Croatia was a part of the old Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia were no push overs back in the day. In 98 they had Suker and it took a Thuram inspiration for France to beat them. Also there is a notion that Eastern Europeans are highly intelligent and good at strategic thinking, we always expect them to be good chess players right? Anyway give it to them, they have a solid team, solid coach, major ingredient missing is just that their attack is not as sharp as the days of Suker or when they had a younger Mandzukic.
