Sorry to bother you.

Please can I send you a mail?

Popoolam:
To anyone that wants to give up, I am begging you not to. Believe me, I can understand the mental torture these applications can give someone.

I am so thankful, I just received my PPR. It feels like I am just breathing well for the first time in months.

I also received the NSE letter, but I submitted only the my Bank statement certificate. In the case of the IELTS, I forwarded them a letter explaining how it was not possible for me to do the exam and get a result before the timeline and attached a waiver letter/mail from my DLI. Please note that this was just my case and I’m not declaring it as Avenue to bypass the IELTS requirement but it is an option in an extreme case.

I got my upfront medical uploaded in a few days by bombarding any and all international IRCC mails I could find. I did this as well as the option of waiting for them to pick my web forms

I want to thank you all for the relevant information. God bless you

Now, onto the passport submission phase.
I would really appreciate any and all information I can get on this. The only thing I know at this point is avoid Lagos vfs.

I am suggesting giving a detailed explanation with evidence how you accumulated N4m while earning N50k monthly.
How long have you been working.

Don't leave anything out please.

So what are you suggesting.....We should just put study leave approved letter With Sponsor’s SOA and forfeit personal statement of account??

Hello People:

Please does anyone know if IRCC will be closed for the year and when? I sent my passport to Abuja on last Friday, got an email from VFS that it's been sent to IRCC Abuja for processing on Monday. I am planning to book a flight for January 3rd, not sure if this is a great idea.

Hello guys. I want to apply for ma economics at the University of Manitoba and I would like to know if I have to send my transcript to WES or I can just upload my unofficial transcript directly to the school. Responses would be appreciated. Thank you

So IRCC finally updated my medical today on GCKey (there was no email notification). A part of me already feels like I've secured my study permit & visa approval; for me, the medical was the major fear.

Applied on June 16,
Upfront medical on Sept 01,
Biometrics collection on Sept 08,
Eligibility review and background check still ongoing August,
No other update from IRCC since after biometrics was updated on Sept 8
Medical updated today — passed!

Waiting for further updates: correspondence letter and hopefully PPR!

Order your GCMS bro, I am currently on this boat. I applied May 10, after medical and all, nothing till now. background check and eligibility still ongoing.
GCMS says I have been approved. So yeah, GCMS will give you some kind of assurance and rest of mind (-ish).

The thread is now more than 700. Is it not time to close it and create PART 18?

I've heard that a million times, bro. It surely sounds like great advice for everyone having a huge anxiety over their application. I wouldn't be going for it though, not yet anyway. If by January I've not heard anything from then, well, I'll have to request for my GCMS notes. But for now, I'll wait—just a little while longer. The year is as good as spent!

Hi Guys,

So I’ve been having ghost updates since Sunday last week. Today makes it 9days in a row.

The two Sundays were the longest (3-4hrs). Other days, it came brief and went back to normal (no changes).

Biometrics updated last week in November, Medicals 1st week in December, Eligibility began 1st week in December also.

Anyone experiencing this too?

Pls house, kindly assist. I have been on this position since Nov 30th , which is bio-metrics completed.

What steps can I take next?
From experience, how long would it take for me to get another update?

I have tried the upfront medicals but they scheduled me for 6th January 2021 after making payment, telling me that they don''t accept upfront till next yr.

Thanks in anticipation

Hello House,

I'm new to this, but here goes:

I need advice on POF, please. My profile is as follows:

* University of Windsor offer letter accepted; deposit of $4,000 paid
* Start date: InterSummer (May) 2021
* Program: Mechanical Engineering (MEng)
* Current degree: B.Sc Mech Engr
* Work Experience: 9+ years engineering experience; currently working
* Intending home ties: family and land

For POF, thing is, I don't have millions saved away for months. What I do have is a GIC for $10,000 (covers LE) and a loan from GTB for N10m (got this only yesterday). Out of this, I have locked away N6m---I had some emergencies--but I expect to have about N10.5m saved before month end. Also, having been promoted this month, I will have even more in my savings by January ending - so, probably 15 to 20m.

My concern is, with school starting in May 2021, do I have enough time to satisfy the VO about my POF? I know there's the option of deferring admission, but I rather wouldn't if I can avoid it.

Many thanks to @Insanity for all the advice he has given me so far. He was the one who actually suggested I post this here, so gurus like @Frankrobbin1 and @Justmellow and others can further guide me.

Your opinions and advice would be highly appreciated!

Hello,

Pls how long did it take to hear back from IRCC after you submitted your IELTS result?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by AyoitsMub(m): 6:20pm On Dec 15, 2020
You do not need to evaluate your transcript for UofM. You can upload the unofficial one for the admission process but you have to send the official transcript from your school (By post) upon approval of admission. Their website is really informative though.

Hi Jonosas,
I'm sure the gurus will have better advice for you but, but I'm just curious on how you got the GIC. The last time I inquired, it was just for some selected countries (Excluding NG), is there a way for Nigerians now? Please enlighten us while you wait for advice. Thanks!

Nigerians are eligible for this
Check with CIBC
Just that it must be a minimum of 10k CAD
they will send you form and wire instructions and your bank account details
Funds must be by wire
You would get your GIC in few days.
When doing GIC make sure to your local bank fill the form accurately as specified.
Get your TELEX/ SWIFT copy from them as well (charges apply)
