How can a Yoruba man say that Igbo language is nasalized?
This is the joke of the century.
The one reason why I hate Yoruba language is that it's over nasalized.

Sometimes I wonder what's wrong with a Yoruba mind, it accuses people of everything it is many times guilty of.

My brother,this is my major grouse with them. The inferiority complex is thick and unbearable. Thank God social media is living up to its essence in exposure.

From my understanding the word Oyibo in Igbo land means a foreigner with a culture entirely different from the Igbo. The word doesn't necessarily mean a white man. When you eat garri with a spoon the Igbo calls you "Onye Oyibo". Onye ocha and Oy'bo are a little different.

Let me shed more light on that 'onye ocha-oyibo' ...

From that your perspective/example,it is conceptualizing it to a figurative speech which centers on attitude/character,same as bekee' it doesn't carry a literal interpretation to it unlike, 'onye ocha' which by standard igbo literally means "white person" alluding more on/to colour and light skin and the variance which carries both literal and figurative interpretation is "oyibo" a phrase/slang coined to mean white man or someone that behaves like a white person/foreigner. The same goes for 'bekee too.

Although people have mixed these words over the years of time due to relative understanding hence oyibo/bekee could be used in place of onye ocha,mmadu ocha(nwoke na nwanyi) etc

This thread is very laughable and to my opinion,unnecessary. Seeing that the word 'oyibo' even sounds igbo in a mainstream vocal phonology.

Can't remember how long that word has rung into the ears with an igbo lingual for centuries with even documented fact of how the word was coined by ndiigbo out of mockery of the white man(onye ocha) on how to call an igbo person(onye igbo),hence the phrase 'onye ibo' to 'oyibo'...
