The Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa today (Thursday 19th of February), where he briefed him on the FIFA World Cup verdict involving Nigeria 🇳🇬 and DR Congo 🇨🇩.

He disclosed that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had submitted a formal complaint to FIFA over alleged breaches of rules and regulations in the World Cup qualification process.

“The relevant bodies in FIFA are dealing with it. We are confident we have a good case, but we have already put the World Cup behind us. Whatever happens, it is what it is,” he said.

Dikko clarified that independent committees within FIFA would determine the outcome based on established regulations. He added that the matter is being handled by FIFA’s independent disciplinary and ethics committees, not the FIFA Executive Committee itself.

He explained that Nigeria and the NFF had documented several breaches of FIFA rules and regulations even before the playoff matches and formally submitted the complaints to the world football governing body.

“We discovered some breaches here and there. Even before we played the playoffs, we had noticed them, documented them, and submitted them to FIFA. So, both the NFF and ourselves submitted what we believed were breaches of the rules and regulations, which are part of the sport. It’s not about being sore losers; it’s simply what it is,” the NSC boss said.

This is confusing. It says he delivered the Verdict to Tinubu but FIFA is still deliberating??

DR Congo Football federation is restless concerning the impending FIFA verdict which will be coming up this February which may see the super eagles � of Nigeria � take the spot of DR Congo in the World Cup playoffs in march if they are found guilty of fielding ineligible players against the super eagles � of Nigeria � when they played last November.

D.R Congo football federation have sent a team of lawyers to help tell FIFA they don’t have the rights to interfere in D.R Congo nationality laws that’s its a political law not a sporting law ..

D.R Congo insists FIFA should concentrate more on the fact that these players have Congolese blood and have Congolese heritage.

D.R Congo lawyers insists all these players have met the requirements for the switch of allegiance from their country of origin to their country of birth and FIFA appved their nationality before they took part in DR Congo matches.

To conclude that this is consistency is too simplistic an analysis. Our journey between then and now is filled with numerous highs and lows. At one one pint we did not qualify for two straight AFCONs and now we haven't qualified for our 2nd world cup in a row.

Our journey is very complicated. I would even argue that we have declined at this point in time compared to that era.

The NFF may have a case here. If DR Congo told FIFA that those 9 players fulfilled domestic nationality/passport laws when they in fact did not, then that istself constitutes fraudulent communication/misrepresentation. In other words, DR Congo lied to FIFA.

I have already accepted that SE won't got to the WC but there could be a chance here.

Yes on Congo Dr national law regarding nationality we have a strong case but sporting law we have no way.Congo constitution gave us the advantages cuz it supercedes the sporting law.

Congo Dr doesn't recognize dual citizenship but used players with dual citizenships...now left for us to pursue it logically without given any loopholes....good we have a Nigerian,a reputable SAN who is my big brother as member of FIFA Ethics committee

This is no excuse for their behavior but it describes the root of the issue. Morocco has shouldered so much responsibility in CAF for several years that they feel it gives them license to act however they want.

The moral of the story is no country should have disproportionate influence or control over African football.

It's just sad Morocco have become this arrogant bunch of "I must win because I host" pathetics in international football. Back when I began fanning moroccan football, it was because they had the players and talents that drew me close and I always loved their colors. The Hadjis, the Naybets, the Chamakhs. In 2004, when they beat us through Youssouf Hadji's goal, they beat us clean and I recall 3 of our Super Eagles had to be sent home after that first game loss due to acts of indiscipline. Yakubu and 2 others.

At 2022, ofcos they played haram ball but I supported them due to years of always following their football but as from last week wednesday, I renounced my support for Morocco.
I cannot keep supporting a football nation who seeks to win via underhand and dark boardroom tactics.

The most annoying part in all these is Morocco has a strong NT. They have good players even World Class like Hakimi. But when you are that good and still don't believe that you can prove you are the best on the pitch fairly, then your NT lacks spine and honor. They lack class.

So again, in this light, I officially renounce my fandom for Moroccan football. Cant be associated with the football terrorists of Africa.

It is truly disappointing good sir. I sincerely admired Regragui and his coaching. It is unfortunate that we cannot divorce sport from the ills of mankind. Football should be an escape, free from all of the ills of this world.

This is why I was disappointed when some of you hailed Morrocco in the least world cup.

Heck, when they made semis, they didn't even dub themselves as the first 'African' team. Their players thanked the Arab world and only thanked Africa when social media forced them too.

When will some of you wake up?
