Popular Instagram comedian, Omo Ibadan has revealed that she gets a lot of marriage proposals online.

n a recent chat with punchng.com, Sunday Scoop, Omo Ibadan revealed that a lot of men contact her online, requesting her hand in marriage.

She said:-

“Even before that post, I have been getting many marriage proposals – both serious and unserious ones. However, I want a man that appreciates me as a woman and would always support what I do. The most important thing is that she should love what I do.

I am not really the choosy type; as long as I like you, that’s fine. I also want someone that has a vision. In terms of physical qualities, I really cannot tell. If I say I want a dark-skinned guy (which is actually my preference) and I fall in love with someone who isn’t that way, what do I do?”

The topic of a woman sacrificing her career for her man, is one that has polarized the entertainment industry, has some female celebrities have said they can do such.

Omo Ibadan in the interview revealed that she cannot sacrifice her career for any man, stating that she won’t even get attracted to someone who doesn’t like what she is doing.

How Buhari kept promise to N-Delta -Dokubo

On May 29, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari, in his inaugural speech, said, “The government intends to invest heavily in the Niger Delta projects and programmes currently in place. I call on the leadership and people in the area to cooperate with the state and federal governments in the rehabilitation programmes which will be streamlined and made more effective”.

Buhari’s promise four years after has been kept. The gains in Niger Delta prove the President right, hence there have been calls from different angles for his re-election. Calls for Buhari’s re-election cut across tribe, party affiliation, religion and elites among others. The reason is that Buhari since assuming office has performed well in all ramifications with the most important achievement being the fight against corruption which has brought economical and financial sanity to the polity. Significant in this regard is the call for the President’s re-election by the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs /Coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Prof. Charles Dokubo. It is important because the Niger Delta sustains the nation’s economy and there is need to maintain the development of the region.

Thus, in order to maintain the status quo, Dokubo has appealed to youths in the Niger Delta to sustain their support for Buhari. Dokubo, speaking in Abuja, when a group of Niger Delta youths paid him a visit, said Buhari means well for the region, adding that their continuous support for the president and his administration would attract more development to the area.

Lionel Messi Set To Miss Real Madrid Clash With Injury

Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi, is a doubt for Wednesday’s Copa del Rey’s semi-final against Real Madrid, after sustaining a thigh injury in the 2-2 draw with Valencia on Saturday.

Messi scored twice, as the hosts came from 2-0 down to earn a point and extend their lead at the top of LaLiga to six points.

It took his tally to 11 in the last nine matches in all competitions.

However, it was not without cost as he needed treatment for what appeared to be a dead leg shortly after equalising.

Manager Ernesto Valverde does not know if he will recover in time for the fixture.

“(Messi) has a small problem. I can’t say exactly what problem he has, I don’t know,’ he told a press conference after the match.

“We will have to wait to see what medical staff say. If he’s in good shape, he’ll play on Wednesday. We will wait. I imagine it’s nothing, but we’ll wait a few hours. Leo didn’t ask me to sub him off,” Valverde told reporters after the game.

Igbo’ll move from VP to Presidency – Atiku

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has reassured the Igbo that they would move from being Vice President to Presidency after his tenure.

He told Ndigbo that PDP has given them every other position except Presidency, which he reiterated would be made good after his tenure. Arriving the venue by 6:10 pm, he apologised for late arrival but noted that the people persisted and waited for him because they were PDP faithfull right from 1999. Atiku said: “You may not know that you have two over three in this election but you know you have the Vice President and the first lady. You May not have such opportunity again. “From Vice President the next is President.

I therefore urge you to support all PDP candidates for national assembly, you Governorship candidate and me for President.” The Vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi noted that South East is home for PDP, promising that if elected, the region will witness great transformation in the next four years.

“That roads were not built will be a thing of the past.” said Obi. Senator Jim Nwobodo who recently returned to the party described Abubakar as next President of Nigeria and appreciated his choice of an Igbo man as his Vice. “Ndigbo will vote for you one hundred percent,” Nwobodo reassured Abubakar. Among the party dignitaries that spoke at the campaign ground included, Atiku Presidential Campaign Director General and Senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki; Deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu; Governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; former governor of Cross River state, Liyel Imoke.

See The Latest Update On The Prolonged ASUU Strike

The Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, have again failed to reach a compromise to end the ongoing strike by the university lecturers.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, who addressed newsmen after the closed door meeting with the union on Friday in Abuja said the meeting was protracted.

He said,

“The meeting was protracted, but the good news is that we have gotten to the end of the tunnel.

“We met them half way and we have finished the gray areas and on the issue of N50 billion, we have offered what we have.

“We do not have N50 billion and we cannot do N50 billion, but we have offered them something reasonable.

“So they have to take it back, and go and present to their members.”

Ngige, however, expressed hope that students would return to school soon, saying “We will know when they will go back by Thursday”.

Earlier, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, ASUU President said the meeting had been adjourned to Feb. 7.

“So, far on the level of progress made so far, I cannot tell you that now until I tell my members.

“It is the feedback of the last meeting we came to present to government today.

“But right now, we have a new set of information that we have to go and present to our members until we tell our members, we cannot tell you,” he said.

Ogunyemi noted that progress had been made on the ongoing negotiations.

He added that

“We are making progress and the progress we are making is for everybody’s interest and stakeholders will benefit at the end of the day.

“We will be meeting on Thursday, after which, we will address the press.

“We have trashed all areas, so the progress we have made must first be related to our members.

“So until we tell them, and they tell us what to do that, that is only when we can relate to the press. The meeting adjourned till Thursday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the strike commenced on Nov. 5, 2018.

The lecturers are demanding for the implementation of some agreements with the Federal Government since November 2009.

NAN also reports that one of their major demands is the implementation of university revitalisation fund

Politics / Federal Government To Establish Entrepreneur Bank – Osinbajo by pre5: 7:27am On Feb 02, 2019
Federal Government To Establish Entrepreneur Bank – Osinbajo

Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo disclosed this while addressing the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally held on Friday at Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.

Osinbajo said that the bank, when established, would give loans to youths and women at very low interest rate to improve their businesses.

He told the party supporters that when APC in 2015 promised to provide jobs for five million Nigerians, the opposition party did not believe, he however stressed that the party had delivered on its campaign promises.

N-Power is only the beginning; we are starting something called the entrepreneur bank. That bank is for giving loans to men and women like this in N-Power who have a plan for the future.

The loans will be given to them at very little interest rate so that they can start their own businesses, and so that they can make progress.

When we said in 2015 that we will start N-Power, they said it was impossible, that how can you employ five million people? But we have done it.

We said we were going to do home-grown school feeding, today we are feeding 9.2 million children all over Nigeria.

They say it is impossible but home-grown school feeding is here. Home-grown school feeding used 6.8million eggs in one week and we are expanding it.

If you are a young man or woman here and you vote for PDP, know that you are living in the past, every young man or woman must go to the next level.

If you have voted PDP in the past, apologise and say we are going to the next level.

I cannot remain on the same level. The next level is where it is happening. Everything we said we will do, we have already done and we will do more, Osinbajo said.

The vice president urged Akwa Ibom people not play opposition, stressing that the state was strategically positioned for development.

According to him, palm oil being abundant in the state when properly harnessed, would replace crude oil and boost the its economy.

We have found here palm oil which will be a replacement for crude oil, so we are going to be number one in this local government. That is one of the reasons that you must join the Federal Government under the APC.

Akwa Ibom should not be in opposition, no reason. There is every reason for youto join so that you become part of the next level.

All of the young people who are here, the government of President Buhari is determined to make sure that not only do you have jobs, you have quality jobs.

That is one of the most important things we are doing. That is why you must support APC, he said.

Earlier, the APC governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom, Mr Nsima Ekere, assured that the Federal Government that the state had resources to replace crude oil with palm oil.

Ekere said that when crude oil was no more Akwa Ibom palm oil would sustain the nations economy.

Mr Vice President, as you are going, take the message the message to the president that when crude oil is finished, we will sustain the economy with our palm oil, Ekere said.

Technology Market / Facebook To Encrypt Instagram Messages Ahead Of Integration With Whatsapp, Faceb by pre5: 10:02am On Jan 26, 2019
toptipz.com.ng

Facebook to encrypt Instagram messages ahead of integration with WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger

Facebook is planning to roll out end-to-end encryption for Instagram messages, as part of a broader integration effort across the company’s messaging platforms, including WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.

the social media giant said reworking the underlying infrastructure of its three messaging apps will allow users to talk to each other more easily. The apps will reportedly remain independent of one another — with Instagram and WhatsApp bringing in 1 billion and 1.5 billion users, respectively.

In doing so, Facebook is adding end-to-end encryption to Instagram messages. That will bring a new level of security and privacy to Instagram users for the first time. Facebook will also begin encrypting Facebook Messenger by default, which has, to date, required users to manually switch on the feature.

So far, only WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted by default.

The plans are part of the company’s effort to keep people on the platform for longer, the Times reported, at a time when the company has 2.2 billion users but user trust has declined following a string of privacy scandals and security incidents. End-to-end encrypted messages can’t be read beyond the sender and the recipient — not even Facebook. In shutting itself out of the loop, it reduces the amount of data it can access — and can be theoretically stolen by hackers.

“We want to build the best messaging experiences we can; and people want messaging to be fast, simple, reliable and private. “We’re working on making more of our messaging products end-to-end encrypted and considering ways to make it easier to reach friends and family across networks.”

“As you would expect, there is a lot of discussion and debate as we begin the long process of figuring out all the details of how this will work,” the spokesperson said, without providing a timeline on the planned unification.

But how the integration will be met by European regulators is anybody’s guess.

Two years ago, Facebook rolled back its plans to begin sharing WhatsApp user data with the social network for advertising at the request of U.K. data protection authorities, putting the plan on ice across the European continent. Under the proposed changes to its terms and conditions, WhatsApp would have shared the user’s phone number that was used to verify their account, and the last time they used the service. That led to concerns about privacy, given that a real-world identity isn’t needed for WhatsApp, unlike Facebook, which requires users display their real names.

Facebook acknowledged that it didn’t have answers just yet about how it plans to navigate the issue, citing the early stages of its planned integration.

The app integrations are said to be a priority for 2019, with an eye for a 2020 release

Mark Zuckerberg is ‘proud’ of how Facebook handled its scandals this year

“I’m proud of the progress we’ve made,” he said in an end-of-year note posted on his Facebook page for everyone to see. Acknowledging that the social network played its part in the spread of hate speech, election interference and misinformation, Zuckerberg’s note seemed more upbeat about his response to the hurricane of hurt caused by the company’s laissez-faire attitude to world affairs and less concerned about showing contrition and empathy for the harm Facebook caused in the past year — including its inability to keep its users’ data safe and, above all else, its failure to prevent its site from being used to incite ethnic violence and genocide.

Zuckerberg’s tone-deaf remarks read like 1,000 words of patting himself on the back.

But where the Facebook co-founder pledged to “focus on addressing some of the most important issues facing our community,” he conveniently ignored some of the most damaging, ongoing problems that the company has shown little desire to solve, opting instead for quick fixes or simply pretending they don’t exist.
“More than 30,000 people working on safety…” isn’t enough to police the platform

A decade ago, Facebook had just 12 people moderating its entire site — some 120 million users. Now, the company relies largely on an army of underpaid contractors spread out across the world to moderate millions of potentially rule-breaking posts on the site each week.

Zuckerberg said the company has this year increased those working on safety to “more than 30,000 people.” That’s on top of the 33,600 full-time employees that Facebook had as of the end of September. But that’s a massive task to police Facebook’s 2.27 billion monthly active users. Those 30,000 new safety contractors equates to about one moderator for every 75,660 users.

Facebook’s contractors have long complained about long hours and low pay, and that’s not even taking into account the thousands of gruesome posts — from beheadings to child abuse and exploitation — they have to review each day. Turnover is understandably high. No other social network in the world has as many users as Facebook, and it’s impossible to know what the “right number” of moderators is.

But the numbers don’t add up. Facebook’s army of 30,000 safety staffers isn’t enough to combat the onslaught of vitriol and violence, let alone against an advanced adversary like the nation-state actors that it’s constantly blaming.

Sports / Brazil Legend Pele Blasts Lionel Messi, Calls The Barcelona Star ‘one Direction’ by pre5: 1:10pm On Dec 06, 2018
toptipz.com.ng

Brazil legend, Pele, has slammed Lionel Messi as having one skill and says he was a better player than the Barcelona superstar.

The 78-year-old also criticised Messi for being one-footed.

Pele, speaking with Folha de Sao Paulo, stated that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s inability to head the ball, means he was a better player.

“How can you make a comparison between a guy who heads the ball well, shoots with the left, shoots with the right and another who only shoots with one leg, only has one skill and doesn’t head the ball well?

“How can you compare? To compare with Pele, it has to be someone who shoots well with the left, shoots well with the right, and scores headers” he said.

Messi finished fifth in the 2018 Ballon d’Or awards held on Monday, behind players like Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoino

Politics / My Return In 2019 Non-negotiable – President Buhari by pre5: 12:55pm On Dec 06, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari has urged his supporters not to panic, saying his return to power in 2019 is non-negotiable. He also described those seeking to unseat him in next year’s general elections as enemies who stole from the nation blindly and should be avoided.

He made the disclosure yesterday at the National Consultative Forum of the National Committee of Buhari Support Groups held in Abuja. Buhari, who was represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, cited infrastructural development, fight against corruption, Treasury Single Account and school feeding programme as some of the achievements that have endeared him to the people.

He wondered why the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he accused of plundering the nation’s resources, would want to stage a return in 2019, especially after his own government has made the country “the best economy” in Africa.

Prominent guests at the event included the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode, and Senators George Akume, Ayogu Eze and Abu Ibrahim.

Tinubu vowed that the APC would beat down the PDP, flaying what he described as political prostitution by PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. He also criticised Senate President Bukola Saraki for allegedly riding on the ruling party’s mandate to give a lifeline to the opposition.

Osinbajo’s campaign train stopped at the Nyanya and Karu areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) yesterday for the commencement of a door-to-door campaign. Security operatives on his entourage had a herculean task controlling the crowd as people struggled to catch a glimpse of the vice president and shake his hands as he moved through the densely populated suburbs.

Osinbajo, at Nyanya, was received at the residence of Alhaji Kabiru Ahmed. Addressing the crowd there, he said: “We are here to greet you and we want to say to you that President Buhari is determined that if you vote for him for this second term, we will all go higher; we will all do better. Our country can feed all of us and we can find work for everybody because we have the money.

“I want you all, everybody who is here, please, make sure that you vote for President Buhari in 2019. As you know, he’s a truthful man; he’s an honest man. Our money will be used for us; it will be used to build our roads. Our money will be used properly. It will not be stolen. So, let us vote for the man who will use our money well.”

He had a similar message for the people at a community square in Karu. He said: “We are going higher, higher; we are going higher and higher, and I am very happy to be here with you. I want you to believe that President Muhammadu Buhari is going to do even better.”

Buhari, who is currently attending the UN Climate Change Conference, COP24, pledged that his government would not rest until the remaining Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in April 2014 have been released.

He renewed the commitment yesterday in Katowice, Poland, at a bilateral meeting with Swiss President Alain Berset, on the margins of the conference. The president had spent the entire day at the International Conference Centre, Katowice, where he delivered his national address at the opening of the 12-day meeting, met with several world leaders, and visited the Nigerian pavilion.

During his meeting with the Swiss president, Buhari thanked the Swiss Confederation for its role as intermediaries in efforts to secure the release of some of the abducted. The issue of the remaining girls and other kidnapped persons will remain a “key priority” for the Nigerian government, he said.

Buhari and his Swiss counterpart discussed joint strategies to ensure the safe return of the girls, building on past successes. He also welcomed the Swiss president’s commitment to continue providing humanitarian assistance to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nigeria.

In separate bilateral meetings with the President of Poland Andrzej Duda and the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Buhari commended the country for a successful outing at the opening of the COP24 meeting.

He told his Polish counterpart that Nigeria was facing serious climate change challenges, particularly the receding Lake Chad, which is a source of livelihood to some 40 million people living in the region.

“Nigeria is totally committed to global efforts to mitigate and adapt to effects of climate change,” Buhari told the Polish leader, whose country holds the presidency of COP24.

Meanwhile, the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari yesterday stunned her audience when she revealed that two men in her husband’s government were obstructing the administration’s progress.

She regretted that but for the duo the APC-led government would have achieved more. The men, according to her, would never allow things to move fast. She made the revelation at the National Women Leadership Summit organised by a group, Project 4+4, which is seeking support for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in 2019. The event was held at the National Women Development Center, Abuja.

The president’s wife, who did not disclose the names of the men, said she was dismayed at the disposition of some Nigerians who, rather than fight the two, crawl to them at night to curry favour.

In an emotionally laden voice, Mrs. Buhari added: “I have realised that Senator Babafemi Ojudu, SA political to the president, and Dr. Hajo Sani, my aide Sajo, and Wife of the Vice President Mrs. Osinbajo are not comfortable with my saying this and want me to confine myself to my prepared speech but we must say the truth.”

She urged women to vote massively and return the APC to power and encouraged them to spread the news of accomplishments by the government. She also called for a minute’s silence in honour of soldiers that died fighting the insurgency.

She commended the political group for organising the summit and setting the tone for other Buhari support groups. Also speaking at the event, the wife of the Vice President Dolapo Osinbajo commended women for providing a permanent support base for the APC. She urged them to keep supporting the party to achieve a better Nigeria for them and their children.

Earlier, the national coordinator of Project 4+4, Comrade Garba Musa Bello, explained that the purpose of the summit was to bring together women from the country’s 774 local government areas and give them a strategy for the campaign.

In a related development, the Deputy Inspector General of Police for the South West, Mr. Oshodi Glover Agboola, disclosed yesterday that the Inspector General of Police has put together a “robust and elaborate” security arrangement to ensure peaceful campaign for all the political parties.

At an interactive session with political party leaders and officers from other security agencies in Abeokuta, Ogun State, he urged “everyone to tread on the path of peace before, during and after the 2019 elections.”

He warned that any person found with arms during campaigns would be prosecuted. He also appealed to parents and guardians to keep their wards off thuggery, because “politics is not a do or die affair.”

Zidane Begins Plans To Replace Man United Boss Mourinho

Zinedine Zidane has begun taking English Language lessons, as he prepares to replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

Zidane remains the most in-demand manager, while patiently waiting for his next challenge after delivering three successive Champions League titles at Real Madrid.

With United on the slide and already eight points adrift in the title race behind Liverpool, the pressure is on Mourinho particularly after his public fallout with Paul Pogba.

The Sun claims that Zidane was learning the language and he would have practiced during his recent trip to London.

Zidane attended The Best FIFA Awards 2018, where he was nominated for The Best Male Coach of the Year, but lost out to his compatriot Didier Deschamps, who guided Les Bleus to World Cup glory.

Culture / A List Of The Most Popular Language by pre5: 12:19pm On Jun 18, 2018
toptipz.com.ng

1. Mandarin Chinese

Native speakers : 955 million
Widely spoken in: China, Taiwan, and Singapore

Mandarin Chinese takes the cake as the world’s most spoken language based on its tremendous number of native speakers. As the standard official and literary form of Chinese based on the Beijing dialect and one of the official languages of the United Nations, Mandarin is the second most popular online language, and it continues growing.

2 English

Native speakers: 360 million
Widely spoken in: the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland), Republic of Ireland, Africa (as a lingua franca, official or educational language in 20 countries), the Americas and the Caribbean (Canada and the United States as well as in 15 Caribbean countries), Asia (India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore and Sri Lanka), Australia and the Pacific Islands (Australia, New Zealand and over 15 pacific islands)

The wide spread of English around the globe and its presence in some of the world’s most economically influential countries have given English its place as the world’s second most spoken language. It is the most used language on the internet and one of the United Nation’s official languages. It is interesting to note that the number of non-native English speakers nearly doubles the number of native English speakers, making it the world’s most learned and spoken foreign language. The number of native speakers in 2010 has actually decreased since 2007, while the number of non-native speakers continues increasing.

3. Spanish

Native speakers: 427 million
Widely spoken in: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay, and Venezuela, and widely spoken in over 20 more countries

The prominence of Spanish in the Americas and Europe has led Spanish to becoming one of the world’s most spoken languages with over 420 million native speakers and a growing number of non-native speakers. It is also one of the official languages of the United Nations. It’s an official, national, or widely spoken language in 44 countries, including the United States. 4. Hindi

Native speakers: 310 million
Widely spoken in: India, Nepal, Fiji, and Pakistan

The standard and Sanskrit register of the Hindustani language known as Hindi is one of India’s official languages, and its large population of Indian speakers has led Hindi to becoming one of the world’s most spoken languages. According to linguistic standards, Hindi and Urdu are the same language; however, due to some key differences between their writing systems and vocabulary, they will be considered separate for the sake of this list.

French is the official language of over 29 countries throughout the world and is the second-most widely spoken first language in the European Union. Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has reportedly revealed three signings he want to make after succeeding Arsene Wenger. Arsenal confirmed Emery as their manager this morning with statements from the Spaniard, Stan Kroenke and Ivan Gazidis.

The 46-year-old takes over from Wenger knowing the Gunners squad is in dire need of an overhaul following two turbulent Premier League campaigns.

And the Mirror say Emery has handed Arsenal a three-man wishlist as he aims to steer them to the title at the first time of asking.

Top of his list is Bayer Leverkusen star Bernd Leno.

Arsenal have recently dismissed talk of a Petr Cech exit by giving the veteran the No 1 shirt.

However, despite that, Emery wants Leno, who could leave with just two years left on his current deal.

Borussia Dortmund ace Sokratis Papastathopoulos is also on his radar.

With Shkodran Mustafi primed to be shown the door, and Laurent Koscielny injured, the Greece international’s signing may be accelerated.

And the Mirror name Jean Michael Seri as Emery’s final target.

The Ivory Coast international has blossomed for Nice in Ligue 1 and can be signed by activating his £35million clause in his contract.

Emery wanted the player while at PSG.

And, with regards to Arsenal, he is determined to succeed where he failed before.
