Never be in a hurry to part with your cash, always take your time to do your due diligence

Being reputable doesn't necessarily mean they haven't had any issue before, but how fast they resolved such issues speaks louder volume.

++ Background to this issue

I got 2 Pro maxes (TLC) from ** and repeatedly insisted that the phones be mint - a 64gb & a 256gb one. I asked that the 64gb one be confirmed as mint and he went ahead to send me a video of the phone confirming that its mint (it's hard to check out iPhone screens when the screen is on, which is what happened)

Phones got to Nigeria and the 256gb variant was extremely scruffy and not as initially shown. I complained to the seller and he directed me to Obas22Obas, Alabama picker that phones were gotten from him

After back and forth arguments (the matter long), with him claiming that the phone was clean and that I had too much expectations for a Used phone, he finally agreed to refund me. Completed on good grounds

++ Some weeks later, I paid for an 8+ (120K), red to Ojsezzy. Phone was also confirmed as clean with no issues

Phone arrived in Nigeria and handler immediately told me screen had been changed and phone was rough - this was immediately communicated to Ojsezzy (I was not aware from the beginning that phone was from Obas22Obas)

I and my handler decided to sell the phone as is to someone who was known internally (even with 0 profit)so as to avoid reputational damage due to the condition of the phone. I also did not want to talk to to Obas22Obas as a result of our initial issues stated above (I do not like back and forth arguments)

++ The phone was returned 24 hours later with issues below -

- Phone itself is very rough
- Changed screen
- Over heating
- Speaker issues (you can only use the phone on speaker)
- Camera also has issues (possibly due to the screen which has been changed)

++ I again communicated this to the seller and I was again directed to Obas22Obas.

I spoke to Obas22Obas and he was extremely aggressive about it, claiming that he picked the phone himself and there is no way the phone could have these issues.

After back and forth arguments, he agreed to refund and then mentioned that there should not be a next time transaction between us and if there is, he would not respond to my issues unless in his group. Note that, I never was rude, did not insult him and only demanded for a refund, or at the very least, an agreement on how to go about the repairs


Hearing that, I issued a disclaimer on the group I met the seller, asking that transactions that involve or are through Obas22Obas should not be sold to me for any reason, as I do not have the strength for back and forth arguments and wahala

++ I guess one of his boys screenshotted my disclaimer to him, and baba started to claim I wanted to spoil his name. He started to chat me up and mentioned that he will make sure i do not receive a dime because I 'Spoilt his name' and then proceeded to block me on Whatsapp LOL


++ Some days later, he unblocked me as said by Ojsezzy and demanded that I apologize to him (e no apologise to me for the bad phone o)

To let sleeping dogs lie and make e no be like say na me get wahala, i apologised to him. He still went and told Ojsezzy that I have "an arrogant ego" , he will humble me, this and that , then blocked me the second time (this part jusy dey funny to me lol)

++ I honestly hate that I had to raise this issue on the dispute thread as I would rather remain lowkey and fix issues offline.

This is not the first time I have had phone issues with people via TLC but we always find a way to resolve it without it degenerating to this level. If a phone is not clean or has screen issues, I mostly sell as is even if it means making 5K loss on it (some days you lose, most days you win. Na so life be)

It has been more than 10 days of being blocked and unblocked, multiple back and forth discussions over 120K with no headway in sight

That is a very valid question , refund ought to be between the reseller or deal hunter and the buyer not picker , the deal hunter or reseller ought to be the one to take up his own case with the picker .

Maybe the buyer bought it from the picker not that the picker helped him pick it.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say.

Also, the seller might "resold" as a middle man and would only have his profit left with him.. Hence, the reason he directed the buyer to the picker.
