Cos I've used the current gcam on my LG and the interface is totally different from this one and I used the old Google camera so I noticed the difference straight away..

See this GCAM you're seeing is originally known as Google Camera the one that was on play store at a point around 2014/2015 period I used to use it then on my HTC one X way back...
While the original gcam the one with the hype was originally developed for only Google pixel devices after then e no cun dey play store.. So like I said this one is the very first Google camera that was an app in the store. For the GCAM on pixel devices to be ported to Umidigi and the rest MTK chips phones Google has to develop it for mtk chips themselves before it can be ported to other mtk devices.

ah this doesn't happen on the x6.. I can open and leave multiple apps at a time, sleep off and still meet all the apps opened and running .. Though the pie security patch update came way earlier than this I got it on the first of this month which was about 60mb.. I hope the next update on the x5 fix the ram management ish.

Hopefully the next update will solve it

Since I updated I can't leave my pubg on standby for 5mins or more.. It always restarts whenever I go back to it.. Even for 2mins it always starts from the beginning

I was/am also facing this issue with mega app was using it to download Shazam yesterday whenever I leave the app to another barely a minute and it'll be closed.. same with UC browser too ram management has been pretty aggressive

Update: Noticed ram management was too aggressive closed mega app I was using to download after I left the app for about 2mins or so... Then Internet Speed Meter also closes itself after a couple of Minutes this has been the same since I got the phone

Is someone else experiencing any issues after this latest Nokia X5/5.1 plus update?

I have two issues.

1. Phone app stops working on reboot.

2. Volume doesn't work on media apps. Worked on call, alarm, notifications

I had to use safe mode to fix the volume issue.

Please share what you've noticed.

I guess why its not so good at shooting humans is maybe because there's no smoothening or filters...

Me I like raw photos without any filters or thereabout.. maybe they just need a better HDR+

Also from what I've noticed X5 cam shoots incredible landscape/nature pictures compared to shooting a person

I thought about that too, but then I watched some reviews and found out that gcam gets the cameras on RN7 on par with the newly released redmi Y3... funny fact,even with gcam,the RN7 cameras aren't as good as the Nokia x6,Realme 2 pro or mi a2 cameras

it might be o, I've used x5 and that is one of the best optimised phones I've ever used excluding Iphone 5. Redmi 7 might have a bigger battery but they might perform equally.
I used might twice so it is not certainty, its either here or there, and android one in my opinion is a better ui than miui especially when it comes to overall performance and battery performance too

So which one you dey recommend for the babe

mtk isn't trash, hell I seriously considered Nokia X5, not even because of this thread or the other Nokia thread, the phone does very very well. And since last year mtk has turned out some exceptianal processors, the only reason I'll still tilt towards Snapdragon is cos of the additional room for customizations and a lot of Nokia phones dont support unlocking bootloader and as such one can't grasp the full potential of the mtk chipsets in those phones. My assertion that sd660 is better than helio p60 isn't just based on paper comparisons or what this one has that the other doesn't have. I want that dude to get one link where both were compared and helio p60 (especially a fully clocked one) performed on par or better than sd660... Simple. If he is right, I cede and agree and besides it will be a learning opportunity for me.

Helio P60 and SD660 Both Chipset deal with AI, just that Helio P6 soc has a little bit more advanced modole for AI.. Just As SD660 has a more advance GPU etc (it's just like saying because x5 has a slightly better Camera, means N7 camera is bad)...

Helio P60 and SD660, Both are good chipset, they both pass each other on some different areas, both non is better than the other

On the Xiaomi thread, some users opined that Redmi 7 has very good battery back up while on this thread X5 rules.
On this thread, the best phone in the 45k+ range is X5, on the xiaomi thread, ok options plenty sha but Redmi 7 is among them.

So basically all this is bias for the phone you are using, I am using neither I just needed suggestions for which of the two I could get for my guy's younger(and extremely cute) sister
