Now that Cryptocurrency trading has technically been banned by CBN in Nigeria. We should be expecting redirection of fund from cryptocurrency to stock market in the coming weeks 2 Likes |

samguru: CBN didn't and can't ban crypto currency trading in Nigeria. It is beyond their power. They only instructed banks not to allow their channels to be used for such transactions 5 Likes |

emmanuelewumi: Yes, CBN did not ban crypto trading. They have however successfully blocked the major gateway for large scale trading. P2p will most likely thrive but can't compare to direct access to major exchanges. It is a big blow for crypto community in Nigeria. 2 Likes |

samguru: Rather we should EXPECT more BEARS. CBN action is a clear indication they don't have the interest of investors at heart.. By this time last year USD was trading at #365 while Bitcoin was $9000. today USD is N480 while Bitcoin is $40000. The BARGAIN HUNTERS that keyed into USD & BITCOIN like we advice are smiling to the banks while this Buhari regime wants everybody to PERISH with NAIRA. The WORST is yet to COME. 2008 will be a child's play compare to what is ahead. BARGAIN HUNTERS TAKE NOTE! 7 Likes

Why isn’t anyone talking about OMO bonds Sure it’s less than inflation which is about 15% but it’s much higher than any other non-risky investment Fixed deposits of banks - about 1% Hida of Access - 2.5% Top 10 Investment houses fixed deposit rates - 1% (e.g Meristem) This is the best move for a lazy investor that’s quite secure. Sure they are some investment houses offering 10% but they aren’t top 10 and it’s a risk going with them (FCSL - 7%) Noble serve capital - 10% Perhaps this new raise of OMO bonds interest rates could explain the reason why the market was down in the financial sector for the last two trading days. Also new of devaluation is back with full force. https://businesspost.ng/economy/investors-continue-to-abandon-nigerian-stocks-as-omo-bills-yields-rise/amp/?fbclid=IwAR0ZRPXe-NnsMyDLZ6k6xJHXv9ews_WDZl6cAHDGAc7WrkgMIy33dIY1aw8 https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-02-05/rising-nigerian-central-bank-yields-may-signal-naira-devaluation

megawealth01: ECONOMY: Nigerian Equities Index Gains 50.03% in 2020 despite 41% Drop in Foreign Portfolio Inflows… We expect the equities market rally witnessed in January to mellow in the months of February and March, despite the anticipated dividend payment announcements by corporates in the months, as share prices have risen to levels where the dividend yields appear to have been streched. This is more so as the fixed income yields are beginning to rise… .....COWRY ASSET 1 Like |

longlife20: @longlife, @samguru please do have any info indicating that NPFMCRFBK will NOT pay dividend for 2020 year end? I read thorough above report and there is a confusing sentence that the management has not recommended payment of 20k dividend. At page 52 the report states: 'The Board of Directors, pursuant to the powers vested in it by the provisions of Section 379 of the Companies and Allied Matters Act of Nigeria (CAMA), 2020, has not proposed a final dividend of 20 kobo per share (31 December 2019: final; 20 kobo) from the retained earnings account as at 31 December 2020. This is subject to approval by shareholders at the next Annual General Meeting'. Am I misreading? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by samguru(m): 12:33pm On Feb 08, 2021 |
BAMOFIN1: The report submitted is for 4th quarter and not FULL YEAR AUDITED REPORT. Dividend can ONLY be declared after Audited report is out. From historical perspective, NPF Microfinance has been declaring dividend since 2014 and this qualifies the company to be called a bluechip, also the probability that company will declare a dividend for 2020 FYE is high. 'The Board of Directors, pursuant to the powers vested in it by the provisions of Section 379 of the Companies and Allied Matters Act of Nigeria (CAMA), 2020, has not proposed a final dividend of 20 kobo per share (31 December 2019: final; 20 kobo) from the retained earnings account as at 31 December 2020. This statement is just to guide the investing public that though the company declared 20k in 2019 FYE but has not declared 20k for 2020 FYE |
