that's the problem,as industrious As Aba is,there is no single standard car workshop here let alone AC technicians. Anyone of you that opens a standard workshop here will be making top dollars. Plenty people are in my shoes. By the way,yes I just refilled the gas and no it wasn't vacuumed. Heck they don't even know what vacuuming means.
this is a problem seriously Aba is lagging in auto technicians, for modern cars

Good day Mosbus. Please what is the best way to clean a system of dirt? The gas/oil that came out of the system is blackish and the technician is saying the system must be flushed with cooking gas then the condenser and dryer must be changed, along with the dead compressor which was killed by the dirt in the system. Car is in Abuja and a Volvo XC90

Menthylated spirit or high thinner with dry air.
Reason is they dry quickly, cooking gas is highly dengerous.

Pls what is the initial problem before now.

I detected that my condenser is licking and not allowing gas to stay in before it escaped. And after topping the oil and resealing it, the ac worked but later, the compressor started messing up too. It won't pick up and its automatic compressor.
Thanks for your prompt response.

Mr Ngutor

It would be wise to replace the entire components of your AC system that carries refrigerant. Modern AC systems like the one that is installed on your car has tiny tubes that makes the conventional flushing (suggested by mosbus) not to be an ideal way to rid the system off this black contaminant.

You would end up repeating this process in the near future should you decide to ignore my post.

What to do?
1. Save up enough money

2. Get good quality replacement parts

3. Get a competent AC repair guy for the job

4. Make sure your lines are vacuumed before recharging with refrigerant. If your repair man does not do this, you have entered one-chance

Good day. I appreciate so much but would appreciate further help if you don't mind.
1. Can you name this components you speak of
2. Do you have a competent AC repair guy you can recommend in Abuja?
3. Does vacuum mean getting air out of the system?
Eagerly waiting for your response

1. Compressor, Condenser, Dryer, Evaporator, any broken/Leaking pipes, replace ALL joints with new rubber seals (very important for holding your vacuum)

2. None I would have recommended Mosbus BUT he's in Lagos and he suggested you flush your AC system. I was disappointed.

3. Yes it does.

Dear Mosbus I need ur advice, this car right here has been giving me AC issue, I have for a month now decided to let it be after several times of unsuccessful AC repairs. Since last year till now, I have changed it’s compressor, condenser, hose, valve and done flushing at every occasion 5times but still, it doesn’t work as expected.

The last one was early last month when I decided to take it to a so called expert at Ladipo for the first time, they replaced everything flushed the entire system and I even had to change the fan and within 5days, it stopped chilling well and was doing low pumping. When I later checked the gas status, I was wowed to see that the gas was totally black.

I live in Ajah Lagos, and I seek for a sincere and best advice.

This is a Corolla 2012, South Africa.

It's either you are very lazy or incompetent. How do you explain the September 16 to January 3 2021 gap in posting on your own marketing thread. Unfollows thread.

Car was parked for 10 months toyota camry 2009 XLE V6 .. the first day I drove it, noticed the AC is blowing hot air ... I immediately went for a refill , after the refill, the Cold air wasn't top notch, also the drivers vent was blowing warm air , but the other vents was blowing cold air ... The AC guy suggested my valve wasn't good , he suggested I should drive it around for a day and give him feedback, a day later all the vents started blowing hot air , I went back to his garage he removed the radiator and Condenser , he checked the Compressor , from his diagnosis he said the compressor is bad .. that it's turning almost at will ( free will) ... He suggested I should change the compressor and condenser also the valve. .. he suggested manual Compressor , that the Automatic compressor will pack up real soon .... When we went to buy the Automatic compressor like I insisted , on getting to the Tokunbo shop , the sellers said they won't give me any warranty for the compressor, it's at owners risk ... Please what's you guys suggestions What happened to my Ac is it a packed up Compressor Should I go about getting the manual Compressor fitted

So sorry for the late reply.
Your car is having leakage issue.
He should take care of the primary problem first before jumping into other issues.
The only reason why he should change your compressor is if the compressor isn't compressing properly and leakage due to longtime packing.which will affect the solenoid flow sensor if there's no refrigerant in the system.
Make sure your A/C technician is using manifold guage for diagnosis.
