Lol. Let me follow your suggestion like I followed plaetton's.

Do you discard every type of a particular drug in the market when you notice that the one you bought is fake? As in, would you push for the destruction of Paracetamol in the market because a particular brand of Paracetamol you bought doesn't work for you?
I initially didn't want to reply your post, but I later felt like.

Well then.

The particular brand of Paracetamol is God. So what other brand(s) do we have?
Christianity Etc › Re: 13flaws Of Atheism by Pr0ton: 9:06pm On Nov 07, 2014
Just number 1.

Whoever wrote that number is low of understand and critical thinking. Worst is, he becomes a fool when he makes his foolly public, and you, francistony, are not different from this madman.

Whenever again you meet the madman ask him whether he made a mistake by saying 13flaws of "atheism". Ask him if he really understood the word in quote before concluding on posting scraps.

Another is, ask him what rational atheist couldn't disprove the existence of God when he requested for it. If you think disproving the existence of God isn't possible then I suggest you have your brain and common sense examined.

So you ask me to disprove it. It's simple. First, what brought the knowledge of God? The holy books. Cool. Easy. Once you can debunked these books (which already have), then you debunk and disprove the existence of God.

If remaining a deist is your alternative, that's just irrational. Where do you get your idea of God from? Just a wishful thinking. An atheist remains neutral and lives his life

It is the sacred duty of the human spirit to investigate why it is living on earth, or in general in Creation.

Again it's solely indolence that makes us willing to accept the firmly-established doctrines of others. And it is indolence that lies in the reassurance that comes from thinking that it's great to adhere to the faith of our parents, without submitting its underlying principles to keen, careful and independent examination.

The whole of Creation is the Language of God, which we should earnestly strive to read.

Just imagine a child on earth who cannot understand his father or mother because he has never learned the language they speak to him. Indeed what's to become of such a child?

The prophets, messengers and even the Son of God came to draw attention and to teach us this Language.

Christ did not pen down His Teachings...
And what'll become of those who will never learn or understand this language, burn in hell forever?

Lol. Please help me answer. Can you say a law is dead because a person failed to obey it?
Lol. Your illustration doesn't fit in the argument. It only favors your view. The drug illustration is useful as it gives a clear analogy of the use of God.

You discard a drug when you notice it doesn't work for what you deem it ought to work for. You see it as incompatible with your illness. Same thing goes with God. When you use Him and doesn't work, He's not compatible with the problem, and He needs to be discarded. But when you persist in the use of the same drug, your only doing more harm to yourself.

yo! Most of your questions are foolish. And you would not have any regard for the truth of the answers I'd give.

But lemme just say one thing:

You were made for Gods pressure, not the other way round. He doesn't need you to keep on living, he is not a notion. He only needs you to believe in his salvation and be saved from the judgement of your sins.

God extends salvation and righteousness and holiness and blamelessness as a free gift in Jesus Christ. Its right believing, and not right doing that gets us saved. To whom it may concern.
I believe you were hitting your head on poles while typing this. You were engrossed with the activity that you weren't aware of the stupidity you incorporated into your post.

You say...

You were made for Gods pressure, not the other way round.
It baffles me the way Christians define their god without cautioning any implication accompanying their definition. How would a sane person tell me God created me for His plessure and yet tell me that He would blame me for every mistake I make?

A way I can paraphrase your sentence is to cite a Bible verse that has co nnection with it.

Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for beauty and another for menial use?
And you will still blame my mistakes? My misbehaving is not of my own will. It's of Him that created me for His pleasure. Every action I make has been programmed into my brain which I exhibit. My going to hell is what the Potter finds pleasure in. I shouldn't question Him because that's the way He wants me to live: sin and go to hell.

You'd argue that He gave me a freewill to choose between life and death. But that doesn't make sense. If I have a freewill then He didn't create me for His pleasure, as I'll be living the life I want and not the one He wants, which is no pleasure at all unless you want to say my going doing wrong and going to hell is His pleasure too... I have no business with you.
Christianity Etc › Re: Ten Questions To Theists by Pr0ton(op):
JMAN05:
I hope you mean "faith in God's existence"?

You personally have faith that a bang happened in the past. If you loose that faith, does that change the fact?

Faith is not a raw material for truth: truth is truth, whether people believe it or not. That God exists is a truth that even existed before humans were created.

In other words, those humans you think are essential for God's existence through there faith has not always been there, but God has always existed. cleared?
God becomes inexistent when everyone loses his faith in God, or better to understand; He becomes extinct.

When we lose our faith in Him we FORGET anything about Him utterly. No one will ever talk about Him. We return to the life we used to live when we had no knowledge of God.

You claiming God still exists after saying you lose your faith in Him only proves that you never lose your faith in Him.

That's not the meaning.

First the gate of hell cannot prevail against true xtains, in that hell cannot hold them forever.

second: No weapon formed against true xtains can prevail, ie, cannot be able to stamp them out of existence.
Then I can deduce from your words that those Christians killed and persecuted in the North are not true Christians, but until you provide evidence for this your allegation does not make sense and your claim fall on its face.

Remember sometime during Jesus's "lifetime", His disciples reported some folks who were working wonders through Jesus's name to Jesus. Those folks weren't Jesus's disciples.

Those who believe in hellfire and total omniscience of God should answer that.

God's omniscience is inherent, not total.
Are you saying you don't believe in eternal torment in hellhuh Answer me and I will cite a verse for you to see how you deal with.

There is nothing like inherent/incomplete Omniscience. Ideas like this only result as a result of not understanding the word. Omniscience simply means knowing EVERYTHING. When you say someone doesn't know everything totally you give the idea that there are something he doesn't know, hence not omniscient.

God is either Omniscient or not. If you oppose the later, it shows that your not a good reader of the Bible because the Bible clearly signifies this.

The word translated repent/regret can be translated "change of inclination". At times, it is just referring to the grieve of God towards the bad habit of people.
Since God knows what will happen in the future. He knew what man would be before creating him. What sense does it make to grieve our what you knew would happen?

Because freewill exists, and some people choose to be bad.
That would work for the belief of a natural world. But for the claim of the existence of a Supreme Good Being, your argument falls on its face.

Jehovah is a God of mercy. He is ready to forgive and restore His sinful people, but He wont accept sacrifices when those who offer it are steeped in idolatry and other vices.

It appears the Jews were intent on offering sacrifices to gain mercy from God, as if His favor could be gotten from such while they engaged in bad habits.
One would notice that you haven't answered my question.

Logical question.
You have no objection?

He is not omnipresent. For anyone that believes in it is indirectly saying he is in hell too.
Jeremiah 23:24

"Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?" declares the LORD "Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?" declares the LORD.

Inherent omniscience.

His existence made me and you exist. he also shows us how to live our lives.
Isaiah 46:9

I am God, and there is none like me,
declaring the end from the beginning
and from ancient times things not yet done.

Q1. Don't you think that your faith is God's hope of existence, and
when everyone loses his faith God dies and becomes inexistent?

God dos not need humans to exist,God cannot die, bible make us to understand that before humans begin to exist, God is liveth.so this question dos not make sense.
It really does.

Long back then, there was no concept of God. People lived a normal life without the knowledge of a Supreme Being. Later, a need of a God arose. Man started to create God, wrote books about Him. They needed a god who would be their shoulder to cry on. They needed an invisible god to scare those evil doers. Gradually, the NT writers even invented a more horrific God who would burn you in hell for eternity if you don't accept Him. He was taken by faith... and when all of us loses our faith, God will be nowhere to be found. We will all forget Him and then go back to thelife we once used to live: a life with no knowledge of God. That's how god(s) die(s)

So Jesus can't ascend because He is not human?

LordReed:
Oh I see your confusion. I never averred that Jesus ascended first. I explained to you that the context in which Jesus said No man has ascended needs to be read with the act of witnessing heavenly things. No man has ascended and come back. Jesus was already there and is now with Nicodemus to witness of heavenly things. The ascended never referred to Jesus.
Wouldn't it, then, be logical of Jesus to say,

"No one has ever descended from heaven..." without the No one as ascended up to heaven?

If the ascended up isn't referring to Jesus who does it refer to then?
Christianity Etc › Re: Jesus Lied :'( by Pr0ton(op): 5:20pm On Nov 03, 2014
LordReed:
I am only baffled at your need for Jesus to ascend. He was already in heaven and then came down and is a witness but you want Him to ascend first before He can be a witness.
Yh.. According to what your contesting that Jesus was trying to let Nicodemus know that He had been in heaven so He could tell him heavenly things, hence your explanation for John 3:13a...

I then objected that if that was the case then Jesus, according to John 3:13a, actually ascended up to heaven and came back to tell of heavenly things which has no scriptural support.

Now your confused saying why would He have to ascend up to heaven first since He was coming from heaven; questioning what you once averred.

Now it is obvious you really are reading out of context. John 3:13 you have been quoting reads:

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he
that came down from heaven,
even the Son of man which is in heaven.

He was in heaven before He was on earth.
I know He was in heaven. But He never ascended up to heaven before He was on earth.
Christianity Etc › Re: Jesus Lied :'( by Pr0ton(op): 3:30pm On Nov 03, 2014
LordReed:
Taken out of context John 3:13a sounds like a contradiction but juxtaposed with the surrounding text you get a clearer picture. Elijah went to heaven but did he come back to testify or witness? This is what Jesus is saying, I am a reliable witness because I have been there and now I am here, you can believe me.
This would be distortion free if the verse reads:

" And no man has ascended up to heaven and then returned to testify of these things"

Besides, where did Jesus ascend up to heaven and come back to analyse things to Nicodemus?
Christianity Etc › Re: Jesus Lied :'( by Pr0ton(op): 2:40pm On Nov 03, 2014
LordReed:
It makes a whole lot of difference man.

Consider Verse 11 Jesus is talking about testifying and witnessing. You don't testify or witness to what you neither saw nor experienced. This sets up the context for the following verses. Using that to understand what He is saying you will see that He is telling Nicodemus that in other to testify of heavenly things you must have seen or experienced them. Continuing He tells Nicodemus the words which you contest. If Jesus is talking about witnessing then He must be referring to witnesses. Are there any that have gone to heaven and come back? Obviously not but He the Son of man has been in heaven. Picking verse 13 out of context is like picking this "No man has been bitten by snake" when the full sentence is "No man has been bitten by snake, will tell you to experience it". The first part is going to look like a lie obviously without the explanation of the second.
What justification does your explanation give John3:13a

Res to ans.1

Your response doesn't make sense at all..
"God may take the life of a born again christians to save him from the plot of his enemy"

He was killed by his enemy. How then did "God save him from the plot of his enemy"?

Res to ans.2

You see... No matter how you argue over this, you will still be challenged by the same question, "If He is not willing that any should perish why did He create those that will, however, end up in hell"? He knew this from the beginning. Or are you telling me that it's will that some should perish?

Res to ans.3

Your moving out of my question here. My point is we all regret/change our mind because we make mistakes, and that's because we are not perfect. If God is perfect why does He regret what He does, like when He regreted that He created man?

There is still no answer in your post.

Jesus was talking to Nicodemus and trying to show him that what he was saying was the truth because He as from heaven
Of what use is this answer to my objection please?

And your second assertion shows that you and Jesus don't understand yourself. Even, some new translation, like the RSV, omitted the "son of man who is in heaven". If we are to follow those new translation then we can infer that Jesus was just making an analogy in verse 14, and also gives more fault to Jesus's allegation about who has ever ascended up to heaven.

Ans.1

Now you talk of the born agains. Are you trying to say that among those thousands that were killed there is no single born again? Born again or not, they were Christians, Christ's followers (if not genuienly all). "And WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"

And, are you saying there aint "born agains" who are praying for the 'salvation' of this people? If your saying that it's only the born agains' prayers that are accepted then there is no born again in Nigeria and in other part of the world.

Ans.2

I love your explanation bro. But following your explanation critically will only bring us back to the same question: "Why, since He knew all these would happen, didn't He just create the good ones and leave the bad ones if truly 'he is not willing that any should perish'"

Ans.3

My interpretation of repent is regret which is the true meaning of "shuwb" (to return) and metanoeo (change of mind). Question is... Why do we change our mind? Mistakes
Christianity Etc › Re: Jesus Lied :'( by Pr0ton(op): 11:12am On Nov 03, 2014
LordReed:
Jesus was simply illustrating to Nicodemus the veracity of His words. Read the previous verses, He said to Nicodemus I tell you of earthly things and you find them hard what if I tell you of heavenly things? No other person has come back from heaven only Himself who was in Heaven and is here now. He was not implying that nobody has gone to heaven, He was implying that no one had come from there to tell of things there.

When examining scriptures you will be in error if you take a scripture out of context.
Really? Read the verse again and stop changing the words...

"No man has ascended up up to heaven..."

He tells us plainly here that no one has ascended/gone up to heaven. He doesn't stop there. He then tries to tell you who has ever ascended up to heaven, and he says, "but he who came down from heaven". Since He was born by the Holy Sprit, who impregnated Mary, and not by man, He therefore was divine (came down from heaven): Jesus
