Hello guys. My school waved GRE and IELTS. Will that be a problem at the embassy as I don't have either?

Just take GRE to be safe

This solely depends on the remarks on your I-20. As far as it is stated on your I-20 under the English Proficiency Remark, that you have satisfied your English proficiency requirement and that student is proficient. You should not have any problem with that. I doubt if the VO needs any further proof after that. Regards

Hello dear,
We are in the same shoes.
Can I Pm u.

Or my WhatsApp is on underneath this quote

If you needed sufficient scholarship for an undergraduate degree, you must get your SAT score and your High School transcript (preferably evaluated transcript) -with at least 3.0 if your SAT score is high if you have a relatively lower SAT score you will be needing around 3.5/4.0-
In addition, get some funds for the application charges.
*TOEFL is not necessary but if you can do it's fine.

These can be slightly different if you play sports and you're very good at it plus you have your highlights videos. You might or might not need an SAT score to get an athletic scholarship ( this scholarship varies up to full ride/full scholarship) even if you needed a score definitely not a high score in as much as your score is sufficient to get you admitted into the school it's fine same applies to high school GPA.
The first thing is to get a good score on SAT.

Further note for those who have began their program online this fall. When you get to the interview session, not much is asked once you have started your program. I had my VISA interview last week. Once the VO asks' what school do you intend to go? You begin by telling the VO that you are a masters/doctorate student of x and y at the university of x and y. That you intend to return in-person this coming spring. You will need to show the VO a colored print out of a proof of your course enrolment, tution and fees payment and school's unofficial transcript. This was what I did. My interview was not up to a minute. Reasons why I found it difficult to forward my transcript here. It was so brief and fast. I was extremely surprised. I was not asked any question like the others... questions like why the school, financial justification etc. All these was not required from me. As they have always stated on this platform, be confident enough that you are a scholar and you know your worth. Bodily countenance really matters. I ended up speaking when I was not asked any further question by the VO, more like a conversation with him. I was confused as he kept on typing and remained silent as if he already had all the information needed. Apart from what school I was going to attend, he asked about my marital status and that was all. It was that simple but it may vary for others though. Just make sure you have every of your original documents to proof all that you stated on your DS-160. They did not need all that from me sha. But thank God I was able to present my school's tuition and fees payment receipt, unofficial/non-graded transcript and my course enrolment print out. Immediately, I showed him this. That was what made it for me. This should help those awaiting interview that have already started their program virtually this fall and returning in-person for spring 2021. My regards to every one in the house. You guys are really doing a great job here and that is what motivated me to drop this here. Gracias

Hi

Please when was your interview and when were you asked to come and pick your passport?

morgang:

I suggest you book an Uber that will navigate the blocked terrains. Mind you, don’t go to DHL office at Isolo. There was a generic mail sent to to me and upon arrival at Isolo, they didn’t have any of our passports. Go to VI DHL office (Muri Okunola) which I believe it’s not blocked by protesters.

Hi Juniorsworld

When(what date) did you do your interview? And when were you called to pick up your passport?

juniorsworld:
For those who are picking up their visa, are the protests blocking the highways, making it difficult to get to DHL? I am going to do a pick up but it seems the protests have blocked highways.

Good luck and tons of best wishes.

How were you able to write SAT since it was cancelled for previous months or your school is test optional?

I'm undergrad too, submitted applications to some test optional schools as at last week and waiting for their feedbacks.

Hi Oluwaseun

When was your interview? And have you gotten any response so far?

Oluwaseunisi:
Good morning everyone.

Please for those that recently got their visa approved through expedited appointment, have you been able to track your passport or visa status to know where to pick it up?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by mvem(m): 12:19pm On Oct 26, 2020

I will advice anyone going for interview to please prepare properly, the system is not friendly at all.
For those asking what this new visa ban has on Nigerians, it's very simple.. Nigerians will not be able to immigrate to USA on any conditions, even after your studies and you get a job and your status changes to H1-b you will not still be able to apply for a green card. Also we are banned from the lottery system as well. In my opinion USA is far fetched and does not want Nigerians migrating or immigrating in anyway.

policies change with time

Y'all are still giving US embassy your hard earn money.. If you are not very rich or part of the elite in the society with political pulling power, chances of getting a USA visa are very slim. Y'all should look elsewhere, USA isn't the only country in the world
this is misinformation...normal people get their visas without any pulling power you talk about

Let's just be calm, I believe they want to know the situation of things before issuing out appointment dates again. Hopefully, before this week ends, everyone would have gotten their new appointment dates.

Nairalanders in the US pls I need your advice.

I am about to complete my masters program in cell biology but plan to start another degree in nursing but my study permit expires in may 2021. My question is, will I still be in status when I start another program or will it affect my Visa? How do you advice I go about this.

Thanks for your response in advance

Hello House,

Please I need all the bosses opinion on this.

A friend got admitted for a fully funded PhD, she already started online classes. She intends to go with her child. But she wants to apply for visa with the husband as well, so the husband can come when he is ready. Note: The husband has no plans to stay in the US, he intends to be visiting. The husband is the sponsor for the dependents (himself and the baby).

Is it okay for the husband to be the sponsor in this case?
And is it fine for them to apply together?
