If the state police commissioner cannot effectively police a single state, he should be fired immediately and a more competent person brought in.

What the police lacks right now is leadership, same thing that led to the whole issue of Endsars...

Under normal circumstances, the IG ought to have honorably resigned or fired from that job...

Taking back that state from criminals should begin with door to door search, and investigation along with road blocks in strategic locations... making peace with the populace of the state, getting them to your side will facilitate and enhance this process.
u mean they should start house to house searching like they did in Rivers State so u people can come out n say they are killing innocent people again abi?d same way they blackmail Wike?many don't understand how d repercussions of the hijacked endsars will b,they released hardened criminals who still have many scores to settle.

we all blame d excesses of police with nobody talking about how to put the yahoo boys n other criminals in check, people never see anything.

the way people will commit crime these December will b alarming cos they know no police officer to put them in check

Right now in my area, online fraud has been taken to a new height since there is no fear of repercussions anymore. They're just receiving money through scam everyday. Yahoo boys and other criminals are now free to operate more than ever! Is this the type of Nigeria we want by putting an end to SARS and the police?

How I wish our prison are correctional centers for real.

Not in naija,
The humiliation and suffering innocent and guilty prisoners pass through in the hand of fellow inmates are worse than correction.

Police officers are also been targeted by escaped inmates. The best the police can do is to find a way to form a cordial relationship with the public.

The citizens can't sleep with their eyes closed at night and the police are also been targeted for reprisals. The criminals live among the citizens. It's's in everyone's interest to work together at this point

This is not the time for blame game.

You are actually talking off point sir...

Peaceful protests shouldn't have stopped serious police officers from doing their jobs. The protests were hijacked by hoodlums because police people chose to abdicate their duties, some even folded their arms watching as a punishment to those protesting against them...

The fact that a protest brought an entire nation's security apparatus to the dust should make you pause and ask yourself pertinent questions: Have we ever truly had a well functioning police and security frame work??! Is Nigeria the only nation in the world to have experienced protests??! Did America and Egypt become crime havens all because people protested for weeks??!

Some of you just want us to keep managing the status quo... Without the events of last month, do you actually believe your leaders would have seen the need to address the longstanding issues of insecurity and massive corruption/criminality within the police units across the nation??! Is that not one of the main things the protests exposed to the light??!...

Some of you just don't get it... Nigeria is like a decaying and gangrenous sore which has long been covered up with promises, dialogue, and status quo...

You people are even talking about Benin... Do you know how many lives have been needlessly lost across the nation even prior to Endsars protests due to insecurity borne out of the negligence of your security apparatus??! Do you even have an inkling of how bad things were even before youths began protesting??!...

Sigh... I am tired of going back and forth with some of you on this issue of EndSARS... Instead of compelling your leaders to do their damn jobs, you rather heap unnecessary blames on your fellow citizens!!! Smh...

Why trying so hard to make saints of the Nigerian Police, heh?

If the gateman had diligently and faithfully done his job, had not kept betraying his paymaster and being found culpable in many break-in and robberies of his master he was paid to protect, the master will not subscribe to suggestions to have him fired.

So just get the whole story and quick pushing your own biased view in schadenfreude. It makes you and the Nigerian police you defend laughable.
