this was my AIP cos I received same Aug 5
Outgoing 2 was my medical report dated July 24. I received this July 25
Outgoing 3 is the original passport request dated July 24 same date as AIP with a due date for today
Outgoing 4 is the biometric request letter dated July 14
Outgoing 5 is an acknowledgement of receipt email dated same day i submitted my application.

After these are incoming correspondence which listed all my several emails and webforms in respect of my upfront medicals that was yet to be reflected on my portal.

It means if I dont receive PPR today or in the next few days, then we know for sure that the delay is cos Fanshawe's covid readiness plan is yet to be approved. So you see why I am asking this qstn.

I want to clarify this line of reasoning from those that got their gcms notes and have also gotten PPR as well, to make sure I am in order. For thos ethat have gotten GCMS notes, take time out to read the plenty notes in the 62 pager documents and see if you find same thing in there

NAIT would have been a sweet school for what you wanna do.. but don’t worry about a thing, people here will give you handy advise on the schools you have chosen..
About funding, make sure you or your sponsor can prove your full first year tuition fees + 10k cad for your upkeep, you can pay your full first year fees to the school if possible before applying.. (please note, it’s not mandatory that you must pay your first year tuition before applying for your study permit..

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 9:14pm On Oct 23, 2020
Your situation has improved considerably.

State that you had no reason to travel until now. I have never seen travel history stand alone as a reason for refusal. If you tackle other ones well, you’re good to go.

You uncle can transfer your living expenses to your account. And make mention that he has done that in his Letter of sponsorship and that he’ll continue supporting you throughout your studies. You should also mention in your SOP that your uncle has transferred that to you on so so date and attach your bank statement. You can include an affidavit of support from a court done by your uncle if you want.

Bearing a surname is not enough proof. They want to be sure you have access to the person’s money. Sending your living expenses can help convince (minimum of 10,000 cad)

Stating that this uncle has been supporting you since is good but if there’s no proof, the visa officer can disregard it. If your uncle has ever sent a huge amount of money to you or something that shows he has ever supported you financially, you can attach that proof.

Best wishes
Glasses08:
Yes, I requested a gcms note. Here's the VO's point:

"No support for previous travel to assess as a positive. No support for personal income funds from a third party. Assessment of obligation is not practical. Not satisfied of provenance of and thus availability of funds to meet requirements of R216. After considering the applicants academic and professional history their financial situation as well as there planned studies and explanation provided for it, I am not satisfied that the applicant is a genuine student who who will pursue studies in Canada. The stated benefits of their intended studies does not seem to warrant the cost and difficulty of undergoing a foreign education. I am therefore not satisfied that the applicant will leave Canada at the end of the period authorised for their stay as required by R216(b). Refused."

I wasn't working as at then in 2018 because I just completed my NYSC and was still searching. However I have a good job now and reasonable amount in my savings. I have also completed my ICAN exams and qualified as a chartered accountant. I have also acquired a landed property in my name and also have a good pension fund so I hope those will address his other concerns. And I have fully explained those in my LOE. I have also worked better on my purpose of study and buttressed the point more in my LOE.

However, I wasn't really able to write valid points to address the travel history.

Then I am not so sure of the VO's concern about the proof of fund as my sponsor is my uncle who bears the same surname with me and my dad is late and my uncle has been the one sponsoring my education since I was in high school, I have also explained this in my LOE. Is there anything else you think the VO might want to see in this regard.

I will appreciate more suggestions from the house on how I can improve my chances.

Thanks

Hello I am new here.
I am not sure of how to navigate this platform yet.
The purpose of this message is to enquire about processing Canada visa.
I want to go for MSc in Public Health.
I intend to do the process myself.
I have lost of schools that don’t require IELTS
Which are
1. University of Winnipeg
2. University of Saskatchewan
3. Regina University
4. Carleton University
5. Memorial University
6. Brock University
7. Concordia University

I have been going to each of their websites to enquire about their tuition fees and the rest.

I saw somewhere for masters pro gram
There is thesis or course study ( not sure what that means).

I just need guidance, I am nervous and confused on where to begin.
Please note that I have 2.2cgpa
Can I go for master’s with this?

And I would like to know the amount I should have on ground before I begin the process at all

Plus how much will I spend in total, including flight ticket?

I will appreciate your response and assistance

Good evening gurus,

Did anyone here attend university of Manitoba or know anyone who did, please I need some guidance.

I want to apply for an MSc in Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba but the fees I saw on the website looks too good to be true.
$5,874.90 for year 1 and continuing fees (500$) for year 2.
I'm a bit confused and have searched a lot of threads and the school's website.
i would appreciate if anyone could shed more light on the graduate tuition fees, please

Oh!! What’s the status showing?
Mine is showing I should have gotten PPR since the 12th of June. I’m not even sure what’s happening but I’m just chilling till next month when the new list of DLI with Covid-19 readiness plan comes out.
*fingers crossed

Hello etare,

Thesis-based Master's differs from the professional degree in that it emphasizes original research and research methodology.

Course-based Master's are more structured and focus on the direct application of knowledge in teaching and educational administration contexts.

2.1 is the Minimum Requirements for MASTERS in Canada

With ur 2.2,
You are eligible to apply for a PGD/PG. Cert/ Post Baccalaureate Programs in Public Health or a field related to ur first degree

Check the link below for schools offering PG. Cert/Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Health related programs
https://www.collegesinstitutes.ca/our-members/list-of-degrees/?fwp_search_by_keyword=Health&fwp_program_levels=graduate-certificate

As regards amount of money needed,

You av to make available the Tuition fee of the program(skool) u want to apply to or have gotten admission to & also your compulsory One Year living expenses of $10,000 CAD, Convert them from Canadian Dollars (CAD) to Naira,
with that you would know the amount of money u need to have on ground.

Try as much as possible to familiarize & enlighten yourself with the contents in the link below

Good evening everyone;

In the spirit of re-application; I have some questions to ask

1. Aside paying my full tuition and submitting an account statement of 9M+, how else can i tackle rejection based on finance?

2. I was delayed because of only financial reason. Is it possible for them to include other reasons for denial after a reapplication? if yes, how can i avoid it?

Hello,

Your sponsor can send the living expense to your account. Minimum 10k cad. Sponsor should state he has done that in his letter of sponsorship. You should state it in your SOP and highlight the date, so it tallies with your bank statement. The transfer should carry sponsor’s name

The remaining amount in sponsor’s account after deducting your expenses should be substantial enough to take care of of sponsor and his needs. So sponsor’s account should be solid.

Unfortunately, other reasons of rejections can come up. You can avoid it by making sure you tighten every corner of your application.

Best wishes

Thank you so much for your response.

Lekiboboe:

In my own opinion a PG. Cert or Post Baccalaureate Diploma in a Business related Program is what you should go for owing to your Salon-Spa Beauty Business u are into since 2015.

You might not be able to address the educational gap & work gap cos 2004 & 2011 is a long time, a Visa Officer might assume you have bin away from academics and work experience relating to ur degree for a long time now

Since u are going for a Program not related to ur degree, the information in the link below will be helpful (colleges offering PG. Cert/Post Baccalaureate Program In Business)

Please can you tell us the procedure for submitting the passport? and what documents to add as well. Did you need to pay any fees? Many of us got passport requests with no instruction on how to go about it. We can’t reach them via calls or emails. Please kindly assist. God bless
