as far Nigeria concerned. They might have employed a less qualified peep for the post u interviewed for and den employed the more qualified candidate as his junior officer, so u can do the work while the person rakes the pay.

On a serious note, Ur offer should come with all the details u need. Ur salary, upfront, quarterly and any other fringe benefits.
Just follow dem small small till u get ur pay grade from official source first.

Today, I received a mail containing my appointment letter and I see the gave me grade level 3 step 2. Although it is a newly commissioned government agency and I am a university graduate with about 5 years work experience. Now I am confused with the grade level I am being offered.

Secondary, I currently have another appointment letter with a private company lacated in the north east, the salary is good with allowance and the working condition is not so bad, I would have loved to take that offer but the location is not favorable to me as my family is scattered between the north west and south west so going to the north east to work will be a difficult thing for me.

I'll be glad if I could get your opinions on this, I don't know how much the Government job would pay yet.

A University graduate in any federal parastatal today will either be employed with Conraiss 7 which is same as level 8 depending on the salary scale of the place.
If it's Law or Medicine or vet medicine, she gets to be placed on level9 direct.
Level 3 is for school cert holders.

That's to say our darling Holy president who is working with school cert is a level 3 worker?

Lemme just make some mouths water.

If it is what i think it is.... It was almost 20 times minimum wage.

Coincidentally, I had a similar decision to make 7 years back. I chose the North East and I have zero reasons to regret. 20 to 50.

PS- Collect first salary before making a decision as someone has said. Leave that "family" thing out of your decision-making.

No one likes a brokeass, siblings and parents alike.

u need to know the type of salary scale they use for the agency.
Starting point/scale for a new medical Doctor in federal government agency is usually conmess 3 step 3. So u need to know the scale

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Basic salary per/annum - #320,000 do not ask me how I arrived at that. (Other allowances will be paid alongside)

You will be entitled to 30 days paid leave period

If the agency is revenue generating agency, you will be entitled to 13th month and outfit allowance.

At every JANUARY 1st, your step will increase by 1

Your promotion will be every 5 years

2 years after the confirmation of your appointment, you are qualified to seek approval to further your education.

After the completion of 5 years in the university, you will be upgraded to GL - 08 step 2

You will be the messenger all through the years before you get to level 8. You will need plenty of patience and muscle to survive that.

A boy/girl presently in Ss1 will enter same agency after NYSC and be your oga. If it's a uniform agency, my brother, you go salute that boy or girl tire.

If you are cool with the conditions of service, you may sign the dotted line.

Entry level for graduate (fresh) is usually gl7. This your GL 3 is very low and it's for non graduate. Don't ridicule yourself with that job, that's the level of cleaners, gardners (O level)

entry lvl waec.this country enn.lvl 3.na wah o .not rven b.sc which is 7 step 3..bross run from your life. If u want to live long.those of us in 8 step 3 cant even affotd fuel again.we don park motor...a word is enougu gor the wise.how will u survive with 38k monthly

There agencies that start fro such grade level...u are placed on grade level 9...that's not a lower grade

the thing weak me.no wonder the interviewer kept saying he is too qualified for the job and he said he would accept it then grow..these people will be decieved into the job..but make conversion time reach they will discover they can nerver cross 6...how can soneone survive with 38k..no concience so now them wan turn graduates to cleaners..messengers gardners and people way they on gen.i am bleeding right now.so painfull .how did we even get here..

From my experience so far, A friend of mine got a federal job, but the computer operator made a mistake wen typing the appointment letter. And wen my friend complained, they corrected it. Don't conclude yet, go to the right office and state ur problem

It might not be the general civil service scale, check the salary first , it should be on the same letter.

Also go to the organization and ask questions/ complain. Haba.

It might even be a typo, stranger things have happened.

This is the same issue am facing in my place of work. Imagine am on Level 4 for the past 4 years and am working my a$$ out. I do almost all the core duties. Others sit and wait till month end to get their fat pay while me the Jaki takes the smallest pay.
I just pray for a better job let me leave.
