Dating And Meet-up Zone › Seeking A Serious Lady (23 Years And Above) For Relationship by poyebad(op): 9:02pm On May 05, 2018 |
If you are a decent lady not less than 23 years, and you want to give internet dating a chance, kindly get in contact with me. I am not particular about whether or not you have stable income or you're a student. I am immensely comfortable financially and I can take good care of you. One thing I am going to require however is this: I'm an entrepreneur and my job often involves travelling, attending and hosting corporate meetings, and it is not negotiable that my preferred lady must have basic communicate skills and must be well presentable to such corporate gathering.
Cheers. PS: For distance sake I will prefer ladies in Osun, Oyo, Ondo, or Ekiti state. |

Pharmacists and even some selected nurses now prescribe. I asked around and that's what I got. That the health systems of many countries are progressively moving towards allowing the true expert on drugs to write prescription. For two reasons, 1) this frees doctors to attend to more serious cases, and 2) reduces the rate of errors medical doctors make in prescription writing.
I think this makes sense.
I personally have always trusted the judgement of pharmacists when it comes to medications. I am always very impressed with how approachable they are, and they take time to listen and explain to you. You could ask them anything relating to drugs and they are always so forthcoming and polite. I have seen a few doctors who actually got offended when questions were asked concerning the prescribed drugs. I was like, "Shooo!!! I should have right to know the drugs my pops was being given now". The guy just offhandedly told me I should let him do his job. Before I could protest he had called the next person. |

If Nigerian youths were not lazy what were they doing that it's only the old men and women who lead and represent them.
Nigerian youths like to do three things: 1) go to churches and mosques to pray in hope of a better country 2) go to school to cram for a certificate in hope of a good livelihood 3) go to nairaland (etc) to blame others, to complain and turn everything into comedy.
Nigerian youths are not only lazy, they are on the verge of also becoming a lost generation. Stop blaming Buhari, he was right.

Someone should wake me up when Oyedepo starts cursing. He likes to do that. Let's see if he can command Daddy Freeze to fall and die, or at least to reset his brain with a hot slap like he once slapped a young girl whose brain got reset and she started thinking she was a witch. |

freeze001: Hmmm..this would be interesting if they are really sincere. Whilst these political recyclables are least desirable, they are unfortunately d ones that are in a position to kickstart any viable move.
I only hope they plan to get real, do away with dirty politicking and set the right course for getting this geographical expression off its back at least. Nigerians should suspend this non-interference judgemental pose. You can go ahead and call them political recyclables all you want; they remain a million years better than most of you that all you do is sit behind your keyboards and criticize and complain. This is the time for young Nigerians to join a new movement; it is not the time to judge a new movement by a bad past. Neither is it the time to make predictions of failure. Any movement and every political party in Nigeria will fail and resoundingly so because most young Nigerians full of strength and ideas would rather spill rubbish on social media than get involved in the country's political process. The minimum Nigeria requires from us is not our PVC. It is not even casting our votes. It is getting involved actively in the political process regardless of whether or not the game is conceived as being dirty. Game dirty? Play it all the same until you have the platform to clean it up. The fact that we are still limited to political options in individuals like Buhari and Atiku who in saner climes should have been in geriatric homes with adult pampers strapped around them is a clear indication that the youths of this country have failed. Don't get it twisted, the failure is ours and it's not theirs. Anyone with information on how to join the CN should kindly share it here. Let smart, young Nigerians get involved. |
Politics › Nigerian Politicians Don't Go On Strike For Salary-related Reasons? by poyebad(op): 9:17am On Jan 31, 2018 |
Is this because they are such patriotic Nigerians that they stick around to ensure their duties don't go unattended to?
Is it because the government never ever mess with their salaries like it happens every day with the civil servants? And so politicians have no reason in the first place to embark on industrial action?
Is it because their salaries are so fat that it is practically impossible to be unsatisfied with their conditions of service?
In the end, what sort of fabric are Nigerian civil servants made of that they gladly condone their terrible working conditions? Governors whose salaries have never delayed by a second refusing to pay workers' salaries for several months, and nothing coming of it. These governors complain of dwindling subventions, yet their own very salaries do not dwindle. Personally, I think Nigerian civil servants are way too tolerant of ill-treatment and they probably to be treated the way they are being treated. |

Politics › IPOB, Fulani Herdsmen And Buhari's Complicit Silence Not Enough To Split Nigeri by poyebad(op): 1:49am On Jan 06, 2018 |
It is simply not going to happen. Nigeria will not divide. Even if the terrorist organization called Fulani Herdsmen were to continue for a century. Even if IPOB were to continue their chants for a million years. The fact is, all section of the Nigerian amalgam is benefiting tremendously from the one-Nigeria project.
For instance, how many IPOBs are willing to relinquish their business holdings in the other parts of the country just to go home and start from the scratch? Perhaps no on. An Igbo man that has build business empire worth several millions of Naira in Lagos is not going to abandon that in a misguided pursuit of a Biafran Eldorado. He is simply not going to forfeit the outcome of his sweat to start from the scratch what is uncertain. After all, if all Igbo businessmen return and relocate to the east, who exactly is going to buy their wares? Nigeria is their market, and they dare not lose that.
The same for the terrorists from up North called Fulani Herdsmen. They will continue killing while President Buhari inserts his head in the sand pretending nothing is happening. The victim communities too will keep crying, calling on the pretending President and calling on God to come and rescue them. But the situation will continue and the country will not disintegrate for it. Why? Because as Nigerians we have over the years developed a dangerous tolerance and acceptance for evil. We sit back and hope that one day God's judgement will fall through from the sky to punish the villains. The probability of that happening however is almost non-existent. So, the cycle of blood and of blaming and of dying and of mooing will continue, but Nigeria will continue standing in spite of it.
We are just too lazy, too uncaring to breakup.
But with time a few local communities will happen up the wisdom someday that the lives of the communities are in their hands to protect. And when are finally ready to attend to their own problems, then the terrorist will prefer not to invade their communities any longer.
After all, each Nigerian is his own government. He digs his own well. He builds his own house. He provides his own job. He supplies his own power. He provides his own security. And the concept of governmental governance is no more than a tale told but not believed.
We will stick together as one Nigeria. No matter what. |

Private universities cook things up and they bribe like mad. From a very reliable source (and I go see for myself) ABUAD wey no get anything...sisi, nada for their preclinical laboratories, they collect FULL MDCAN and NUC accreditation! Why? Money don change hands. Whereas, go to EKSU preclinical laboratories, you would think you were in US with the state-of-the-art equipment...and still for years dem no smell accreditation...Why? Because public universities don't bribe their way out like Private Universities who have a point to prove. Go to ABUAD and CU, you will find individuals who received their PhD in the last three (3) years who have been made professors now, just because such dubious promotions to the professorial rank and their undeserved accreditation status ranks them high... The Provost of College of Law for ABUAD, she never finish the PhD she started years ago...guess what? She is a professor. Covenant University recently dubiously promoted three lecturers into professorial cadre...Loto, Ada, and Evans. Ada got a PhD in 2013 and was until recent promotion lecturer 1 while CU lists her as Assistant Professor. Loto got a PhD in 2014 after joining CU in 2013 as lecturer 1. Between 2012 and 2017 when he was reported to author 77 publications most of which were sole authorship (quite discouraged in most academic settings) or with his dad. Evans on his own was Senior Lecturer until being so hurriedly promoted. The world over there is no other place where these dubious mediocrity is being promoted as accepted scholarly phenomena except in Nigerian private universities. In the West you do not even stand a chance, in most cases, of landing a lecturing job if all you have is a PhD degree... You have to have bagged years of postdoctoral experience in different research groups (preferably) before you get an academic contract... In Nigerian private institutions however, individuals who cannot even stand up and beat their chests that their PhD work was up to 30% their own are being made professors in just two years. The Provost of College of Medicine of ABUAD got his PhD in 2012 and by 2014, and with publication record insufficient to be considered for lecturer 1 in public universities, was made a Professor! That is simply outrageous. No wonder they continue producing academic midgets while the private universities go about looking for any form of recognition including spurious ranking, just to stay in business. Even wealthy kids that are academically sound and sure of themselves prefer to attend universities like UI, OAU etc just to prove their worth. We should stop celebrating mediocrity in Nigeria. You cannot have the kind of half-baked-fast-promotion professors in private universities and expect the students to be any better than the impostors that sire them. This post is not meant to be insulting, it's meant to be in defence of true scholarship. Not the type you think you have to pay millions of naira to get, only to come out with a piece of paper and overbloated sense of your own worth. A worth that doesn't even exist. |
Education › Re: Five Reasons Why You Shouldn't Attend A Public University by poyebad: 1:27am On Jan 01, 2018 |
Mirand606: A Counter Thread!
Incredibly Poor Quality of Education Public Universities in Nigeria undeniably have the poorest quality of education. From too large classes with poor teaching aids to very poorly equipped laboratories to non existent academic support-Public Universities in Nigeria are the exact definition of HOW NOT TO RUN A UNIVERSITY. In comparison private universities have smaller classes-which gives lecturers the ability to teach, impact and follow up Knowledge transfer. Also According to former NUC President, Peter Okebukola Covenant University has the highest per capita investment having spent 70 billion on 13,000 graduates as at 2013. According to NUC, about 40% of Equipment in ABUAD Mechatronics Dept are not present in any other public University. Also the President of Biotechnology Society of Nigeria also commented that Covenant university has the best Biology(Molecular Bio lab) in all of Nigeria.
Public Universities aid Criminality Who doesn't know that Lautech is the Den of Internet Fraudsters? Public Universities generally aid all sorts of vices that are never found in Private Universities e.g Cultism, Cyber fraud, Sexual Assault etc. In contrast Private Universities are the true certifiers of "Character and Learning" - Students are monitored closely and there are huge consequences to erring which serves as deterrence to possible future offenders. Also 99% of the Corrupt politicians in public service today graduated from public universities and started their criminality way from School. Have you heard of claims of OAU SUG looting association funds? Have you ever heard Covenant, Landmark and Abuad SUG loot anything even though they equally handle millions?
Poor Academic Support Students of Public Schools are discouraged from succeeding in life - they are taught not to aspire for the best and if they do they are cut down. Many public universities take glory in depriving students of their deserved grades even though foreign universities like imperial college graduates about 41% of their graduating class as First class in their last convocation ceremony. This invariably affects the pysche of most graduates of public universities that they develop a sort of Stockholm syndrome where they actually appreciate the abuse and allow it foster where they eventually get to work. They end up believing that Stress is equal to Quality.Today most private universities have about 10% first class rate which is very encouraging.
Erratic and Poor Campus Conditions From poor power supply, to poor residential arrangement to careless citing of Academic infrastructure. Public Universities are once again the way not to run a Universities. Many public universities house people on campuses like feral rats. Much of their residences are not fit for criminals in saner climes. Their libraries are usually deficit of good books and the ones available are usually torn.
Unstable Academic Calander The only thing as unstable as public universities calendar is Nigeria's electricity supply. Public universities are erratic and complicated. If it is not ASUU it is NASU or NAAT or whatever. This is the complete opposite in private universities where staff development is prioritised and the lecturers can teach at their best rather than concentrating on teaching and imparting and not when next to have a show down with govt.
You're seriously masturba.ting yourself to sleep, and your dying brain cells are having a hard time reviving. You must be high on cheap Ilesha weed. Gerrara hia. Private university ko, glorified primary schools where lecturers wipe students' buttocks after they poo...like in CU, ABUAD... Is that one a school, where you build slaves? Most private university students are unable to be useful to their own selves. Imagine a school where students can not cook, cannot choose not to attend religious meetings, cannot hold their heads up and boldly declare their opinions in public...'cos if they do, Bishop would literally slap the hell out of them, or Bowen would make them all kneel down for a decade... Is that one a school where over 90 % of their students population are drug addicts..? If you doubt that, ask any student or lecturer who has been at ABUAD for a while. A school where students are on permanent lockdown...where students are not allowed to make their own mistakes and learn from them... Private university education in Nigeria is poo. Including Covenant University. Yes, you heard me. Universities are places where you not just get a certificate and get a chance to compete in life, it is also a place where you pick up essential social and relational and personal attributes. Go to OAU, UI, UNILAG, UNN...etc |

Business › How Much To Pay Pharmacist Director? by poyebad(op): 5:58pm On Jul 25, 2017 |
Hello ever conscious Nairalanders,
I need your assistance, information basically. I want to open a retail pharmacy outlet. The building is already well set up and all I need right now is to get a pharmacist director in order to incorporate the company with the Corporate Affairs Commission. I was made to understand that the pharmacist director is different from the superintendent pharmacist who sees to the day to day operation of the premise. My question now is:
1) how much should I be ready to offer the pharmacist director? 2) is any pharmacist on nairaland willing to be the pharmacist director that I need?
Thank you Nairalanders.

Education › Re: Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Or Physiotherapy? by poyebad(op): 3:12pm On Jul 06, 2017 |
olusegxz: It's on the 4th page now but will still put in my two kobo as a doctor trained in Nigeria and now working as a Aesthetic surgeon in Australia. Firstly what qualifies a good health degree. In the health field like the military there is a strict hierarchy. This is to ensure orderliness in the business of saving lives. Top is the medical doctor/dentist, followed by pharmacist, pharmacologists, physiotherapists etc. Then nurses.
So in terms of which is best in the health field obviously a medical doctor or dentist. A pharmacist technically cannot function without a doctor as doctors tell them what to dispense for the patients. Pretty boring career. Nurses, well, dirtiest of the list and least paid also but vital to the health field probably the most vital you will be surprised what a primary health nurse can do in the absence of a doctor.
So which is best economically. Well the health field in Nigeria is not lucrative. None of them are. If he is after money he should find greener pastures now before it's too late. But then in Nigeria of today which occupation really pays well. I think we are all in the same economic downturn boat. But should he insist on the health industry he should be humble and ready to serve with brain, time and compassion.
Doctors generally earn about N150k to about N270k, and that salary scale drops rapidly for the rest of the list.
Pharmacists usually don't feel compelled to work in hospitals so they have a wider job reach without the usual question 'But you are a doctor why are you working in a bank'. So that gives pharmacists an edge. However no matter where they work I won't expect them to earn more than the 130 to 200k margin on average.
Medical lab guys don't earn a lot at all. Some big diagnostic centers like Mecure pay their lab scientists about 100k. If you get this offer as a Med lab scientist you are doing ok.
Nursing is bottom but you can work in private hospitals and earn about 70k. And you can do private home care for some rich folks. So if you are smart you can actually be smiling home more than the doctor. If you are a pretty nurse then the gods are smiling at you. Those private jobs will come in flocks.
Radiography is also good salary scale between 70k to about 120k. Lots of jobs in diagnostic centers.
Abroad
Nursing is best if you can travel, followed by medicine, then dentistry and etc. Pharmacists don't earn a whole lot abroad.
Conclusion
If your brother is smart enough to pass fellowship exams and foreign board exams he should do medicine or dentistry and secure a future abroad he can return to nigeria as a visiting surgeon or consultant and demand 3million per elective surgery depends on procedure. While working abroad he can earn between $6k to $15k a month. This goes up as you advance your career. Thanks olusegxz. I received a mail from a pharmacist this morning sharing his personal experience. Based on what he wrote (quoted below) I believe you have a wrong information about pharmacists, and I even think may be earning so much more than doctors. " Hello poyebad. I came across a post initiated by you on Nairaland and I decided to share my personal experience to encourage your brother. This experience is not just mine, similar pattern is experienced by pharmacists all around the country. Pharmacists who are ready to work and not the ones who are comfortable with the meagre salaries being offered them both in the public and private sectors. Even if you're receiving #300k monthly as a pharmacist, it still qualifies as a pharmacist. The pharmacist is trained to function as a healthcare provider and at the same time as a businessman. I make bold to tell you that you cannot find a pharmacist who satisfies both aspects of his training that is not outstandingly wealthy. I worked briefly in a hospital and after just six months I decided to work as a pharmaceutical rep where my monthly target was in excess of #30,000,000 monthly. That's what set me thinking: why help another to make #30,000,000 monthly when I have all it takes (except the capital at the time) to make the same for myself. I built a little capital from working for the company from salaries and commissions. After three years working for the company and about seven years ago, I set up my own community pharmacy. Right now I have an allied production industry that produces about 23 products. My average cumulative daily sales (from the community pharmacy and from the production company) is approximately #57,000,000 (calculated for the first half of the year 2017). While I am not going to give you an idea of how much of that I pay myself as income, I believe this information should help you convince your friend.
Let me conclude this way: very few professions have the capacity to make you super rich in Nigeria. One of them is agriculture, the other one is pharmacy. Make no mistake about it, medicine can not provide you this kind of financial edge, except few exceptionally business savvy doctors who have learnt to step outside the comfort of their meagre comfortable salaries and into the world of medical business. In the end it makes not much difference what your friend decides to study. The more important factor is the kind and quality of person he is. If he is the salary type, then medicine is good for him. But if he is the type interested in building financial empire, then pharmacy is what he should go for." |

meemahlae: Medicine first - Attractive income, Prestige, Carrier fulfillment at treating others, Highest paid. D fact DAT ur 2 bro had job issues doesn't mean he will. Job is easy at north
Nursing- Easily employed, Carrier fulfillment, Personal Private practice. Cons.. Errand staff for doctors Dirty but fulfilled work lowest paid out of d 5 courses u mentioned Don't really like it for guys. Pharmacy - Easy employment, same salary scale with MLS and Physiotherapy last time I checked at my state. prestige, Most easy work as they just sit down and dispense drugs already stated by doctors. They stand up in few cases wen dey need to pick up some drugs. Carrier fulfillment, Private practice, Many Sectors to work apart from hospital.. Not easily talked down by doctors unlike nurses.
Medical lab science MLS - They are the backbone of medical field. Huge Carrier fulfilment as they diagnose and detect all anomalies and infections going on in our body by using our bodily fluids e.gblood. Private practice, Easy employment.. Highly paid, 100k isn't too small for a start, Most pay more depending on the medical centre
Physiotherapy- Prestige, easily employed..
Dentistry- - Highly paid cos its same salary scale with doctors, Low request for job employment- How many are removing teeth?. Low patronage in private practice.
Radiography- hmnn... High exposure to radiation which can shorten once life.. Good salary.. Normal request for employment with my own view cos most people don't study the course. Private practice not pronounced except at diagnostic centres..
Vetinary med- - same year in school as medicine, why not study medicine instead... Sells well abroad as they have more pets... Low request for employment. Private practice.. Related to medical in course of study at school but agric related e.g animal health to the outside world
....,........Not everyone will work in a hospital, adding MSC and PH d will be added advantage as u can divert into academics and become a lecturer. The best and most instructive response so far. Thanks a lot. Btw, the more response I read here the more I'm personally liking pharmacy. He is already actively considering pharmacy; I think I have some info to encourage him to go for pharmacy. The possibility of private practice seems very attractive, especially for the Nigeria of today. |

doyinbaby: Choose pharmacy......note I am a doctor......Medicine very stressful,laborious...... Hi doc. Do you mind explaining why you being a doctor would advise him to study pharmacy? I have the mindset that working at the hospital is stressful and laborious across board and not just for medical doctors. I don't know if this is correct. |

HaneefahRN: That's true. They utilize those specimens in detecting and diagnosing diseases. I guess you came off as belittling what they do or making it look too simplistic.
I'm a nurse by the way. Nice to meet you Nurse HaneefahRN, and thanks for your comment. |

HaneefahRN: Medical laboratory scientists don't carry poo and urine. That's was an insult to them. You can easily google up their job prescription.
I advice he goes for any of the courses he is passionate about. If he wants medicine he should go for it, that some people have problem getting jobs (hard to believe, they are probably underemployed) doesn't mean he would have same fate. Sorry about the insult. It was never intended to be insulting. But in all sincerity I have seen them ask for faeces, urine, and the likes. Perhaps I should have used the word "faeces" and not poo. I felt 'poo' would be more acceptable to the ears than "faeces" or "excrement". Will try to change it though. |
