linguistically speaking, For a computer programmer;

Computer is the same thing as a girlfriend;
They can both make you happy
They can both frustrate you
The only difference is that a girlfriend withdraw money from your account while computer deposit money to your account.

They can: Cook or eat out, clean too, get sexual gratification from Vaseline or moisturizing soap, have a personal relationship to their computers by coding and debugging.

As for emotional support, they aren't emotionally unstable like you lots of girls
