Hmmn but by which methods may higher tax-paying disenfranchised and oppressed citizens in Nigeria be incentivized to hold their deliberately deaf Govt more accountable.

They've gone through SERAP, BUDGIT, TRACKA.NG on Twitter. They've shouted on TV/Radio after seeing public service holders loading monies into Agbada on live video, nothing came of it.
Even taking to the streets and dying by the droves to protest basic freedoms like right to safety yet the Govt chose to lie and gaslight.
How do they hold such a Govt up to being transparent, accountable and fiscally responsible while leaking more funds to tax which will most likely get dissipated on politicians' lusts? grin

Well, such protests fail because when politicans are dependeing on oil money (and before cocoa, cotton, groundnut, beninseed, oil palm, etc money)..and not on direct taxes, it becomes more of how the money is shared rather than how the money is used.

The ENDSARS protest failed for the same reason the first coup failed and the same reason occupy Nigria failed....Nigeria's leadership does not rely on thetaxes its people pay. Even the attempt to raise taxes is more often due to falling revenues from our raw materails, not the need to build a taxable dependent income. The minute oil prices go up....

And because ecnomic developmennt is seen as how we share money , national prtests to reform stuff end up being divided along tribal and reliigous lines as one side sees their share of the 'cake' under threat. (It's what provoked the civl war, the divisions and dissesions in the first republic.)

Also, how many people really protested. The protest was mainly a cities things, and most cities like MKakurdi had a protest for one day, and everyone went home.

You want someone earning 30k per month to be paying 70000k in tax per month. Someone hawking okro, you want that person to be paying 70000k in taxes.

Oga, what is your post in IRS make we know? Stop disguising.

And you want a poor country with a gdp far less than that of the US and the UK and a income far less than that of the US and the uk at government and personal level to pay for and fund roads like the US AND UK?

You want to buy a car at the price of a bicycyle"?

And you are calling me a disgusier?

Good evening. If you want a Toyota Corolla car at N5000, good luck .

And please...dont tell me about how much Nigeria leaders have looted because I suport getting all that loot back and using it to build things for the country. The problem again is, what happenss when we use up all the loot for the good of the country.

I doubt this is namibia

It is in Swakopmund and Windhoek,Namibia.Check the link to my thread. Many cities in Namibia resemble parts of Germany.

Why won't you like it when you celebrate mediocrity. Lagos is rated as one of the worst cities in the world.

These are the kind of threads I love to read on NL, people talking on how to make the country work. Not the usual APC vs PDP or Yoruba vs Igbo thing.

But to answer your question

Namibia

GDP per capita :5,931.45 USD

Nigeria

GDP per capits 2250 USD

also

Namibia

tAX TO gdp ratio 29.6%

Nigeria

We are poorer than Namibia and have less income than Namibia.

Why 10 billion?

My guess , we can't build it ourselves, hence borrowed capital and expertise.

Chinese trains are already breaking down, more roi for them.

If we want to be honest our lack of expertise is more damning than the lack of funding.

When I find the paper I did some calculations on last year I will break it down here. The $10b will give us around 50-70% of our energy need if managed very well. No we can’t build it ourselves for now and nothing to be ashamed of. Samsung and Siemens can partner together to deploy and optimize our energy sector, and they can gradually train our graduates hands on.
IMPORTANT: We must make use of two or three companies from different regions just in case war breaks out in any of the regions, so we don’t stay in blackout just because they are unable to procure spare parts from the trouble region...you feel me 30%/30%/40%

Because Nigerians and Africans in general dont have the mental capacity to build and sustain a functioning society

Even black south Africans are not left out
I see some of them running their mouth here

But you guys are just as useless as the rest of us on this continent
The country is decaying under your leadership
Especially that fo.ol called Zuma.

SA with the rampant crime, poverty, highest inequality, highest youth unemployment and every thing bad
Yet you guys have the mouth to talk down on anybody lol cheesy

Black people are mentally incapable as a collective fo build and sustain functioning societies

Period

I do not agree with you on this. The great ancient kingdoms of Ghana, Mali, Bornu, Benin, etc are built by who? The answer to the above question will definitely help in analysing what went wrong down the lane.

Wow see how Africans are praising the most brutal, destructive, cunning race of people on earth. The people that turned the world upside down.
Africans even bash each other for this.

Story story

I repeat
Black folks are mentally incapable of building and sustaining a functioning society

The few kingdoms you listed
Most were just mediocre at best
But the very few that were stellar (like the Benin empire) were the outliers
The inability to not maintain a running society however is not a genetic problem
