A Nigerian lady has revealed the strange tradition she witnessed, when she accompanied her fiancè to his village, which eventually made her to cancel their proposed marriage.

She narrated how she and her fiancè went to his village to see his mother and something very strange happened, that night.

She said, she saw a snake entering her fiancé’s room that night and she tried to kill it, before it harmed someone, but was shocked, when her would-be mother-in-law told her to stop, revealing to her that, it was a taboo to kill a snake in the village.

The mother went on, to tell her that, the snake came to welcome them and she used a stick to remove it.

Bizarre. I read about a thing like this I think in some villages in Anambra state.

Not everyone comes from a tribe with a 'fetish'.

I'd faint at the sight of a snake sef .

So long the snakes are not harmful or poisonous, no problem in that.

I came from a background were my grand parents worshipped snake ,and each time we go home the snake comes out just like she narrated.

But the question should be, is her fiance involve in the snake worship? If yes, then she took the right step. But if no, then she acted unwisely.

Everyone of us came from a background where such idolatry practise existed so whats her problem? Her own family have theirs too

Do u knw the full history of your community? Before the colonial masters we all have one or two gods our people worship just that some of them are no more due to civilization

I think the subject of this post is wrong. There is a big difference between the write up and the subject. Most towns in the south east doesn't kill python snake. There are scenarios where a snake may come into the compound when there is a new born baby which will be taken out of the compound. That doesn't translate to worship.

There is a whole lot to "worship".

most Anambra and imo villages worship snakes in their traditional ways but not necessarily directly.in my villa,it is a taboo to kill a snake else be ready to do the traditional burial like that of a human being

That was the reason she had to bleach her hands,so that the snake won't even come close to her in the nearest future.

Will she find it rather strange if any of those Billionaires and Royals that keep uncaged pets like snakes, lions, crocodiles propose to her. She doesn't love him. She has failed the for better for worse test in marriage.

Some fulls are already insulting her because it is their tribe, some are already saying the marriage/Shiloh nonsense, one even said she dey date alhaji,

How some peeps reason baffles me, can't she hate what she hates, if she said she ain't getting married to the fiancé again, it is her choice, is it by force? If I was the one, in the middle of the night, I'll kill that snake and nothing will happen.
