Can You Live In Your Parents House And Not Eat Their Food? by Nobody: 2:00pm On Jan 02, 2021

Ok so I'm writing this to ask whether some of you live with your parents but don't eat their food to avoid "see finish". You know how some parents mentality is they feel because they feed you they will disrespecting you and talking to you anyhow and sending you errands meant for 12 year olds.

I feel if I start from not eating their food and be getting my own food the disrespect will reduce until I finally leave them for good. What do you think? anyone has experience? BTW I'm 24

Other than that, take the responsibility of doing one thing in the house, filling out the gas or paying Nepa bills or water bill or buying provision whenever it finishes....

The truth is; If you stop eating their food and maintain your lane, they'll actually get triggered, annoyed and confused. They'll see no reason to feel they are doing much for you, which will surely make them reduce they way they disrespect you.

Just pipe low, go out, come back, return to your lane, support them the way you can, reduce your familiarity and jokes, talk less and act like you give less fvck. They'll actually seat up and make some adjustments.

Not eating in a house you are being accommodated in is a very underrated way of gaining your respect and avoiding "See finish".

Sometimes, it is not about feeding yourself yet in their house.

Most parents don't just want to see you haven't started being a man already yet they cannot tell you upfront.

If the world isn't shifted, aren't children to stay in their parents’ house till the same parent find them a path to standalone? These days papa will use torment to tell you it's high time you left.

. The father drops 200 naira before leaving and the mother shares it 50 naira each to the children case close. . .poverty is real!

That would be rude. Instead, man up and buy food stuff, provisions and toiletries when you can. They would respect you and you would keep your mental health in check because nobody can mentally frustrate you worse than your parents.

Depends on the kind of parents you have, not eating their food doesn't make you any different from what you use to be to them, if you have the money, just leave the house, and be your own man.

Take up a responsibility instead.

If you have enough money ,drop anything you can afford at the end of the month or better still if you can drop /buy raw foodstuffs say when you get your salary or so .

I have placed my parents on monthly payments even before I got married.
5k each every month ,I got a job and made it 20k each every month since about 7 years now, if I don't have 5,7,10 EVERY month. Now including my Mother in law.

If they don't receive alerts or " hear from me", they'll be the ones asking if I'm fine or if I need help especially my dad grin

... Just make sure they know you know you are thinking of them.

Modified: If you have money to eat out ,why not gather it and give to your mom or sisters?

Are you the one paying the rent? As long as you're still staying under their roof, the errand go still dey gbono. So to avoid "see-finish" leave their house.

Wait, at 24, you already consider yourself too big to go on errand for your old man and mumsy? Chilax.

Honor they father and mother so thy days will be long.

Buy food, plan your meals, do NOT make a big deal about this.

Just show that you can feed independently.

RARELY, cook dinner for everybody using everybody's ingredients.

The only thing i can't do in my parents house is to smoke, carry woman come house, drink and get drunk. But any other thing i do without restriction.

If you're an adult living in your parents house try and be doing something like paying light bills or Dstv. Those things will make them respect you. If you just dey eat, see finish go follow

Depending on the type of parents you have shaa,
In btw you are still young son
But
The thing is work on your self first
Always show your parents love,
Also always try to respecting yourself and
Have self control over food, don't always act hungry
Infact always wait for your mom to call you for dinner or lunch an some times turn her down (just tel her you aren't eating for any cool reason)
An by that way you will earn her respect,
