I bought my RX330 with a deployed driver's airbag which also incudes knee airbag and had driven the vehicle for close to 3 years with no incident or major repair. The very has been very faithful although with proper preventive maintenance. Servicing of engine oil and tranny fluid have been routinely as at when it's due.

My wife mostly drives this vehicle just to the office & back of less than 5 miles daily. Recently, I became seriously concerned about the airbag though I have always wanted to refit the airbag to functional state. Since its better to air on the side of caution, I made up my mind to fix it. More so, Xmas is around the corner & my family will be travelling to the east in the ride, I decided to contact kingreign about the possibility of replacing the deployed airbag.

A scan revealed 3 major codes of the steel wheel airbag, driver's knee airbag and the driver's seat belt. While diagnosing as I had anticipated, he discovered that the vehicle seller had concealed the airbag light with a black masking tape behind the instrument cluster. This ensures that the airbag light never came up when the ignition is turned on. While buying the car, my immediate major concern was to ensure that the frame and chassis were not impacted during the accident as this will guarantee my tyres are not always out of alignment & unnecessary uneven wear. More so, vin report indicated it was a lone accident meaning there's no multiple airbag deployment. So I went ahead to pay for the vehicle.

So fast forward to last week, my greatest fear was hoping that the dealer who sold the vehicle to me didnt delete the airbag & removed the airbag module. So the moment he discovered the black masking tape, I heaped a sigh of relief. With this relief, we placed an order for the 3 items. Items arrived after 3 days and was installed. After the installation, all the codes evaporated but the srs light remained lit on the instrument cluster.

Further troubleshooting revealed that the airbag module needs to be replaced. Now, this is the deal breaker as the module was hidden under the gear selector, which requires that you must remove a significant part of the dashboard in other to access it including the center console which coincidently is a channel through which aircon circulates to the rear seat. It also requires some level of caution & expertise because the Lexus dash facial is a delicate one and could easily get scratched or damaged. We searched all over Apo & Zuba spare part markets in Abuja with no success. Since I have a reliable brother & friend at Ladipo, I contacted him to make an enquiry. Within few minutes of search in Ladipo, the module was found. The following day, I paid and item was shipped to Abuja.

Thanks to all Nairalanders who has given their noble contributions to this subject,
My question was borne out of curiosity seeing the number of this model in recent time on our roads.

More so, most of the ones i have come across are either not yet registered or just arriving from the port with cute looking
and gorgeously looking interior that could Lured anyone that appreciates beauty.

My take on this is that NO CAR or brand is BAD, it all depends largely on the users; maintenance is the key word here

I found a Citreon c3 2004 model. The seller says everything is in good condition except the gear. He says changing into the gear 2 is a little difficult but that it is fixable. I asked how much and he said 10k. He says he knows a good mechanic who can get it done.
I looked online and found out that citreon c3 is known for gear problems.
So guys, do you think this gear can be fixed successfully?. Or should I just ditch it and keep looking?.
Anyone who knows this car model should please tell me their experience.

Its just pure luck and timing that has kept me alive. I take big risk. The funny thing is that the road is even safer at night. The kidnappers and robbers operate early in the morning to late evening but less in the night since traffic is low. They also operate with spotters. So the journey should be inconsistent alternating high speed, low speed and unplanned stops.

Hello guys please my cuz's volvo is really giving issues it's manual drive. The gear was having issues working, was really hard to get it into any gear especially the reverse gear.... Took it to the mechanic and he has been working on it for a week now and it has not still started working. As of yesterday it gets into gear without stepping on the clutch.... Am staying at onitsha.... Any suggestions or expert mechanics? Thanks

I concur, tire life should be measured in miles not years. I never did measure since at the time of buying new tires, i always feel like am not gonna a tire for 2 or more years which will be hard to keep record. I ended up needing a tire 1 year later in most cases.

I got the car at 100k and have 220k now, so I used it for 120kmiles in 6 years. The 1st year am sure was less than 10k since i was using another car. I have used it less in the past 1yr so can be said to be 10-15k. So the middle 4years am sure to have clocked 25-30kmiles/yr. I worked in Abj with family in Kaduna, I did a return trip every weekend. In Abj, it was 60km/day.

The 406 manual wins in fuel efficiency..

All cars are durable...It all boils down to how you handle them...The manual 406 can take a bit more abuse than the DC tho

I drove EOD for nearly 7 years ,June 2013 to March 2020.
And I can say the car is very good,am a field Person, so the car like works every day,lagos,ijebu,Ibadan,abeokuta, Benin etc,in lagos,I can go from surulere to Ajah,magodo,ikeja,isolo back to surulere like almost every other day.and have gone to east Nnewi like 10x to and fro before I sold it this march,still sound and working.
And it really served me,the legs only pulled once becos I ignored it..but aside that once,it never happened again.
There is alz a sign before it will pull..just that most people just want to manage or ignore it.i never changed the shock,just work on AC 2x,once on Compressor, condenser,Engine sitting and almost every 2-3 months replacement of all oil. Once I had issues with acceleration, but its was airvent blockage..fixed like 1.5k.
With a very good maintenance culture,u will enjoy it.
Upgraded to 2008 sienna's limited,cos of increasing family and work, but will still get 08 accord..I love Honda.
