Yes they are.

We're starting the excavation of a toilet soakaway/septic tank system in this house as from today. More pictures later.

Marking out the soakaway space and starting the excavation works........

13 feet length
7 feet width
10 feet depth to the existing ground level

Works on this soakaway system continues today.........

Still digging, but the workers are on a short holiday.

Just curious, why was the soak away system being done this late in the game?

I thought usually this things are done earlier before now?

The season. We were waiting for the dry season when ground water will be at its lowest before we started to work on this, we had fears of hitting some water inside the ground if we had done this during the rainy season. This soakaway system was paid for about 6 months ago, but I had to delay it, of course with the consequence of paying more for cement and rods

We are going to continue with the soakaway system this week, plus arrangements for

Plumbing and sanitary wares
Cabinets
Painting
Electrical fittings

Digging deeper today, and buying more materialsfor the soakawaysystem.........

Why do you fill the block holes with concrete?
This is the first time I'm seeing something like this in a septic tank.

We do this in areas where there is a high water table. We add lean concrete into the block holes to strengthen the blocks since most of the blocks will be enmeshed in water most of the years.

We did this in another site this year.

Plastering works on the septic tank today.

Apart from works on the soakaway system of this house. We have been working to complete the ceiling of this house. Painting and electrical fittings to follow immediately after.

My brother, they have served me well in some past projects. Although they just increased prices, I will patronize them because of their consistent quality.

We have completed the iron matting of this soakaway system, we even completed the concrete cast today...........
