FV103 Spartan APC
Huge successes recorded in the sambisa axis, local herders reported seeing fighters of the JAS shekau faction moving north towards Northern Borno and lake Chad axis( I pray the ISWAP faction do them strong thing and also pray it isn't a tactical withdrawal in the face of heavy onslaught). Troops in northern Borno have been alerted that the northern borno/lake Chad axis offensive will begin anytime from now, one only prays more air assets are available to provide support.
All super camps in that area are filled with troops and sufficiently supplied in preparation for the offensive.
NA is currently training new recruits that will hold the liberated grounds(not sure but I think they are those being trained in Falgore forest).
If this tempo is sustained, even the lake Chad Islands won't be safe for the terrorists.

Wow!!

As a reading man - I fail to understand military enthusiasts who do not read - what do you think of an updated FireForce for Nigeria's current travails?

FireForce 3.0 - the Rhodies had the original, we had 2.0, Nigeria updates the concept to 3.0 for the 21st century.

No Daks, no jumpers. Lots of QRF sticks conveyed by a decent fleet of MI-17 to act as stopper groups.
Drones for observation when the situation demands in a particular sector.
A command Bell with door-mount MGs allocated to every sector.

Of course, all of this presupposes everything being done properly: proper training, proper rotation, proper acquisition of requisite assets, proper logistics etc.

19 Killed, Many Missing As Bandits Attack Kaduna Community

No fewer than 19 persons have been confirmed dead after bandits invaded Kutemeshi Community in the Birnin-Gwari area of Kaduna State.

A resident of the community, who confirmed the attack to SaharaReporters, said several calls to security agencies were unattended to, leaving the people at the mercy of the bandits.

He said only a few volunteer vigilantes responded to the emergency calls after the bandits had retreated to the bush.

Bashir Lawal, who narrowly escaped death, said, "Early Sunday morning, 19 people were confirmed dead, while several others were injured and many people still missing. Those killed are set for burial.

"We called several times for security reinforcements, but only a handful of volunteer vigilantes came after the bandits had retreated to the bush around 7pm yesterday.

"In recent days, armed bandits had displaced thousands of people from different communities in various parts of Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State."

The state Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the incident on Sunday.

He listed the names of people killed as Malan Sani Barume, Yahaya Bello, Amadu Dan Korau, Samaila Niga, Jamilu Haruna, Lawal Majiya, Dan Malam Rabo, Dauda Kafinta, Hassan Mai Makani, Bashir Haruna, Lawal Ali, Mu’azu Haruna, Mai Unguwa Sa’adu and Harisu Bako.

He added that those who sustained injuries had been taken to a neighbouring state closer to Kutemeshi for urgent medical attention.

Aruwan said, “Some shops were also looted with valuable items carted away. Some of the injured (persons) have been moved to a neighbouring state closer to Kutemeshi for urgent medical attention, while others are in transit to an orthopaedic hospital in Kaduna.

"So far, only the 14 corpses have been recovered from Kutemeshi. The Kaduna State Government will provide updates on any emerging developments."

This comes barely three days after six persons were burnt to death during a bandits’ induced auto crash in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.

The Fire force concept is genius! 21st century tech even makes it menacing yet the more. It's one thing I regret that we didn't get from Eeben and his guys.

Its one of the better forms of deep space interdiction. Our NAF Regt has this form of capability on a grossly limited scale

Educate your people, invest in them.
And accountability matters ( For everyone), professionalism, etc
Laws that are actually being enforced.
Here in the USA if you are walking on the street while holding a cup with alcohol in it, you will get arrested, cops don't listen to "I'm sorry" here, once you break the law, they go after you.
But in Nigeria, most people don't even know what their rights are or what laws are in place. Shoot, the issues of that country is of high magnitude that in other to have that change we need, there must be continuity, not something one man or president can do, it has to be a decades long process.
Here in the USA, the people are tamed, by the police, they are everywhere, it's the opposite in Nigeria. If you have a huge population, you need strong laws and those who will enforce them

Cabotage laws that qatar lost was different from the stipulated International Rivers Laws

Do you know what even make a river international.. let's start with that first

Waste of time, what you should be explaining is why the land, sea & air blockade succeeded with Qatar despite intl rivers law.
That's the only logical card you need on the table right now!!

NOTORIOUS BANDIT AUWALU EMBRACES PEACE, SURRENDERS 20 AK47 AMONGST OTHERS IN ZAMFARA

Lasting peace seems to be on the horizon in Zamfara state as an erstwhile notorious bandit, Auwalun Daudawa and his group yesterday 8th February 2021, surrendered 20 AK47 rifles and other dangerous weapons to the state government.

In a brief ceremony at the premises of the Governor’s office, Auwalun Daudawa handed over the weapons and also, along with his team mates, swore with the Holy Quran not to revert to his old ways.

Auwalun Daudawa said he was not surrendering his weapons because he and his team were tired of their old ways.

In recent times, the military, under its Operation Hadarin Daji, has intensified its onslaught against bandits operating in the state, neutralizing no less than 52 of the dastardly criminals. It could be for this reason that the bandits have decided to lay down their arms and embrace peace. The troops have sustained an aggressive posture against the bandits forcing many of them to flee the state or surrender.

Recall also that renown islamic cleric, Sheik Dr Ahmad Gumi also met with various bandit groups recently, calling on them to surrender and embrace the ongoing peace initiative in the state.

It was discovered that in some communities, the informants not only leak vital information to the terrorists but harbour them in their houses and settlements and assist in planting landmines against Nigerian troops.

Imagine how effective this would have been if they had actually thought about preventing further importation and production of small arms while mopping up the ones already in circulation.

KDSG Security Update: Monday 8th February 2021

Troops recover weapons from bandits belonging to Kachalla’s group

Troops of the Operation Thunder Strike (OPTS) have reported the recovery of four (4) AK47 rifles which were part of a stash belonging to the late bandit, Nasiru Kachalla.

According to the report, the weapons were recovered with the aid of local human intelligence sources.

It would be recalled that Nasiru Kachalla was killed late in December 2020, during a clash between his gang and a rival group of bandits, which occurred in a forest around the boundaries of Kajuru-Chikun local government. The clash was triggered by a dispute over a large herd of rustled cattle

Kachalla and his gang were involved in several crimes, including high-profile kidnappings, killings and banditry on the Kaduna-Abuja road and also in the Chikun/Kajuru general areas.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai noted the report with thanks, and commended the security agencies for recovering the weapons. He urged them to pursue all available leads towards exposing more arms caches used by bandits.

Efforts to recover more of such weapons are in progress.

Signed

Samuel Aruwan
Commissioner, Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State.

The 2nd of Paramount's Sentinel leaving Cape Town for it's new home in Nigeria.

Kudos to the team at Nautic Africa for successfully completing this despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 lockdown.

"The multi-purpose vessel is destined for the GoG where it will be utilised for (IOC)-related assignments, as well as escourt patrols for larger vessels.

News: Larger naval versions (40m & 47m ) have been been made available due to rising interest from navies, and will be offered globally to bolster military and fishing patrol operations across EEZ waters."

There is serious communication gap between the land forces that should have been fixed a very long time ago.

Hope they didn't cause much damage?
