It's new trend now, riders threatening drivers with social media call out to bend them to their will.

In the last 2 weeks, two different riders have threatened me with social media call out.

First was a guy, 1.9 surge trip from aguda to isolo(jakande estate), I said I was not going, he asked me to cancel, I went to eat at a fast food, he called me back, saying all manner of rubbish, and said he was going to call me out social media.

Another rider said she was going to report me to bolt, what was the issue, I told her to take her legs down politely oooh.

Sometime back I was at magodo, I think it was an Uber trip, I got this request going to mile12, I told her politely that I can't go because of traffic (she was aware of the traffic), she said we will go here and there, I said I'm still not going. I asked her to cancel, and ended the call. After sometime I got a text from her saying she will report me and make sure they block me. I quickly took a screenshot of the text and sent to Uber, Uber apologized.

Riders these days now see social media as tool to deal with drivers who didn't do their will

Riders are difficult at times although I do have to admit it can be frustrating when you have to keep canceling as a rider.

We are all drivers whether it’s private car or ehailing. Even if you get something like a job or a business, you can still save money on gas when you commute daily plus you get to meet and network with different class of people. It’s not a shameful job. It’s just a stressful one.

Bolt is not too bad sha, though they mite not have enough posh riders like that.

But hey, is it posh riders you want or the cheese?

If Uber didn't block me for cancellations, I wudnt have tried Bolt extensively.

Right now, I'm addicted to seeing where I'm heading to. I can't fly blind, not in Lagos.

Maybe in December, I might put on the Uber app.

I saw this on Instagram.
There are people who use every opportunity to denigrate Uber drivers. Is it too much a task to be about her way and order another ride?
Is it a crime to also ask where a rider is heading ?
I'm not justifying what the driver did by asking for offline but there's no harm in negotiating a deal as this.
Fellas, what do you think?

My problem with this post is that the lady in question is this comedian Taoo, supposedly a celebrity according to Naija social media. So bolt won’t take it lightly.
Especially if you read people’s comments on her IG , they finished bolt and drivers.
On no occasion should a driver or rider raise hand or throw something in an argument

why do most riders get offensive when u ask them whr they r heading to? But for me that's my first question before even starting my car to come pick u once u refuse to tell me or say sheyy it's not showing in ur app or don't ask me just come i just slide arrive and wait to cancel..when i first start to drive then i suffer my car but not anymore, my car sef is happy with me now.. I filter my trips

I’ve been on the receiving end too, after 5 drivers has cancelled on me because I’m doing a card trip and they don’t want to go to my destination, trust me the next driver didn’t have to say a word.

Screw e-hailing apps, hw can riders get almost complete information about driver whereas driver only get to see phone number. It's so wrong for apps companies to put out car plate number driver's face bt car do same for drivers. Me some am get a sienna na interstate tins.

Neither you nor the drivers are right or wrong everyone is only finding a ground suitable for them.

Many months ago I think when I was still driving for dru I was somewhere around Ajao estate at about past 9pm... This gentle man's request came in and was going to lekki or it environs where I was looking for a trip home.

He was the one that rang me
Me: hello sir, pls your destination (normally I don't ask but once it's past 6pm both Uber and Bolt adviced we driver's to always ask of destination once its dark)
Rider: after telling me his destination went on further to inform me it a card trip.
Me: I was like...wow! .... Both odds against me

I got to PU and the guy was already waiting outside and we had an understanding which we finally made the trip offline.

There are Something about card trips;
1. Always inform the driver on the phone prio his arrival to PU. I understand most times cards trips always come with bonus for the rider, never the less riders should endeavor to communicate to the driver for good understanding and a smooth ride.
2. Card trips are either used to pay for outstanding commission owned by driver's or to be paid to their account on Mondays of every week provided the driver's account is still active if paraventure the driver's account is blocked while having a positive balance that money will be domant in that account pending when it will be unblocked.
3. Drivers need cash to carryout daily expenses on their cars, pay toll fees, settle law enforcement agents, weekly remittance et el.

I can't count the numbers of times ive collected money from rider while on trip to buy fuel.

Most of the time especially Mondays I leave the house with just 500naira fuel.

Life na understanding, riders understand that their life is partially in the hand of the one that holds the wheel when on a trip because if you get that man angry they can run you into anything and call it accident and there's nothing anyone will do about it.

Any rider that don't want to disclose his/her destination has an evil intention n such rider don't deserve a ride simple

This behaviour is really bad from an e-hailing driver, the lady should do everything in her power to get this disgraceful driver OFF e-hailing both on UBER and BOLT.
It’s a big shame to all decent e-hailing driver all over the world, such nonsense should never be tolerated, I remember a UBER driver who took me to Namdi Azikiwe airport, l was to pay N3500 for the trip, he started complaining that it should cost N5500 and asked if l could add N1500 to the amount, l immediately told him , it’s my job and it’s what l do, many times, l have taken riders to the airport without any return job, in business you win some you lose some, it’s what it is.
I gave him a one star and gave a comment
that he harassed me for an extra N1500.
Driver need to be disciplined and well behaved and stop acting like scoundrels.

Well said Bruv, that should be the spirit and attitude, whatever you do make the best of it and always be proud & thankful,
To many drivers seem to be ashamed of being a UBer driver why, is it not better then just sitting at home, how many Working class Nigerians get your kind of income, and there is always room to increase your earnings if you need extra income by working a bit longer

To be honest UBER‘S business model was built on payment by card not by cash, Personally l see payment by cash as very dangerous, as per asking for destination, l was taking aback when my UBER driver asked for my destination, but in retrospect l think it’s a wise thing, our roads are incredibly bad.
It’s best to know where you are going , so you can plan yourself very well.

So I had one crazy experience this morning. Got a request at ọwọrọ, destination wasn't showing. Called the rider, told her I was less than a minute away from PU, she said okay. Got to PU, expecting she would be out by then, waited 5 minutes, before calling her again, then she said she is coming down now. First red flag. I shrugged it off, she got in, I asked her destination, she said yaba, I said okay, we started the trip. I went through Bariga, on getting to akoka, I asked where exactly are we going. Cos the map was showing something else. She said community road. I said, but that's not yaba, she then lied she didn't know the destination, that she hasn't been there before. I swallowed and continued. Got to the street of her destination after so many bad roads, saw rivers of water that got to the bonnets of SUVs. Told her I can't go through that water with my car, madam asked why. I told her cos my car would go off if I try it. She just went off and off, I ignored her, eventually she asked what I wanted her to do, I told her since you can see the place you are going to from where we are, why not just end the trip here and walk less than 100m to the place, if you are too weak to walk, you could take a bike. Madam started shouting again that did she tell me she wanted to take bike that she knows why I'm saying all this, that it's because it's a card trip( I had no knowledge prior to this time that it was a card trip cos I don't bother to check). Then I told her, okay let me see if there is an alternative route, unfortunately there was none. At this point my patience was running out, so was my fuel. She started shouting again, that I want to put her through stress because I don't want my car to go off in the middle of the water. At this point I lost it( I don't know how to yell or shout when angry, infact, when I'm angry, my voice goes lower and I smile more), I told her point blank, so you knew your destination and knew the road was bad but still tricked me, as if that wasn't enough, you want me to risk spending tens of thousands because you don't want to go through stress, there is no amount of money this trip would give me that can take care of the damage the water will do to my car. I then told her in clear terms, I'll end the trip and refund you whatever it gives. I'm not a beggar, I'm a well paid nurse who does this for fun and extra cash. At this point madam went mute and told me to take her back to the junction of the destination. Took her there and ended the trip, I was trying to bring out my wallet and give her back her 1400 and she just came down, banged my door and started walking away.

Some people are actually rude and think lowly of e-hailing drivers.

No b lie bros... Weather na okada u dey ride na driver u still be... All jobs r stressful just that ehailing job is for people with high level of tolerant, endurance, a lasting streight, discipline to be able to save for weekly remittance and faithfulness to keep paying.

In my little years of experience I can boldly say I own no partner a dine till date. Anyways, God no go shame us.

EVERY DRIVER SHOULD ALWAYS FIND TIME TO CHILL.
"I CANNOT COME AND KILL MYSELF'.
Once in a while, Remove N3,000 from that N5,000 Naira.
Take a walk to the Woman or Mallam selling Roasted chicken
or catfish,
Tell her to give you 2 laps or one plate. Tell her to package it
in TAKEAWAY,
On your way home, buy Hollandia yogurt, or any good yogurt or
Juice or Wine, etc
When you get home, Lock your door, Off your clothes,
Put "I can't kill myself" by Timaya.
Please don't sit on the chair, spread on the floor and make
sure you tear that chicken/fish as you listen to the song.
Then dilute it with the Hollandia/other drink.
Problem no dey finish for this world.
So no kill yourself trying to solve everything without taking a
break to relax and enjoy.
This is one of the best messages this year.
It is already 6th of NOVEMBER and the problems of 2020 still
full ground!!!!
Enjoy Guys life is too short
