It's a box too, only that it has it's own dimension. The real name is swarm trap.
How does it work? U place the box in a strategic location where it can be easily sighted by scout bees searching for a new home that can accommodate the new colony. Once they locate the box, they go in, they feel the space therein, if conducive, they go back and inform others that they've found a new home. Some workers bees will follow them to confirm, then they go back to convince the colony to move to the new home. By this, your box has caught a swarm. U can then move them to where ur bee farm is and transfer the content of the swarm trap into ur bee hive. Now they've got to their permanent abode.

I appreciate everybody in this forum. What a good job. I just came across the thread, it's educative. I hope to also be of help to as many that are building interest in this niche. U will never regret u did, because u'll be dealing with nature live. In beekeeping, everyday is new lesson.

E been get one man when dey keep honey bee dem for my village. One day I been day for farm, where the man been keep some box when be say honey bee dem dey inside.

I know sabi the ting when let dat honey bee v\fess that day, but dem vess no be small ting. Na so I come see di man when dey keep dem when dey wear white uniform, come pick race begin dey run for inside farm like antelope, upon how di man get biggi belle.

Di man run sotay he pass where me I stand, but God so kind the honey bee nor even look my side at all, as dem just dey follow dat man dey run like teef.

Na dat man dem just face, as dem pursue am over 200 meters full speed. If di man fall down as him dey run, he nor waste time to stand up again and run pass before sef.

Di matter get as e be dat day, my broda, because na small remain when di honey bee for cash dat man and himbar am final.

From day day going, any pesin when I see say been wan try dat honey bee business, I go warn am say make him no try am, if him love life.

Monkey no fine, but him mama love am, and man pikin when no wear any cloth nogo fiti dip hand for pocket to do yanga.

This is a very good thread. I hear Langstroth hives yield the most but the challenge is accuracy. And thanks for the tip about spraying agrochemicals only in the evening

As bee dangerous, we fit handle dem as beekeepers. May be the man wear protective overall wey don tear. With my smoker and protective bee suit, bees can not sting me enmasse. The only incident i had was when there was a tear on the netted face of the beesuit without me knowing. Omo! I picked race ooo. However, it has always been fun and Safety First
