If I'm the president of this country today, I will do to Dangote what Putin did to all those Russian oligarchs.. Deflate him, totally!!!
At this point, he's becoming a great danger to the Nigerian economy that a surgical operation to extricate him from the Nigerian business environment has become even more germain..
We can't build the economy of a country of 300 million people around the primitive ambitions of one man!

Of there's anyone I respect it's BUA, that's why he's going to be a good leveraged against Dangote sole monopoly. He's coming on stream 2022 and he does business, business and doesn't go about sleeping in beds with politicians to control and weaken industries to have them so weakened that he displaces an entire industry

How do u know rabiu doesn’t sleep in bed with politicians? Leave that story. How did he make his money? Dangote has only been more consistent over many years. Also Nigeria is still import dependent.

In anycase the government doesn’t have to listen or agree with him unless it’s beneficial to Nigerians also.

As expected, when you make flawed assertions that you can not support with sane and rational facts, you start looking for excuses to dodge around and distract from your flawed reasoning.

It was flawed and shallow to attribute price increases to Dangote, there are tons of products by countless manufacturers and processes that Dangote is not in control of so is he also responsible for their market and pricing decisions?

Is the price of beer and so many products in the market the same as years ago?

Was Dangote also responsible for price skyrocketed increases that occurred even before Dangote was born?

Unfortunately for you, this is a public forum where ideas are floated and challenged and you don't get to dictate who quotes or doesn't quote you.

I can assure you, I won't hesitate to highlight the flaws in your flawed and not well-thought-out comments.

Should Nigeria also disintegrate because the same Dangote single-handedly brought back to life the dead ANAMMCO truck manufacturing plant in Enugu with N63 Billion investment and 3,600 truck order, creating jobs and putting food on people's table in Enugu and beyond?

When people go into business, is being the best, largest, and dominant player the primary and ultimate goal?

As a savvy businessman or even a pure water seller, is your aim and ultimate goal in life to sit around selling your pure water the same way others around you are doing or to progress by expanding your operations, buying equipment and space to expand, to make and distribute more pure water than all the pure water sellers on your street? Is this not a basic capitalism spirit and nature?

Do you people honestly think people go into business saying to themselves that they don't want to grow, make more money, dominate and be better than the rest of the market?

This kind of shallow thinking is why many people don't make it in life.

The sad effect of shallow thinking, hatred, and bitterness I guess.

BOI stated that the facility can be accessed via letters of credit issued for the delivery of specified modular refineries and gas processing equipment to qualified Nigerian companies establishing petrochemical facilities under the Modular Refineries and Gas Flare Recovery Programme.

A modular refinery refers to a mini refinery which is easier and relatively more cost-effective to build in terms of capital and time than the traditional refinery. According to Cenam Energy Partners, modular refineries are usually available in units from 4,000 to 30,000 barrels per day (bpd), and having lower output capacity than the traditional refineries.

A modular refinery’s equipment are manufactured in controlled conditions, fully assembled and tested prior to overseas shipment, and installed at a client’s site in much less time than a traditional refinery.

Data obtained from the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) showed that 22 modular refineries were licensed in the first quarter of 2017 with about 1.429m barrels daily crude oil refining capacity. Another 10 licences were granted in the second quarter of last year bringing the figure to 32 licenced firms.

At $50,000 per license for modular refinery, a total sum of $1.6m has been generated from the licensing by DPR within the last three years.

A total of 38 operating licenses have already been granted by the Federal Government to establish modular refineries in the Niger Delta.

https://ndlink.org/fg-secures-n179-9bn-loan-china-modular-refineries/

1. There are 38 refinery licenses out there Dangote or no Dangote

2. There's a $500 million FG loan facility for the license holders to tap into to build and operate refineries.

3. If the idea is to give Dangote any form of monopoly in the refinery business, why is the same FG supporting new refineries and buying 30% ownership in the new refinery in Imo state?

4. If the idea is to give Dangote any form of monopoly in the refinery business, why is the same FG supporting new refineries and even giving you licenses, money, and waivers to build your own refinery?

Was any of this done by previous administration or any administration in the history of Nigeria? No.

This is why it's always sad and disheartening to read ignorant, bitter, hateful, and misguided comments by many Nigerian youths, they just can not educate themselves and reason beyond hatred, bitterness, and petty tribalism.

Of course, we can have far more refineries if Government allows marketers set the price of petrol.

You can dodge, shout and hide behind lame and irrelevant escape routes like mudslinging all you want, but highlighting and laying bare your flawed and backward reasoning is not mud-slinging.

1. You said Dangote is enjoying monopoly and I asked you to show us the list of the FG denied the same opportunities and advantage given to Dangote, till this very second, you can not produce that list or any =thing to support your lies and claims with.

1. I also exposed your flawed claim by showing facts that the FG is actually supporting and helping to build other refineries in Nigeria.

The new refinery in Imo state was partly owned and financed by the FG so where is the FG giving Dangote monopoly while at the same time the same FG is financing other refineries in the SE and SS.

2. The FG not only gave out 38 licenses, but they also have loan facilities and waivers for interested license holders to tap into to build and operate refineries.

If you don't want to be challenged and corrected, then stop lying or passing out misinformation, some of us are not shallow, we are not kids and you can not insult our intelligence with lies and misinformation.

Cement prices in Nigeria are higher than that of other countries where Dangote has cement plants! Yet he has licences for limestone here in Nigeria! A recent publication on the 22nd February 2018 by SweetCrude, Abuja, stated that the Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated talks with potential financiers to contribute finance to investors in modular refineries in the Niger Delta region.

Such financiers include Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), the Bank of Industry, Infrastructure Bank, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), State Governments, etc.

The aims of government support are to address concerns of increasing demand for premium motor spirit (PMS) and diesel, and to abate large-scale importation of fuels.

In addition to easing financing issues, government is prepared to guarantee regular crude oil supply to investors and to provide other incentives such as custom duty waivers, tax reliefs, etc.

These are welcome developments, even though these initiatives could have been implemented some decades ago. Still, “it is better late than never”. In my previous article, titled “Five Minimum Conditionalities for Development of Greenfield Refineries in Nigeria”, I detailed the five issues that need to be resolved in order boost the construction of in-country private refineries.

Discounted prices for crude oil
Project support by State Governments
100% guaranteed crude oil feedstock
Guaranteed product off-take and evacuation
Guarantees of foreign and domestic loans.

Look at all the awoof the FG is offering to refinery investors.

Fiancing
Waivers
Cheap oil
Tax relief

And some people still want us to believe that Dangote is enjoying FG monopoly.

Last time I checked, Dangote is not getting free or cheap oil from the FG.

Another lies and propaganda peddler, the same privileges you listed from financing to loans, access to cheap oil, tax relief, and waivers are available to interested Nigerians, they are even begging you to come forward and build your own refinery, they will even give you local or international loan guarantees.

The FG invested 30% shares in the new refinery in Imo state, they even topped it with access to oil fields for cheap oil to refine.

Info and education are available free on the internet, but you people just love to lie, confuse yourselves and make up your own stories all because of hate and bitterness.

This your argument is so nonsensical that calling it nonsense is actually a compliment.

almost everyone who commented was simply pointing out the potential monopoly being created by Dangote yet the only thing you chose to see was his tribe, haba.

so if you cannot compete with Dangote then you cannot see or comment on what is right or wrong?

about your employment creation nonsense, does it mean that if there is no monopoly and crony capitalism then no employment will be created?
