It is not tribalism, it is the same divide and rule strategy the ruling class has been using to subjugate the South. It has always been the strategy. They have their paid minions everywhere on the cyberspace. Unfortunately, the less informed among the South still fall for it

Very wrong generation and to think some people were claiming that this generation is smart yet they were not smart enough to know that destroying public and private business properties is a stupid move. Wrong generation indeed.

See the increase in armed robbery and the businesses of innocent people whose means of liveliihood has been destroyed because of the foolishness of a few jobless people who could not see beyond their nose.

1. The government brought in violence by hiring thugs to attack and disperse peaceful protesters.

2. The government invited the military to kill the peaceful protesters which led to the arsons over the south side of the country.

3. The thugs/hoodlums the government used against the protesters wanted more as they saw opportunities, and they went berserk after the unnecessary curfew that kept business owners inside their houses while hoodlums were strolling freely without any security to keep them off the streets.

4. You can't dictate how people vent their frustration in a situation as that. People said enough of the killing, what they got was more killing. Many people have lost their sons/daughters/sisters/brothers to police brutality and have been in pains. It's sad to see people lose their properties and livelihoods to the destruction, we all definitely won't be satisfied with the outcome. I could remember that, even before the destruction, some people were already angry due to the traffic the protest was causing. In the end, not everyone will be happy but this will surely do some reset for the betterment of the country.

Country that has been set on fire by the govt in power or what are you trying to say?

You have no shame.. Boasting of army standing by to deal ruthlessly with it own citizens, is that what they are for?

That is your own problem... The State will use all its apparatus to crack down on the subversive elements.

Even Trump once said, when the destruction begins, then the shooting starts, and no any human rights group countered that statement...

You guys planning this thing are already outnumbered, and your right to protest does not supersedes the rights to free movement of other individuals...

You'll be dealt with decisively this time around. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. And as far as I'm concerned, check my signature.

Don't say what you don't know.

Yorubas did not vote for Buhari en masse as you proclaim. Unless you choose to ignore the facts about the last election. Ekiti, Osun and Lagos elections were heavily rigged in favour of the president. This is not to say there were no Yorubas who voted for Buhari, just as there were Igbos or people from other tribes, but Yoruba people did not vote for Buhari as you are led to believe.

As for the looting, Yoruba businesses were also affected. And who says the looters were only of Yoruba origin? You are trying to make this a tribal thing which is unfortunate because you are no different than people going around telling Yoruba people that Igbos are trying to destroy Lagos.

If you want a better Nigeria, support restructuring but know that you cannot achieve it alone. We all must unite to fight against the wicked leadership we have in this country. Not everything is about business, we must secure the future of our children from the hands of thieves that rule us. This has nothing to do with Yoruba vs Igbo. The problem affecting Yorubas also affects Igbos and vice versa.
adadike:
Gbam! Ndi Igbo umunem, Biko nu, unu esokwa na ha! Defend your businesses. Another opportunity to loot your long years of hard work. They brought this disaster upon us, they should do away with it themselves. The last end Sars taught me a great lesson.

I want to assume that you a reasonable person and everything you posted was from the heart. With that said, I must insist that given the facts, this govt is not interested in reform or implementation of policies that are favorable to it's people.

The fact is no one really is capable of the aforementioned. There is no messiah and Nigerians have got to stop looking for a saviour type figure, no such person is coming. The only real solution is to restructure nigeria or split it. To count on politicians to change the same rotting system that they have benefitted from is like preaching to the choir, it will always fall on deaf ears.

People need to realise that this 4th democratic dispensation has lasted for 21 years, like play, like play. That is more than enough time to get a couple things right, but all we have are the same recycled garbage politicians getting astronomically rich whilst playing God at the expense of the entire country.

We must put an end to this madness so that we can secure a future worth living for our generations unborn. Nigeria was never meant to be great, it is a British creation of convenience to facilitate easy movement of resources. In our separate enclaves with the right leadership at the helm, we can be great but together, it will always be a recipe for disaster.
rawfact:
Seun Kuti, please the police (government) is right on this one. Or didn't you digest the letter? Though it is not so good it came as some sort of threat.

But please government should be given some time to effect the 5-Point Demand of the disrupted #EndSARS protest they eventually pledged their commitment to, while also restoring normalcy across the country. Same appeal goes to Sowore.

The Presidency should also caution ministries making life further unbearable for Nigerians, even after a Protest like #EndSARS that unfortunately claimed several lives and properties in different parts of the Nation.

Fuel Hike, PHCN Bill Increment, Proposed Tax Increment while the current 7.5% VAT is already so unbearable for many in a country where multiple taxation is unavoidable, and would also lead to further hike in the cost of transportation, accommodation, food, business transactions and lots more. So government should avoid these heart-shredding policies at all cost.

Finally, this is the period the president should be physically available (not represented) in the media, virtualy every week using every means possible to calm and reassure Nigerians to forgive all inadequacies of government and reveal realistic steps/speed/progress government is taking to make life bearable for Nigerians, particularly the poor and frustrated youths in the country. Patience is not the gift of everyone, particularly the youths but government can make that very possible with prompt and realistic assurances. God help Nigeria o
