If he means residents inside the barracks then it’s false but if he was referring to residents that stay OPPOSITE the barracks( places like onireke and tedi environs) , then he is right. We pay securities levy of about 1500 naira every month and it’s for each compound.

Anyone believing this is a zombie I swear

A whole military barrack that has one of the best infantry in Nigeria (149 battalion) is being guarded by a civilian vigilantes.

This is one of the funniest jokes I ever read on this platform.

I was born and bred in Ojo barracks
The son of a 73Na for that matter
Fin Niger right boys for life

P.s We are barracks children and we are not thieves.... They only pass the hate they have for our fathers on us..

There are high rate of crimes in barracks though mostly perpetrated by barrack boys. It's only officer quarters that are a bit secured.

Barrack children are known to be rouges so if there's unrest in any barracks it's their children giving them hard times.
True tho, those barracks kids are something else. So many kids mixing together to plan their next operation. They are too much and rugged. One soldier (NCO) go born like 6 pikin, that's why most barracks are usually overpopulated with children and where there are so many kids from different background, you're bound to have juvenile deliquency. most of those crimes within and around the barracks are usually committed by those barracks children .. cc erico2k2 Odidigboigbo

Nah true and if one of them is caught nothing will happen cos it might just be one Oga's son, however, the news about ordinary people guarding barracks won't be true though lol can you imagine that!

We do same. We pay vigilantes to guide our part of the estate

Lobatan!!

Barracks is different from an estate. Estate may be owned by NAF or the Army the people living there may not necessary be connected to either of the institution. Those estates just provide inflow and nothing more. You cannot have a commanding officer in those estate unlike a barrack.

Nicholas Ibekwe of Premium Times has alleged that households at the Ojo Military cantonment now pay money to private vigilantes for security.

Mr Ibekwe took to his Twitter page to reveal this and wrote:

I was at the barracks to buy vegetables after the #End Sars# curfew and the woman I was buying the vegetables complained of the insecurity they were encountering on their way to the bush where they are buying the vegetables.

Why are they so bitter, so angry, so frustrated, so disgruntled, so tribalistic, so bigoted, so evil and devilish?

I will consider this fake news till it's proven otherwise.

If an army barrack ain't safe, then the insecurity in our dear country has gone to a whole new level.

I call on the security operatives to profer solution to this menace of insecurity. Law abiding Nigerians can't continue to live in fear.

God bless Nigeria.

Ojo Barracks and surrounding areas which look like sh!tholes is what you are proud of? That place where you have Lagos - Badagry Expressway - one of if not the most horrible road networks I have passed through in my entire life - is what you are happy about? The place where there are no tarred roads whatsoever and even the ones currently being managed were deteriorating including in front of that Anglican abi Catholic Church is what a normal human being is proud of? undecided Worst still, the barracks has lots of so-called "skill acquisition/technical centres" yet common road rehabilitation una no fit do.

Tufiakwa!

Yes! I am proud of it
but wait, did you expect the military to repair federal government road?
Take a visit to Ojo barracks and see good roads

Don't hate on what you don't know
I am a barrack boy and we can never be intimidated.

I should visit Ojo Barracks? grin Where you have good roads is along the Village Axis, other than there, there are no good roads in Ojo Barracks. But then, why do I expect you to know? You probably haven't experienced good roads since you were born. So until nothing exists anymore thereby making things difficult for people to transport themselves, the roads should remain as they are?

"I am a barrack boy and we can never be intimidated" yen yen yen. Use that braggadocio and make your place livable, at least for your children, mothers, wives and girlfriends.

You have women and young children suffering as they pass those horrible roads yet the so-called alfa meils who call themselves men cannot initiate (re)construction of major roads in the barracks. Tomorrow, Humilitypays will blame Nigerian women for the country's undevelopement.

Channel your hate to the appropriate quarters

Stop the hating

Bros 60% of house owners and residents in the estate are military personnel.

We have retired generals (With their armed military escorts) and serving ones living there too.

We also have armed military men manning our main gate.

Yet we still pay vigilante to guide our part of the estate.
