This is why it is always good to be good. The people he influenced and helped during his reign must've written to the judge and maybe feds to do a little thing for him and he'll return the favour after. Even that his pastor must've helped big time.

So sad that he louded his money and never kept it low, balling like a real billionaire. I hope after the jail sentence the crazy Americans don't insert a micro chip on him to cause his health a serious discomfort

Obinwanne is a wise guy, although making money illegally, he fronted a legit and clean company. Was able to launder his image too, to be able to get to Forbes and even give lectures to havard students. To him yahoo was just a way to create capital and funds to pursue and acheive his multi billion dreams which a devilish country like Nigeria have already dashed. He was also wise enough to coperate with the feds to aid investigations, and that fast tracked his trials and sentencing.
As for hushpuppy, he's gone and gone forever, upon all his money, no visible investment in Nigeria or anywhere to front his money. Obinwanne targeted multi billion caterpillar company, but hushpuppy decided to divert ventilator funds at the beginning of a pandemic. And having known he's been caught, instead of pleading guilty and cooperating he was busy hiring expensive lawyers and claiming not guilty. Fbi will transfer his case to a judge whose spouse, child or close family was killed by covid 19, his trial will still be extended for him to spend his remaining money on lawyers, he'll be finally sentenced, and trust me, upon his release he'll be injected with moronic injection. Americans will make him a dimwit if he's ever released.

I dey tell you.

I envisaged nothing less than 30 years behind bars for the møtherfucker.

But it seems the US justice system has got some loopholes that any smart criminal lawyer could exploit to get favorable sentences for their clients.

I think that's what happened in this guy's case.

Hoshpoppi might even end up getting 2 years at most. grin

He's lucky. A typical African American would have gotten 30 years for that crime cos most times their families can't afford great lawyers.
If Invictus behaves himself in the prison, he will be out in 4-5 years' time. Hopefully, he will turn a new leaf. Every jail gives good-time credits. Sometimes, the good-time credits are specified in the sentence. Some give like 5 days off for every 30 days of being a good boy. Some get 15days (50%) of good time credits. So, a year prison term is technically 6-10months. Also, his lawyer can make a plea after 3 or 4 years. He committed the crime, he has to pay the time. We are waiting for Hushpuppi's sentence.

Go fvck yourself! An average Igbo man complains all of the time. if good befalls you,why don't you guys compare yourselves with those who have less? Why are you always complaining? Is this a curse or something? This is utterly stupid and disgusting! How can you wail over 10years sentence considering the gravity of his crime? if I have my way, the judgement would be death by starving. Do you know how many people who have suffered owing to your greedy brother's wickedness? You are here saying if he was white, he would have been given less sentence. Mention two whites that committed similar crime with a less sentence. if you can't, may you find nothing good in your life. Na complain you go do till you kpeme

You are such an idiot and the long arm of the law will catch up with you soon. You want a Nigeria that looks like the US but you want to continue living a reckless life as a citizen.

Get this into your thick skull, all the money he might have stashed away would have become valueless in 10years time as Inflation would have set in. Not to talk of emotional trauma and depression that would overwhelm him.

This Invictus that you see today being sentenced, you will never meet no more as sadness and frustration would have finished him inside the prison before he is released in 10years time, if he ever makes it out.

There’s no hidden money. The reason he only got 10 years was because he corporates with the FBI. Do you know what it means to corporate with FBI?

I don’t think you understand that statement. Every single dime he has earned from fraud, including the fraud money he put into legitimate business will be seized and auctioned.

He will serve the full 10 years because this is not a movie lol
