Indeed you are right. So let me say I am more concerned about what it really takes. From all my research getting accepted by a professor is based on how well the professor thinks I may be of impact in his work.
So I am looking at a PhD in biochemistry, university of Manitoba.
It is clearly stated I have to be accepted by a processor before proceeding to fill the application form.
I want to know if I am able to get a supervisor is that a sure guarantee of getting admission and if yes does that mean the visa application is just a straight forward process. All the schools I am looking at do not require IELTS, would I be able to process visa even if I don't write IELTS
These are only. Few of my concerns.
Hi

Most Masters/PHD Research programs needs you to Contact a Prof. via Mail (Sending of Cold Mails) to get admitted.

I don't know how close you are alrdy in getting the PHD in Biochemistry at U of Manitoba, but you can try widen your horizon and reach out to more PROFessors in the field, so you don't put all your eggs in One Basket

In the link below are schools offering
PHD in Biochemistry
https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=Biochemistry&program_level_merged=Doctorate&program_language=ENGLISH

The contents below will be very helpful in getting the attention of a Professor and also a Possibility of getting a Funded PH.D program

Full guides on how to apply for PH.D programs in Canadian Universities, Secure a Potential Supervisor (Professor) and also get possible FUNDING (SCHOLARSHIP)

For those sending emails to professors
If you want to know why:
-The Prof ignores your email
-The Prof deletes it without responding
-The Prof sends a negative response
-The Prof sends a positive response

Canadian Universities don't require IELTS from applicants English Speaking Countries e.g NIGERIA

For Canada Study Visa Application,
you have two choices
- Regular Channel (Presently with a processing time of 15 weeks)
- NSE route (20 days)

If you must follow the NSE route, it is mandatory of you to do IELTS and get the required Band score,
If you must follow the Regular channel, you don't need IELTS

Is it a must to get multiple ghost updates before a final decision is reached? I have only received 1 ghost update since my eligibility review started on Jan 12th. Winter 2021 intake, applied nov 5th, got NSE request and sent since dec 23rd, gcms notes delayed for 90days Jan 1st. Patience is really a virtue, IRCC is really teaching me this embarassed

Yes ooo..tbis one is hospital/medical business..different from us that are buying and selling ..lol
unforsaken:
I have read your further information and how the study permit application was presented. Here are some thoughts:

Business Management is a good skill that Investors, Entrepreneurs or Managers need to improve their business. So, putting this into your Spouse’s situation, my opinion is that since the business is Hospital (Medical Services), his current work activities will be nice to show the continuous utilisation of his education as a Microbiologist, while he is also taking up administrative roles. In a Hospital organogram for instance the Chief Medical Director is usually expected to be a Doctor and he or she also takes up administrative functions. There is nothing wrong if the CMD pursues business management professional knowledge.

What I am suggesting is that you may reapply, whilst being consistent with your previous profile, however, make your Spouse present himself as a Microbiologist, who is still in love with his microbiology but requires business management skills to support and improve the family business. The business management education will provide management skills which did not form part of his first degree or education.

Also, I do not know if he is being accompanied by you, in any case it is important you also add your work and finance related documents to show that his family will be fine whilst he is studying.

I do hope this clarifies further, my best wishes.

Hello please I have a question if an applicant obliged the services of an agent an applied via paper route and at some point withdraws his application due to personal reasons(maybe fraudulent information). And the withdrawal was a success. If I want to reapply can I make some changes to the information that was initially submitted. THE APP WASN'T REJECTED IT WAS WITHDRAWN and besides the person was also rejected when he applied for usa study visa four years ago .Happy new month everyone

These are only. Few of my concerns.

Getting accepted by a professor is usually the norm in the sciences due to certain limitations like lab space and the necessity of continuity between the student and the supervisor's research. Your aim is to make yourself the most useful student in a lab that is involved in a particular kind of research even as you pursue your own interests.

If you're able to secure a supervisor, your admission is only 50% guaranteed. The other 50% depends on the admission committee and their default requirements. However, if a supervisor actually supports your application, the chances that you will be rejected are pretty small. You'll likely be admitted as long as you meet the academic requirements of the program. However, it is generally considered unwise to apply to just one school for a research program. You should apply to at least two schools, and there are many good reasons for this.

Getting the admission doesn't always mean you'll get funding. This is also a serious factor. Although most research programs are funded, what you get depends on many factors: funding can come primarily from supervisors with grants and if so, the amount can range from outrageously insignificant to stupendously high; it can come from the department/faculty/university and if so, the amount is usually fixed (minimum guaranteed); it can come from internal or external awards, fellowships, grants etc, and these are usually competitive in general; funding may be potentially available but not immediately (this basically means no funding); and it can also come through TAships or RAships, and the amount can vary from little to good enough. Funding may or may not cover your tuition and/or living expenses. If there are shortfalls, you will make them up yourself. The best funding covers everything and isn't tied to any form of work (and you can even work to increase it further).

The visa application process is never straightforward. Whether you're applying as a kindergarten or a PhD student, the application process is complex and made to test your patience. Even with all the funding in the world, IRCC can play fast tricks on any one. However, generally speaking, PhD applicants with full funding don't have so much issues like applicants to other programmes. By virtue of being a PhD applicant, you remove the most important eligibility issue from your application: purpose of study. Since that is taken care of, your major focus should be on home ties and personal assets. Always submit your personal bank statement even if you're fully funded. Make sure you write a convincing S.O.P that clearly comes off like what a PhD student would write. Finally, show that you're well grounded in Nigeria and that you won't vanish into thin air when in Canada grin.

IELTS is not required for the study permit application, except you want to take the NSE route.

Wishing you all the best, and if you have further questions, feel free to mention me and ask them.

Good day all.
I am about to start gathering documents for my visa application and I would like to know how to tackle the following in my LoE

1. Family Ties: I have 4 siblings and I’m the last, mother is late, and father is retired. First sibling is a PR in canada with her husband and children. Second is running her masters In the uk, so its me and the 3rd and my father left in Nigeria. (Do I need to state this things?) how well can I tackle the family ties? Before they say we’re all trying to run from Nigeria

2. Sponsor: My siblings and I share a joint account which contains say 100k CAD, I am a signatory to the account. Do I say I am self sponsored or my siblings need to write me a sponsorship letter?

God bless you for the good job you are doing here sir. Please I want to start processing My masters in Canada, I currently have two courses in mind , public administration and information technology. I have made some research but I haven't really gotten the needed answers.

How much do you think it would cost me sir? I'm talking about a cheap and affordable school sir.
Well you having two courses in mind is good, both having two courses that is not related to each other is very wrong.

You can only do an M.SC in a program you have educational background in (A Bachelor's Degree).

If you studied Computer Science or related course, then you can go for a Masters in Information Technology or related Course

If you studied Public Administration (Bachelor's Degree), then its expected of you to go for a Masters in Public Administration, Human Resources Management (HRM) or other related Course.

First Class or 2.1 is the admission requirement for an M.SC program in Canada

About How much it will cost you,
You would need to check the tuition amount for International students the program in the school you want to study

And also have a compulsory $10,000 CAD available

You can read the information in the link below for some helpful information
https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/558#96300254

There is no cheap school in Canada, also it depends on your definition of Cheap & Affordable Schools

International Students Pay more in terms of tuition than Domestic Students, so financial Readiness is very essential to come study in Canada.

If you have a 2.1 or First Class in Information Technology (Computer Science) you can hustle and work towards getting a Funded Masters program (Fully Funded or Partially Funded). Though not easy, but if you are able to getting, It would help with reduce the Burden of your Finance.

You can read on that in the link below
