So many times... I conclude that Nigeria is nothing but a mere geographic expression.

Fine, we have been import oil but do we ever have a actionable plan to be self sufficient in producing our own refined oil and may be someday, exporting to other countries?

I am almost afraid to assume that we seem satisfied with the current status quo hence the reason why our refineries remain in shambles.

That's an abberation and a shame on Nigeria being an oil producing country and importing from a non oil producing country. I believe south south leaders are shameless despite the billions they are making from oil. Even if the federal govt does not have the political will to build a functional large capacity refinery can't someone from that area or more team up to build a good independent refinery somewhere. Ofcourse it will be to their advantage. Imagine the enormous petrochemicals we sell out to these foreign countries at zero cost.

What's the hullabaloo,is there anything we don't import from the west into our dead economy.
They killed all the refineries,so that there will be justification for petrol import.They sell the crude and use the proceeds to import fuel.

am just covering my head in shame for this country called Nigeria ruled by clueless, wicked, selfish and corrupt minded individuals who never care about their fellow. I just wish Nigeria never had this crude oil in the first place maybe love and unity would have been amongst us. Nigeria you are a shame among community of nations.

If you continue analyzing Nigeria decadence, one could easily commit suicide. .
Nigeria itself has no problem but the leaders are extremely corrupt..

How much will it cost us to refine our oil here..but corruption will never allow them to do so cos they might not see money to embezzle...

The same fool that block southerner boarder can't block oil refining in other countries in other for our own refinery to work..

China that depends on crude oil importation now export refined petroleum products to Nigeria, a net exporter of crude oil and refined petroleum products in the past.

Honestly, those leading us in this country are goats with no shame and no brain.What is NNPC there for, what exactly are they doing?

Hope is going if not already gone for this country. Some cabals don't want anything to work so they can be making money. It's a pity.

Of course you're right.. it's simple logic.

The Europeans, Asians etc. are only interested in Trade related issues in Nigeria cos of their own selfish interests. They don't sponsor any activity or project on industrialization, just Trade and even the f00ls in Trade line see nothing wrong in that. After travelling to Industrialized cities in Europe, collecting government money, they still come back to complain of no jobs, no employment, insecurity etc

Trade can not develop a nation without strong Industrial sector. Blacks need to start thinking. These foreigners don't want us to industrialize or be self-sufficient.

Instead of closing borders to fellow African countries, close our borders to importation from Europe and Asia and see if things won't change.

Nigeria got yam in abundance, yet we import pounded yam and fried yam, from China and Niger..............
