chakula:Let me ask you: Who or which part of the Country are its Legislators opposing Restructuring right now? Which part of Nigeria and its Dictators oppose secession or breakup? Who are the People whose leaders are fighting and chanting "One Nijeria"? When Ipob wanted to leave, where is the leader who sent soldiers to quench their agitation from? See, l dont like Hypocricy, especially when it comes from someone who is not smart but thinks he is smart. |

[Quote author=One4me] May God hear your prayer for the quick dissolution of this country, as soon as possible though l know that it is the same Northerners that are using Fulani-dominated security Agencies to hold Nigeria together, speaking of Hypocrisy. What you say, as bad as it is, is not far from the truth but l will tell you what is happening, things you fail to mention. It is true that Southern Nigeria (SE, SS and SW) are almost exclusively reliant on the North for its food supply, especially since Buhari came to Power. This is not by accident, it is PLANNED It is also true that it has not always been like this, Southern Nigeria has always been able to feed itself, in various degrees between the Regions because each Region has commodities it is specialised in producing. There is YAM from the SE and SW, traded to the SS, there is Fish and Plantain from the SS, traded to SE and SW, there is Vegetables, Tomatoes, Okra, etc from the SW and SE, traded to the SS but all the above Products are available in EVERY REGION of Southern Nigeria, in varying quantities, Protein farming (Chickens, Piggery, Snail, Fish, Goats, Ram, etc) is also extensive in the South West, South South and South East so Southern Nigeria can sustain itself, without a dime of Product from the North and it has always done that in the past, before something happened and they started depending on food Supplies from the North. The majority of the Cows coming from the North, are products of Niger Republic, Sudan, Chad and other Nomadic Countries in the Sahel areas of West Africa, not necessarily indigenous to Northern Nigeria. The Majority of the Food that we assume come from the North, especially staples like Yam and Grains, come from the Middle Belt Region which "the North" likes to claim is part of Northern Nigeria but if you ask the people of Taraba, Plateau, Kogi, etc will tell you they are not Northerners. Now, since Buhari came to Power, ln my opinion, some Jihadist Northerners having hijacked his Govt and being an Ethnic Bigot himself, a plan was hatched to prepare the North for a possible breakup of Nigeria. Buhari bought into this plan whole-heartedly and even a blind man can see that close to 90% of infrastructural developments, be it in Roads, Rail, Military, Agriculture, Education, Health, Foreign NGO participation, Power, etc, have gone to the North. Even appointments are not spared, because Buhari and his Northern Cabals are working to a "Scheme and Plan". This Scheme and Plan has a target conclusion of 2023, the life span of the Buhari administration but it is not fully concluded due to the global fall in price of Crude Oil (which funds over 80% of Nigeria's development and by so, the exclusive developments ongoing in the North but the Oil comes from the neglected Southern Nigeria!), the Northern Cabal will try to extend the Northern rule and completion of this Scheme, through Atiku! (That is why l weep for Southerners, most Igbos who are rooting for Atiku, you will be helping the Northerner to further enslave/destroy you, (whether you agree or not), this is not a matter of political affiliation but about Ethnic Genocide. Someone has pointed out before that If the North wants to finish-off the South, it does not need to fire a bullet but will use Starvation to accomplish that goal and this post by @Arewa is a reflection of their thoughts. It is commonsense that Starvation is a tool of warfare, though banned and illegal but you cant fight someone whose food you depend on or who controls the source of your food. So, you are already subdued before the fight even starts. Southerners are not stupid and many Southerners know they are in a precarious position right now but the bigger Qiestion is HOW DID WE GET HERE? The truth is that there is a deliberate and consistent effort to ensure that Southern Nigeria depends on food from the North, under this Buhari administration. It is common knowledge that people hardly farm in Southern Nigeria, as of today, not because they dont love farming, not because they dont want to farm but because of FEAR OF BEING SLAUGHTERED BY FULANI HERDSMEN SENT TO ACHIEVE THIS SINISTER PURPOSE OF MAKING SOUTHERNERS DEPEND ON NORTHERNERS FOR FOOD. It started when Buhari came to power and the Fulani Herdsmen suddenly started invading farms in Southern Nigeria, destroying their crops by feeding their Cows on the crops and then proceed to slaughter the Southern farmers! This is obviously a total eradication of the farming Culture and community in Southern Nigeria and the fact that these terrorists Fulani Herdsmen have gone on largely unchecked by the Fulani dominated Security Agencies, it is obvious that they must be working together to achieve their sinister scheme or forcing Southerners to depend on Northerners for food, so that when the times comes, the Northerners can squeeze the life out of Southerners, through Starvation. Even if the South decides to start farming after that time (assuming they are able to protect their farms and farmers), it will still take at least one farming cycle, one year, to get the benefit of sucg, from basic farm products that are annuals. The shame of this LOOMING TRAGEDY, especially now that Northerners are beginning to say it loudly, is that Leaders, Governors, Political Chairmen, Kings and Chiefs in Southern Nigeria are pretending that all is well and are not doing anything observable, except to try to selfishly fester their own financial empire, to reverse this strategy. What the Northerners are doing is condemnable and completely evil, unbecoming of people that can share the same space with others in an amalgamated country, it is not strange, Northerners have always been about Power-Grab and Domination, nothing else but what the Southern Leaders are doing is even worse! Selfish and Greedy Leaders in the South dont care about their people, all they care about is their own pockets and political growth through servitude to Northerners! Take Tinubu, take Ameachi, take Ngige, take the Governors of Southern States, the Chairmen of LGA's, take the Obas and Ezes, what has any of these people done to ensure food safety and self-sufficiency in their states and kingdoms? Which Governor in Southern Nigeria can actually feed its people, assuming that state was completely barricaded and no food enters? It is even more true that the S/South are actually in a more precarious position, due to the destructive exploration of Crude Oil from their territory, money receipts from which Buhari concentrated exclusively on using to develop agriculture in the North! When was the last time anyone heard that the CBN, under the titular leadership of a Southerner (Godwin Emefiele) approved $50Million, or #2Billion or some other amount, into investments in Animal Husbandry, Chicken farms, Crop Farming or any other form of Agricultural development in the South? That would be before Buhari became President but every week or the other, you will hear that the Federal Govt of Nigeria has taken a certain amount of LOAN from China, World Bank, Brazil, IMF, AFDB, etc, to finance projects exclusively in the North, like Rice farms, Power Projects, irrigation Projects, farming Inputs like fertilizer, Tractors, Seeds, etc. Why must Crude money be taken from the South and used to exclusively develop the North, while threatening the South with Starvation, and our Leaders are all smiling to Abuja, stashing loot in foreign banks and prostrating for their Northern paymasters? Is that how to be De-tribalised? Can you be claiming "De-tribalised" at the expense of your own people? Your people are being lined-up for "starvation and slaughter" and you are playing "Mr. Northern Pleaser", just for selfish Political and Financial gains! The shame is on leaders of Southern Nigeria, the North can do this without their connivance. But if the Leaders of Southern Nigeria would not act in the interest of Southerners (I know most of them have looted enough to have houses abroad, have Private jets and their family, if still in Nigeria, will jet put as soon as they hear pim), the Southerners, the ordinary people must take their fate in their own hands because what is coming will be mass genocide, on a scale that has not been seen in Nigeria before, the Civil war will be child's play, it wont spare any region in Southern Nigeria so no one should start feeling immune.... IF SOUTHERNERS DONT START ACTING STRATEGICALLY NOW BY FORCING THEIR LEADERS TO START MECHANISED AGRIC PROGRAMS AND PROTECT SUCH FARMS WITH NATIVE SECURITY TO REPEL THESE RAMPAGING, TERRORIST FULANI HERDSMEN. Long Life Southern Nigeria, we shall not be enslaved or dominated, because we are a free people. This is the unblemished truth, my OPINION and you dont have to agree with it, it changes nothing. [quote]I agree with you 100%. The food is paid for and it is not free whereas the Oil is taken freely. |

AsiwajuNdigbo:They purposely killed thousands of farmers from the South and Middle Belt. They have planned their fighting style but the foolish Southerners are waiting for the Northern control government to start making good policies that will grow the nation. The South should keep waiting until jihadists from the Sahel declare war on them in 2022. |

Arrewa:point of correction! You give diddley squat or Nada! You sell you don't give! Fun fact if we don't buy from you, we will buy from someone else and you'd be the loser! We give you the proceeds of our crude oil resources, now that is giving because you give absofuckinglutely nothing back in return and that is why you are parasites we won't miss if Nigeria breaks up! Every thing we buy from you we can grow if we cared to, we leave the subsistence to you! Don't grow wings! You need your people in government to institute and enforce policies mandating us to patronise your substandard agricultural products or we will be importing better quality agricultural products we can't produce, there's no way your farmers will survive without us, you can't export your products because of the low quality and there's no bigger market for them than southern Nigeria so show some respect boy ![]() |

Asour:You know by now that Middle Belt is totally different from Core North(West and East) Jos is Middle Belt. Middle Belt is the food basket of the nation and that's why Fulani jihadist herdsmen have been trying to conquer them. |

Arrewa:Sometimes it's more profitable to be silent and ponder. No one fed anyone before the colonial era. These East is more than capable of feeding itself, they have goat and cow (Ewu igbo, Efi Igbo) as well but have chosen to specialise in other areas of the economy instead of agriculture and animal husbandry since the 50's. It may also interest you to know that Anambra state has 99% arable land. That's just one state out of the 5. If the component that makes up Nigeria decides to go their separate ways today, they are all capable of food security. |

Arrewa:You are very correct but there is one thing you don't have and it is pineapple. I was in Benin the other day and I saw hundreds of J5 buses carrying pineapple to the North. Our onions from Benin is better than the one from the North, ditto the tomatoes that is round in shape. Don't forget that the yam from Benin is termed the King of yams by IITA. Can you compare our Orange and Mango to the one from the North? Banana and plantain? Do you have tangerine, pepper fruit, and many others too numerous to count in the North? Our diversity is our strength and should not be used as claims of superiority. The quality of food grown by fertilizer for irrigation can never be the same quality like the one that grows drinking the rain from heaven without fertilizer and other implements. |

The time for desert farming where technology is applied so crops can grow in deserts and 2 genetic modification of seeds or animals. Stop clowning East got the land to farm anything the technology will improve it. Access to sea is a challenge that wud soon be a past tense. River Niger via Delta - Anambra is enough. |

And for your info, north don't feed us, we buy from you and when you stop selling we stop giving you money as exchange, you can't build health care, your small development will stop once your people are cut off from the free Abuja money and the little you earn from begging us to buy your cow and onions....the whole north will go back to arid desert it use to be without southern help. |

Only Northern Contractors are allowed to import and export Petroleum products/ Crude Oil. Keep calling the North poor, while we keep milking this Country dry in reality.
