That's why one very important performance criterion of Government is job creation.....I mean real jobs created to feel vacancies created by an expanding economy, not......N-Power.

People need jobs, but our governments keep failing, making those who had jobs to even lose what they had.

Even government understand this. They just don't want to do it. Create employment and kill crime

Is this why crime has become worse since 2015- due to increasing unemployment, greater poverty and higher inflation

I can boldly answer YES

If you really have a job that takes care of your basic needs, house rent, transportation and feeding, clothing and occasional chop life outside, you don’t know what God has done for you ooo

What you have to do is look for a skill to learn that will augment you income, it might not be immediately but wishing a period of 6-12 months

Thank you. Kindly suggest a view please.

Don't go picking your colleagues' pocket sha.

Not at all. Forget it, lack and hunger make people do what they are not supposed to. You won't understand if you haven't been there.

I am passing through unemployment and hunger. It's a very hard stage. When you feel depressed or ask for assistance, some people will be quick to label you a scammer.
Maybe they don't know the meaning of a scammer.
Someone who has and able to eat will not beg on NL now.
May almighty God bless all with our heart desires

Honestly sir, the feeling of unemployment is very depressive. I can still remember all that I went through.

I pray God gives you a job too

There's no two ways that unemployment is responsible for most of the crimes committed by young ones. I was there and I know it.

I used to do pilfering/petty theft to help myself. Even on this forum, I used to beg or try to swindle people to get any little financial favour just to survive because I didn't have a job.

Could you believe since I got a job (to God be the glory), none of such thought ever crossed my mind again?

With this, I wante to say every bad person out there deserve another chance with a job.

I have changed.

Family / Comparison Between Taxi Drivers and Civil Servants by PowerOfLove: 7:39pm On May 25, 2023
This has bothered me such that my friends and I had to go into argument today.

A civil servant may earn N150k or less in Nigeria but he or she lives in a 1 or two bedroom apartment with family, well furnished, eat 2-3 times a day of average or standard food, dress well and smell nice. He may even have a car of his/her own. Total annual salary is less than N2m.

But a taxi or Keke driver makes at the lowest N15k everyday but they hardly have what to show for. A mini bus driver once told me he made N30k the previous day and I was shocked. Due to hike in prices of fuel, the shortest distance now is N100 and that is huge when summed with the number of passengers at the end of the day. So on average, they make N15k/day, and for 30 days is N450k. Remove whatever may take money from them including maintenance, they should save up at least N150k/month.

But you hardly see any of them living in a standard apartment. They stay in one room apartment where pots and stove are kept inside that same one room. They born 4 or more children 4 and still stay inside that one room. They don't dress well and don't look like those feeding well. They do contribution here and there, still nothing to show.

Where do these people keep their money? What is collecting money from Taxi and Keke drivers, even when they obviously earn more than civil servants but standard of living cannot be compared?

I'm a concerned Nigerian.

Why would you consider option 3,don't be foolish.

That's why I am having a second thought about that very option. I know it would compound and lead to a bigger issue.

Really? I have had to supervise a building project where contractors will start off with between 50% to 70% payment, then collect the balancing sum before finishing, leaving peanuts till the last day. Never seen one who waited to collect chunk of the money at the finish line. If you even hire excavators, those one will collect 100% of their money before leaving their own premises to your site. He collected peanut to begin, whereas the person who took the job collected all his money from source. Actually, to scale through life in naija, you need to be street smart. You cant afford to be slow biko.

Who could have believed scam could be brought in in such a construction site? I don't want to believe I wasn't smart enough.

Even the security in the place says he does not know the owner of the proerty. The security firm he works with only pay into his account without him knowing he pays to the company.
