Hello everyone. I have a Bsc in Biochemistry (third class) and I am planning to pursue a Higher Diploma Program in Software Development in Ireland. I already talked with agents from the school and they assured me that getting admission wouldn't be a problem. Also, funds for tuition fees and living expenses will not be a problem. My only worry is whether my Visa would be granted as I have no employment histroy. I obtained my BSc in Biochemistry in 2015 then I did a Postgraduate diploma (Pgd) in Microbiology in 2017. Since then, I haven't had a job; however, in 2018, I set up a cosmetic and skin care manufacturing business that is registered with the CAC. I ran that business for about a year and decided to quit. This was when I started learning programming and software development. Since 2019 I've taken a few courses online but I still have not gotten a job. How will this affect my chances of getting my study visa approved? Someone suggested that I could get a fake work reference but I am afraid of going down that route. Please guys, kindly advise. |

Akinsu: I really don't know with ur UBA bank, but I had GTbank dollar domiciliary corporate account, and I used to withdraw Euros from the ATM then. U cannot withdraw Euro cash from the bank, but u can use ATM and POS terminal. Even your Nigerian ATM card can withdraw money here, but it depends on the max limit set by ur bank. I had Zenith bank naira mastercard and when I went to Ghana I was withdrawing cedis from Ghana Bank ATMs unrestricted 1 Like |

mrray23: Securing a PGD or Higher Diploma program in IT in Ireland is not entirely difficult a the course was designed for those without IT background. It is a 1 year program and you are entitled to 1 year post study work visa as well before proceeding for Masters degree. Howbeit, it is very important that you have at least 2 certification results for the online courses you've completed before applying for your visa. With respects to work, get a volunteer job ref please do not submit fake docs Cheers 1 Like |

Dwebb55:Thanks for this clarification. Please has anyone traveled with Emirates from Lagos enroute dublin recently? Did they require a covid 19 test? |
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by ExpressBooking(m): 9:34pm On Nov 07, 2020 |
Generalbong1: Emirates requires a Covid-19 test from the designated laboratories or hospitals listed on their airline website. Anything short than that no work. If you want to avoid the test, use Turkish Airlines |

Can a third class get admission in republic of Ireland |
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by ICaSNg(f): 10:33am On Nov 09, 2020 |
Wolexyrey: Definitely- Premasters incorporated with a masters degree offer (Griffith as up to 6000 euros scholarship on this via difc) or top up degree option (this may be better as you can secure 1 year work permit to work fulltime before proceeding for masters). UK is also an alternative for direct masters in Business for few universities. 1 Like |

On the contrary, there were people on my flight (Emirate) going to London who did not do a COVID test as it was not required for their final destination. The conditions for UK were similar to that of Dublin.. Locator form et al. I did it and I felt I should not have done it as it was only for those heading to Dubai/UAE. ExpressBooking: |

Dwebb55:Don't really get what you mean, buh i will be given two years to get a job, and after that i will request for stamp 4 visa for permanent resident. Business management is however needed in every country, after tech i guess is business. With my experience here in Nigeria i guess it will give me a upper hand in job searching, moreover it will be easy for me to also seach for job in canada or uk. |

RELAN2446: Unfortunately that isn't how it works. The reason why IT and STEM courses are 'hotcake' is because it isn't really fancied by a majority of their people. They mostly do business courses and that makes picking you over their own people a much harder task. That is why they have a critical skills list which highlights those professions that they have a shortfall in. If your profession is on that list, there is a high likely hood that getting employment after studies will be much easier. It is a lot harder if it isn't on the list. Another thing is many of them have diplomas or certificates and can work with that and there are a lot of them doing that to work. Your chances against an omonile in your field is small oh! 4 Likes |
