I used the Duolingo English test. They are accepting it for applications up to summer 2021 due to the pandemic.
I got admission into the MEng program in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering for winter 2021.

Hello,

No I haven’t.

Lagos website says it’s closed indefinitely, they didn’t give an opening time.

Abuja shows that they’re open. I’m going to Abuja vfs tomorrow to check if they’re really open and accepting passports. If they’re not, I’ll initiate the Accra move

I am currently in Port Harcourt. Please keep me posted on the outcome of your visit to the Abuja VFS. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for your advice @lekiboboe, I am actually referring to PGC not PGD and I'm having zoom meeting with Fanshawe college on Tuesday to finalize my decision. Do you mean Langara college?

Please I would like to know in case I want to go with a family of 5 what is the minimum account statement and also would sponsor be allowed in this case if I'm unable to raise the minimum account statement for family study pathway.

Thanks for all that have contributed making this forum informative.

Lekiboboe:

Hi Oluomu,

I don't know how cogent your reasons are to go for a DIPLOMA, since u are a Graduate (HND), to show Academic/Career Progression, a Post Graduate Certificate is your best shot.

Cos you going for a Program having a lower qualification would likely raise concerns for a VO (Visa Officer).

Google and check

- PG. Cert, Industrial Automation
Niagara College, Ontario Do you mean Langara college?

- PG. Cert, Practical Elements of Mechanical Engineering
Fanshawe College, Ontario

Try & do more esearch on PG. Cert programs related to your Mech. Engineering field

So sorry about that, by the way, do you have a 2.1, if yes , you should have applied to more than One School, by mailing more supervisor(Profs.) for thesis-based Masters Admission (based on their research interest & yours), It's not advisable to apply to only one skool,
enlarging your coasts on admission would have bin beneficial to you, you might have even bin able to get a Funded Masters.

Sequel to my last response to u, If its a 2.2 you have, you can also add this to ur list of skools, check the Computer Science program below

PGC, Information Technology: Cybersecurity
NBCC, New Brunswick, Canada

Thanks. Really helpful

Chocs:
Hello,

The trv(visa) you’ll get cannot exceed the length of your passport. So if you submit a passport expiring February, the expiry date of the trv will be February, and this is not reasonable.

If you submit your application and the decision isn’t made in time, you can send a new LOA with a new start date. But please check with your school to know the deadline for a deferral so you don’t miss it.

I guess you can apply with this passport if you’re in a hurry and then send the data page of the new passport via webform and email once you get it.

Best wishes

Ok, your welcome, those two programs you mentioned at Fanshawe & Algonquin in ur initial post are all College Diploma , they are not PGC Programs.

Interestingly,
its likely u get a Positive decision from those two schools based on admission, the main bridge to cross will now be your Study Visa Application, most esp. on
" How to Convince a Visa Officer (VO) with strong Cogent reasons why u are going for a DIPLOMA instead of a PGC on your SOP (Statement of Purpose)"

No, am talking about NIAGARA COLLEGE in ONTARIO, not Lanagara,

Langara College is in another province (British Columbia)

As per going with your family,
Do await a response in that from members in House,

From what I know of this,
its always advisable for the applicant (you) to Travel only, so you can use your family as HOME-TIES (Ties are things that can compel u to come back to Nigeria after your Studies in Canada e.g Family, Landed Properties, Job, Position etc.) cos It is highly mandatory of you to show strong HOME-TIES to your country and ur family is one of them.

You’re welcome

I’ve seen your email. I’ll reply soon with the consent form.

I was told it’s an international transaction so I can’t just transfer from my mobile app. I need to go to the bank to initiate the transaction. Yes you can use ecobank Nigeria.

I’m going to Abuja vfs tomorrow to check if they’re open and accepting passports. If they’re not, I’ll initiate the Accra move

Cheers

Update: I just sent you the consent form

Let me give you a hack.. put each file to be scanned on your phone, open and screen grab it, this would shred the size by a chunk. Then Move it to your laptop and use Adobe DC to compress each file, then merge. This should really help with the size.

Thanks once again for this information, I'm actually looking for program inline with my profession and experience.

I have over 10 years of experience in automotive precisely Gasoline and Diesel Engine and most of the programs I'm seen are diploma programs, been the fact that is been long I came out of school I don't want to dabble in course I have no idea of, reason for choosing those course in Algonquin and Fanshawe. And from the course outline I can get some courses waved since i have done them before in my post secondary programs during my years in school according the person handling Africa candidates.

I would appreciate ur further input and advice in these areas.

Thanks
