I live in Dubai and work as a sales man in a general trading supermarket.
Firstly, There are some customers especially tourists you mustn't near them to make customer service to them, they will try to be moving away from you as a black African, some will even be like crying but if it is their Indians and co no problem
Second was after some few days to week am working in the company. One of the Indian colleague and other started calling me "Kalla" and later added "Kuta" to it. I always vex for them because i dont know the meaning in which i told asked them to call me by my name. All efforts I make to know the meaning none of them tell me b4 I later know that "Kalla" means "Black" while "Kuta" means "Dog" meaning "Black Dog", so i quickly change it for him and fought him. Although they later play with me with it but not every time which I also reply or call them "Geri Kuta" meaning "White Dog" and some of their other abusive words.
Another one is always for either Philippine or Nepale ladies, either u are living in same building and u want to use the lift at the same time or the lift inside the metro station or anywhere, because u are black some of them will not enter with you. They will rather let you go first even if u met them on stand. They may even come out for you to go alone.
A lots is happening ooo

A Caucasian woman fastened her grip on to her purse at the elevator the moment I walked in , while her sister covered her nose stylishly.

Another European refused to sell gold to me at the jewelry shop because I was black.

Is it the awkward stare you get when you walking into the restaurant to eat.

It's a long list, but I don't let that bother me. Especially since I'm just an ordinary tourist.

Tell him when:
-they help to rebuild Africa: Congo , Nigeria and the French speaking countries like Mali
- return all monies stolen from Kemet (Egypt) to S.Africa
- remove all illegal debts flustered on us
-convey truth and reconciliation committee on Assassination of Sankara, Lumumba, Jaja Opobo, destruction of old Benin Empire
- stop funding Jihadists and economic hitmen (black &white)
-apologise for divide &ruleevik system from 19th century , which caused genocide in Rwanda &Nigeria
- pay reparations (like Germany does to Israel) for the black Holocaust slavery

IF THESE ARE DONE, WE MAY GO BACK TO AFRICA PEACEFULLY.
.

So is it because of the above a Yoruba man can't work in IMO state?
Is it because of that NDDC can't put ordinary borehole in oil communities, can't pay scholarship?
Robert Mugabe that chased the whites away, why was he disgraced out?
You guys better behave ya self in another mans land

Most stories on this thread points to how Nigerian are treated abroad, and not really about race. And I'm not surprised. The corruption and Yahoo yahoo that's plagued the country is enough reason for foreigners to treat us like thieves. We're our very own enemies.

Please Kindly Share Any Form Of Racism You Have Faced As An African Abroad

It's not all bed of roses studying overseas for Africans, especially Nigerians. We face different forms of racism in one way or the other. Nigerian students studying overseas lets please feel free to share the various forms of racism we have faced.

I am based in China and on so many occasions, some Chinese would rather prefer to stand than to sit next to an African on a public bus. The most annoying thing is that they worship Europeans and Americans.
Is it Africans or all blacks, cos you might just have a British or American accent?

On the metro, too! Covid has exacerbated the ugly trend you mentioned. These days some Chinese folks would quickly put on their masks on sighting a foreigner especially a black one. Thing is racism (covert or subtle) exists in every country; growing a tough skin and feigning indifference are two ways of managing racism.

We give them too much attention and we always feel inferior.

Here in Nigeria, if I see a white man/woman, no matter the urge to look at them I make sure my gaze doesn't pass once. The annoying thing you will see is most Nigerian looking at them till they feel the importance.

We might never be free from it until we develop our country.
you try to resist urge to look, white man the look scara especially if you are the only black

For most of us living abroad, racism is an everyday experience - something we are already getting used to. Forget what you hear about the USA and how America is a beacon of hope and haven for tolerance and freedom. Racism thrives here, man. Maybe because I am light skinned (dark skinned Africans suffer worse discriminations), but I have encountered racist abuse. Although a few years back, after I migrated, I experienced what I felt was veiled racism. A white friend of mine got visibly annoyed because I toasted a white girl. I didn't know his reasons but I am sure it had to do with racist tendencies in most Americans. In United States racism is more obvious in the southern states than in the northern parts.

I don't even know where to start. Well, I've had to teach kids of 2-11yrs old and you see some of them covering their nose when you get close to them based on what their parents told them about black or they touch you and try to sniff the hand to know if one is smelling bad.
I remember I was on the bus and a mother was telling her 3yr old son in her language that I'm bad he shouldn't try to touch me.
When you get to a gadget store and try to get price for something, some would say to their colleagues they can't afford it so just tell them something

Recently, my gal told me her place of work organized an excursion for all the staff of about 200. She felt reluctant about it because she happens to be the only foreigner(black) there but for the fun of it and experience she decided to include her name when some of her close pals kept asking if she was gonna go with them. Night before the D-day, she got a message that because of the pandemic, she wouldn't be able to go with them (just her alone). She had to cry because it pained her badly.
which country?

I experienced none in The Philippines. In fact, most of them love black people more than westerners, firstly because the percentage of blacks in Philippines is very low and also they think all black guys are basketball stars so when strangers want to communicate they either call you Jordan or James (with so much excitement on their face).
