Great Response!
TWoods:

Why?

1. They are a sovereign country, with rules governing the basis for issuing a student visa.
2. Applying to schools outside your country comes with risks... there is no guarantee that an admission automatically obligates the country to grant you a visa.
3. Ultimately, the "wicked and thoughtless people" are your leaders who failed you, in not providing you with a decent educational system so you don't have to rely on the lottery that is a visa.

Thanks a lot. Will go ahead and apply.

Check Purdue university Forte Wayne... No GRE, no TOEFL required.

Good day scholars.

Anyone with strong profile in mathematics can apply for fall semester at Purdue University Fort Wayne. I had a talk to our departmental chair yesterday, he said though they have peoples on ground but advice me to advice anyone with strong profile to go ahead with application.

No GRE and No TOEFL required, and possibly they can waive application fee if requested.

Clarification on their assistantship base on my experience, if you pay your accomandation, health insurance and deficit the money as finished, but this is just a means to get out 9ja.

Thank you all.

They are all good options, especially 1 and 2. Go with the one that gave you funding or the one with the lowest deficit.
Also know that age can be a factor for undergrad. E.g someone that is 25 years has slim chances of getting visa for undergrad compared to someone that is below 20.

Hi House, I recently paid for the US student VISA, but yet to start my DS-160 application. I don't have my Sevis number yet either. I'd like to save an early spot for interview. Can I go ahead to book a date? Is it possible to update DS-160 confirmation number and Sevis number after booking an appointment?

It doesn't really matter. He can do either first. He can pay the visa fee, book an appointment and fill his ds form later. The important thing to know is that you must complete the form, submit it and put the form number on your cgi appointment page and you should do these before 72 hours to your interview

Hello gurus in the house....I greet all of una doggedly..
I'm a recent graduate of Environmental Biology/Zoology from a prestigious uni here in 9ja...and I graduated with a strong 2:1, 3.89 to be precise..

I'm yet to mobilized for service but I will be going when ever registration starts for prospective Corp members for 2021
I want to ask....which top 5 schools offer full or partial funding to students coming from biological science background?
What is my chances of getting a full funding or GA putting my cgpa into consideration?

Congratulations,
According to https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/study/student-visa.html, which is the official site of the US Consulate;
"Student (F and M) visas for new students can be issued up to 120 days in advance of the start date for a course of study. However, you will not be allowed to enter the United States on your student visa more than 30 days before the start date"

From September intake..
I guess your day of earliest resumption should be August ending...

So with that in mind you can book any day from April 25th...
I suggest you book now. Cos currently all days in March and April are completely or almost filled up.
Also booking early enough would not put you in so much pressure if God forbid you are denied visa. You would be able to comfortablely reapply before your school resumes.

You really need to drop your shoulder pads, and get mentorship. Starting with your 3.89 as a strong 2.1

For the schools, check Google, and find out their requirements. Your chances of getting funding depends on your profile (test scores, transcript, publications, sample paper, SOP, LOR, CV and other things that may be required). Also, smart applications

If no, then wait until you get it.

Please go ahead. Appointment spots are fast filling up at the embassy. It's also good you get an early date so you can reapply if things don't go as planned

You won't get a good and well ranked school in this category. The unranked ones that will admit you will frustrate you at the embassy

I have a BSc in geology and MSc in petroleum geosciences but considering a career switch to IT. I am looking for schools that can accept non-computer science grads for Msc computer science or data science. Please any suggestion or advise will be appreciated.

Note: I have a fairly good knowledge of python programming language and completed Udacity Data Analyst Nano degree

Most schools in the USA accepts graduate from ANY DISCIPLINE into computer and data graduate program. You will only need to take undergraduate pre-requisite courses before starting your graduate program proper

There are no "professionals" here. Just people that have gone through the same journey you are about to embark on. I would suggest the following:

1. "Biological sciences" doesn't say much of anything. You need to figure out exactly what program you are interested in.
2. Then find a couple of schools that match your interests - i.e. whether they offer your major, Masters or PhD program, research interests, entry qualifications, tuition costs and cost of living.
3. Narrow down to 3-5 schools.
4. Start gathering application materials (find out if you need to take standardized tests).
5. Apply - strongly suggest you identify a potential mentor. You'll need it at your visa interview at least.

Asking folks to do the work for you is not going to help you. No one would anyway. Best of luck.

Good morning everyone,

I haven’t slept as I have spent all night looking for countries with affordable undergraduate program for my brother.
I have read this thread but half way in I realized we are all on different paths and budgets.

Please, which universities can we apply to for a teenager and costs around 3M per annum? I know there are lots of schools but google isn’t streamlining it for me either.
