Again, the kind of emotional comfort that children can provide to a woman is not the same as that provided by a husband. Women cannot be fulfilled without husbands, regardless of what they claim.

I only brought that up to point out the fact that if some men do not seem to be stepping up, it's because women have been setting the wrong standards lately. Our grandmothers never questioned the value of a man to society, nor felt this state of restless discontentment. If you ask what men can bring to a woman's table, you've got a list of it. Now ask yourself; how many of today's women are deserving of any of that?

Can you marry or agree that your fellow men can marry a full time house wife, one who doesn't provide anything apart from making babies??

In a relationship, you as the man have the right to define how it works.

If you aim sex, you get sex.

However, no one offers you sex in a relationship. That is one thing you guys fail to understand smiley

Sex is consensual. No one offers it to you.

However, a higher percentage of Nigerian men can't boast of introducing anything meaningful into their partner's life.
It's not rocket science, you can't get what you don't offer.
You want men other than your father and brothers to introduce meaningful things into your because you are what na? An orphan or handicap? It is the sole responsibility of your parents to give you meaningful things into your life, that with education and care prepares you to become value in a man's eye, after you have attained maturity. You don't expect another man's son to do that which your parents failed to give you. You don't do a man a favour by fucking him, or any other stuffs dating stuffs.

In a nut shell, you're saying the other man can't offer me anything in that aspect??

Yes, if we would be very frank with ourselves...the other man has no obligation to offer you more than sex. The only responsibility he has is a joint one with the wife or gf towards the children resulting from their adult enjoyment.

I'm married to one already. Though my wife is not a full time housewife, her business is secondary to her house work as per our agreement; she works fully out of her own choice and her money is totally hers. I have never asked for or accepted that she spend out of it on home expenses which I pay for in full; school fees, groceries, clothing, repairs, utility bills, travel expenses (except when she decides to take the kids on a trip); and the home we live in is mine. To be honest, I have only a vague idea of how much she makes, and that's only because she presently asked me to help her to oversee building a home for her, and sometimes asks my advice about investment.

I wouldn't preach it if I didn't practise it.

I know.

And that is why many face problems in marriage. That is why men have lost majority control of the home to their wives. But you asked for what a man is ideally expected to provide into a marriage, not what the majority of men in Western oriented countries now practise.

Men have only SEX and BIOLOGICAL CHILDREN to gain from a woman but women have EVERYTHING to gain from a man physically, emotionally, psychologically, and socially. Women CAN'T do without men no matter the level she gets to in life, don't deceive yourself.

You know what? i think am gonna have to make an original post on this!

Let's take Linda Ikeji as a case study.

With the kind of wealth she has at her disposal, what exactly do you think she needs a man for?
