Good day all, please I need advice from anyone who has been in this situation before.

I'm a 23year old finalist in one of the south eastern Universities, for some time now my parents (especially my mum) has really been on my nerves complaining how my mates are making it while I'm just here doing nothing, honestly speaking I've been trying really hard to get a source of income on my own but it has been all futile, I could remember in my 100&200level days I wrote 4 different scholarship exams but couldn't get any, even last year I've applied for several online teaching jobs but couldn't get any, I was so frustrated that I even had to do menial job(serve mason) but the workload was so tiring that I had to stop it, right now my mum can't let me rest, she complains about everything I do, if I go out, if I eat food, virtually everything and I'm tired.
I can't wait for school to resume so I'd go and finish my school in peace.
Please how can I handle this situation, should I keep ignoring her or should I leave the house to school(though my school hasn't resumed yet).

I'm really tired.

So sad, don't let the mockery of your parents push you to do anything bad. Just be faithful with whatever legit thing you are doing and God will do the rest for you.

Sit your mom down and explain to her if she wants you dead or alive?
Ask her if she isn't happy that you are trying and comparing you to other kids is not good.
Ask her would she prefer if you made money ritual or legit money.
Let her realise that there are good and bad opportunities out there but patience and prayer is the key to success not hardwork.

I lived an austere life of prayers and studying while in school, although I relate with people alot and the people she compare me with got wealth through deviant means.
Thanks for you advice

This is where you play the art of ignoring.
Re: My Mum Won't Let Me Rest by Karleb(m): 11:41am On Jan 16, 2021
Some parents need to be flogged publicly!

Honestly! See the expectations on a 23 yr old?

Guy, no go kill yourself because of your mother.
If you die, she will live her life.

Tell her to bring herself so you'd use her for money ritual. Tell her it's what others are doing.

I've tried applying for jobs both online and offline yet all to no avail, I was recently serving Mason but had to stop causing it's really tasking health-wise

I don't just understand some parent... For the life of me I can't imagine someone in school being pressurized to go and make money...? Is the studies not meant for you to make it when u finish?...was that not a career you were pursuing?

I don't mean to disrespect your mum but I think she's not fit to be a parent.. her job was to encourage you... not to give you a killer push.. if you do it now like your mate by stealing or Yahoo and get caught.... she will be the first to be dramatic, shedding tears/ rolling on the floor... telling everyone that cares to listen that she warned you

I have 2 advice for u, which are

1. ignore her: go and buy ear piece, any time she is nagging at you, just put your ear piece in your ear and listen to musics

2. Look for a legitimate way to make money, or go and learn any skill like how to barb hair e.t.c

Thank you so much for this, but learning a skill would be quite hard cause I'm not financing buoyant now but by God's grace this would improve with time. Thanks for the advice once more.

I do all that but the insults keeps coming.
Just today I wanted to go to church but I realized my shoe was bad so I told my mum to help me with 2h to mend the shoe, she started raining insults on me
I'm really tired and exhausted

My Mum Nags me alot over petty things most times
over the years I've learnt to tune her out

but with the lockdown living with her was almost hell
but I got used to her.... I just smile back and tell her I'm sorry for things out of my control and in my control

the key is remain calm and endure and in all endeavors don't argue and allow her provoke you to a fight ....most times they are expecting you to say something and that when you Bleep up....

Be patient endure pray and plan your future and when you ball know all her bickering was a sort of motivation and not a stumbling block

peace bro

Thanks but I no longer do the labourer work cause it was affecting my health.
So asking her for money is my only option for now. I just pray things get better.

Many parents try tonpay their responsibilities to their kids. It is wrong but it is a cycle.

For now, focus on doing well with your academics and learn the skill of delayed gratification. When you graduate, hopefully you would go to serve. Work as hard as possible keeping on mind that one must make sacrifices to be successful.

Stay focused and don't be distracted. Take on a job that can sustain instead of insisting on getting one that would make you comfortable. As you get older, you would know what to do when you have the means.
