The one Africans do in their own country should be discussed. Leave oyibo people because they treat you exactly the way you treat yourselves.

Africans practice sexism, tribalism, class and religious prejudice/bigotry, age discrimination....The list is endless.

But you want oyibo people to give you a hand shake when you run to their country. Continue with your delusion.

Please Kindly Share Any Form Of Racism You Have Faced As An African Abroad

It's not all bed of roses studying overseas for Africans, especially Nigerians. We face different forms of racism in one way or the other. Nigerian students studying overseas lets please feel free to share the various forms of racism we have faced.

I am based in China and on so many occasions, some Chinese would rather prefer to stand than to sit next to an African on a public bus. The most annoying thing is that they worship Europeans and Americans.

Na so.

If we Africans can't face our politicians, build our countries and stop migrating, we wont be experiencing all these nonsense.

Without a doubt, Indians are the the most color obsessed people I have ever encountered anywhere in the world.Even if you are 100% Indian, your fellow Indians might still discriminate against you on the basis of the color of your skin, which region of India you come from, what language you speak, your religion, your caste etc, etc. If you are of obvious African ancestry, including African-American, you can find life really, really tough in India if you are going to be in India for a while. Indians can be such unabashed, in your face racists.

I prefer racism to tribalism and Fulani Herdsmen killings with Government's supervision. Racism is safer.

To be candid, I won't feel bad if a foolish white man or woman refuses to sit beside me on the train. At least I will have the space to balance well on the train.

Yeah chinese do worship white people a lot. Especially the Chinese women.

The European guys are well known to pree on high school girls. Funny thing is the Chinese men know this. But they look away or absolutely nothing about it.

Not just chinese people,I think South East Asian have inferiority complex when facing American's and European while they show hate towards Africans...this do not apply to general population.
I studied in South Korea , Koreans will prefer to stand from a seat in a train if a Black guy shld stand in front of them while at the market..the old ladies will insult you if u try to negotiate prices of goods ,you want to buy.I see it unnecessary, since you have the right to accept my offer or reject it..
In the unversity, a white guy will get high scores in assignments when compared with a black guy who may even provide more information. These are my experiences.

Speaking of racism, Most black Africans firstly have to respect and love their color so as to get the respect back from the white folks.i have seen black Africans use derogatory statements like 'black man mentality' and so on. So in excess, you have to respect yourself for others to respect you. We pay too much attention to the Europeans. We try to talk like them, live like them , patronize their products and so on .

I actually don't care about racism, i don't want them to like me, i just want them to have basic respect, i like it when they don't sit next to me, but where i am some have shown great respect, its not all of them that are racist.

I am surprised sometimes, some whites are very decent. There was a time i was in a bank, and its normal sometimes to allow old people go in front of the queue, been old citizens, and i loved that, and i really don't care, when an old person comes in front of me in a queue, because i would love people to do the same to my parents in old age. But there was this woman, not very old, she looks like a heavy drinker and she carried that white privilege's posture, i was about to meet a bank cashier, and this woman with white privilege's just crossed me. Hahaha, i pretended like i did not know, then all the white people in the bank told the cashier, that i am supposed to go first.

Then the cashier told the woman to wait, and i went, lol. ( learn to always compose yourself in other countries, sometimes you don't need to even say anything, just stand).

At least nobody attacks me physically, its better compared to Nigeria, where they will even attack you physically.

Well as a person, i am very composed when i want to be, and i will not care about any person wronging me.

Over all, i am okay, i like space, and the funny thing is that, i don't even care, and most many sit close to me, because where i am they also don't really care.

Nigerians should honestly be the last set of people to complain about racism.

Hypocrisy is when a country plagued by internal tribalism by fellow countrymen gets offended by external racism perpetuated by outsiders.
