No, he agreed with his friend and his wife to add his children to her UK student application and he is now applying as the kids father and his friend's wife- as the kids mother. His friend is in another country.

My friend is married to him legally in Nigeria and if he is also legally married to that other lady then what can she do to expose this.

The issue here is, how can their real mother enter the UK when another woman is standing in her place. If he has been truthful and explained to her and also get his wife consent as their stepmother, is that not better? Will UKVI reject it even though on several occasions (forms and applications in the UK) he has always been saying he doesn't have any children apart from the ones with his wife.

My own concern is if she reports this to UKVI, will her husband not go to prison and the friend's wife visa cancelled and will she not be deported for lying. The repercussions of reporting to UKVI is what she wants to know before going forward.

Ray7878:
If he is claiming him and their mother lives in the address, so what other person did he use to claim were the mother on their application?

My main concern is more of if he is still married to the lady in Nigeria. And he is only using your mate to get his families down here.

This has happened a lot to people around me, and it’s mostly the men that would do this. They would have already had a plan with their wives in Nigeria, she would endure and take it as she wants to end up here eventually with her kids.

I would probably start getting UKVI involved anonymously. Just because he lied to her. I am sure she wouldn’t have mind the fact that he had kids in Nigeria, but the fact that he kept it away from her, now applying for those kids secretly, what’s next? Apply for the Nigerian lady secretly too and call her his sister? Honestly if I was in that position I would notify UKVI.

But that's where the problem is, how will the children bring their mother to the UK on the long run when the father has claimed that another woman is their mother.
This woman in question is his friend's wife who came to the UK to study. The friend is in another country but knows about it.

giselle237:
As long as the mother of the Nigerian children is a Nigerian woman she can not side with his wife against taking her children to the UK… because in the long run her thinking will be tht her children will inturn bring her over. This is very common. They might even still be legally husband and wife…

Goodafternoon everyone, I have a question regarding dependant children.
My friend has been married to her husband for few years now only for him to later disclose he has children in Nigeria. They have their British citizenship now and the husband is trying to bring his children in without telling the wife.
She found out but to her surprise he has applied for their visa using someone else's name as the mother of the children (she knows the children mother's name), this lady is married to his friend. She also found out the friend knows about this arrangement.
The problem now is he wants the children to stay with he and his wife, all this is through eavesdropping on his conversations but he hasn't told her yet.
Her major concern is how he can apply without the children's mother.
Should she contact the children's mother anonymously because she is trying to report this to UKVI because she thinks this will backfire. I have told her to calm down first.
Also, the man is claiming in the application he and the "children's mother" are living in the same address which is a lie. The house is where he lives with his wife and their 3 children lives presently.

Dear Sir/Ma,
Please I will like to be enlightened on the below senerio:

I am on tier 2 visa for 3 year and my dependant is also on tier 2 dependant visa for 3 years.

we are already on 6months now and I want to change my employer.

Please I will like to ask if:
1. Should I use the extension visa link to apply for my new visa?
2. Should I also apply for a new visa for my dependant or I should allow her current visa to end?
3. Will I pay for IHS since my the IHS I paid for the 3 years visa has not expired?

I will be very happy if you could help me out.

Thank you.
Hello, I am on a tier 2 also and have changed employer before.....
1. I don't know what you mean but I go through the gov.uk site
2. Yes, your dependant needs a new visa, if you move, she moves. She is not the main applicant so she can't continue to stay on the visa
3. You both have to pay a new one but the difference will be refunded within 90days to you. But act fast, there is news it will go up after the election if Boris remains as PM.

Hello people, kindly advise, my parents have both visited me in 2018 but separately (early and late 2018) dad is retired while mum was working then. Now, mum will retire in January. I am thinking of applying for both of them for 2 years visitors visa before mum retires.
1. Do my mum need a letter from her employer saying she is visiting her daughter (she was given for previous application but she wouldn't be able to get one now as she is retiring soon).
2. Is it better to do them separately
3. I will be fully sponsoring them, do they still need their statement of account even if it doesn't have much money.
4. Dad's pension payment started after he visited in 2018 in his salary account but I send him money in his other account, does he need to submit both accounts.
5. Should I wait for mum to retire before applying for her if I am doing it separately.
6. My brother is currently serving and wants to visit me but my husband thinks he might be refused, he wants him to wait till when he comes for his MSc hopefully next year or 2021. Please can you advice me on which documents he needs to put together to enable him get the visa ( I really want him to visit before he applies for his student visa). Thanks
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by PreciousGemRubb: 7:35pm On Nov 19, 2019
1. She can still get a letter of introduction if possible.
2. If they both have landed property, other immediate family members who still live in Nigeria, that may stand as proof that they will return back to Nigeria, so you can apply for both of them together at same time. i.e. they will submit land documents, pension payment for dad, salary payment for mum, birth cert of other children living in Nigeria etc.

If you can't supply this, then better to apply seperately and get them to include marriage cert + letter from the other spouse stating that they will remain in Nigeria when the other spouse is in the UK.

3. Yes! they still need their bank account. It doesnt need to have lots of money in it.

4. Submit both account. He can explain that he recieves pension in one account and motnhly stipends from you in the second account. Both source of payment serves as income. Make sure you provide proof of you sending them money to their account e.g. money transfer reciepts.

5. You really don't have to wait, if she can still proof that her employment is still valid and that she recieves salary, then I see no reason why this should be a problem.

6. Your husband may have a point. But its difficult to advise without understanding your brothers current circumstances in full. i.e. a lot of other details go into refusing visa besides not being employed.

However, if i was in your shoes, will wait to help him apply for a student visa directly though to avoid multiple visa refusal over short period of time of aplying for a visit visa and then a student visa etc

NOTE: I am not a guru. I am applying for my parents too, but gave advise based on the little knowledge I got from this group and from helping my mum successfully get a visit visa.

best of luck smiley

Thanks so much for replying. I will appreciate if there is someone else that can advice me as I need to start the application ASAP for my parents, thanks

Thanks everyone on this page, my dad got his visitor's visa today. GRANTED!!! Thanks all.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by PreciousGemRubb: 10:19pm On Dec 20, 2017
1.The only reason why I didn't add my mum details is because I said my mum and I are supporting my brothers. I judged it that I am funding them financially and my mum will be with them while my dad is in the UK.
2.I will be adding all my mum details in this new application: her payslip, employment letter, 6 months bank statements too
3.My dad can not tender any pension payment because he has been waiting for his pension for close to 3 years now.
4. I didn't want to send him too much money so it doesn't count as money lodgement.
The only thing I will add now is my mum's details. I will appreciate any other feedback.

Hello house, my dad just picked up his passport and was refused. I received a call from UKVI officer where I emphasised that I will be funding his trip 100% as he is a pensioner but still he was accessed financially. I stated that my mum will be helping out with my brothers and that was another point stated. I want to reapply for him immediately as I feel the officer judged his application wrongly and we can't appeal.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by PreciousGemRubb: 10:58pm On Nov 19, 2017
Hello house, I am filling the form for my dad and I need clarifications with the following:
1. I said cost of visit is £1500. Do you think that's enough (visitor visa) Visiting for 17days. I also said I am fully sponsoring the trip with £1500.
2. I started he spends N60,000 monthly and I will explain that the money is partly from me and my mum as he is retired. (No pension yet)
3. Asking for dependant who depend on him financially and I said No but explained in the additional info box that he has children but doesn't help financially as he is retired. Is it Ok?
4. Is it compulsory to put my dad's parents details. No one knows their birthday (they are late)

Brightingsus:
Ok! Well, the most important sender's bank account is the one originating from the UK since that's where you are based. I am not sure 'GTB' will show in the deposit corner of your dad's statement. You can verify. I did the same for my mother inlaw. I was sending funds to my Nig account, then transferring to my mother inlaw. It was only my name that appeared on her statement, not my Nig account. Like I said, confirm.

As for money remittance, don't you have receipts for every transaction? You should. When you send money to Nig through Bureeu de change, individuals that run the business, or Azimo, you should always ask for receipts. The receipts will contain vital information like your name as the sender, your address in the UK, date of transaction, amount sent in GBP, exchange rate and amount in NGN to be received in Nigeria. I have all my receipts. The transactions on the receipts will bear the amount sent to Nigeria which amount in GBP will reflect in your UK bank statement.

I need you to verify a few things...
1. For how long did you send/have you been sending money to your dad through 'individuals'?
2. How many transactions have you done through Azimo?
3. Find out if 'GTB' shows under deposits in your dad's statements.
4. Why don't you have transaction receipts?
If it was last year then I will say I have receipt as I was still living in London but this year I moved outside london to a very quiet area...absolutely nothing there. So basically, I call and send the money to the person and receive the alert (different people though). I started using Azimo a month ago when I was really stucked and a friend told me about it.
Yes- it shows GTB/My name/ NIP under transaction details on my dad bank statement
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by PreciousGemRubb: 11:27pm On Oct 29, 2017
Brightingsus:
That's no issue at all. Don't try to change the name on the transactions. You must explain the transactions and highlight the fact that your name on your dad's statements is your maiden name; then include your marriage certificate. If you have been consistently doing this way of money transfer for like 6 months, then you would need to include your GTB bank statement as well as your UK bank statements. Highlight your UK bank statement with asterisk on the line of each transaction showing the amount leaving your account to go to your GTB. Then highlight your GTB statements with asterisk on the line of each transaction coming in from the UK reflecting same amount. Then include your payslips amongst other things you have. Then mention all these in your cover letter. This is how to explain origin of funds. Don't forget to include your dad's bank statements too.

With tact you will find out that making a Uk visa application is actually easy.
Thanks for the reply but how do I get my GTB statement from the UK plus I use individuals into currency exchange to send money to my GTB account. I can't get a detailed information on how I get the money from pounds to naira. I recently started using Azimo but it's just a month. What can I do?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by PreciousGemRubb: 9:13am On Oct 29, 2017
Brightingsus:
To reduce the amount of explanation to do, you can simply go to any branch of his bank (dad being present) and change personal details. Amend the address and print a new bank statement. He could do well by going with any ID with the new address to the bank. Consistency is key.
Thanks Brightingsus, 1 more question. I send money to my dad every month using my Nigeria account (GTB). I send the money from UK to my GTB before sending it to him so as to keep my GTB account active. The only issue I have now is that the GTB account is still in my maiden name. Do i need to explain (in my invitation letter) why all the transaction from me to him is showing my names with the old surname. Or do i just leave it as I am including my marriage certificate.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by PreciousGemRubb: 10:00pm On Oct 28, 2017
Hello House, I was just going through my dad's bank statement and realised it has the old address. The land use and all other documents has the current address. The old address was a rented flat but the current address is his own property and it's been over 15years since the move. Should he change his address and print out a new bank statement or will it not affect the application. The current address is what I filled in the application.
P.S: I am only inviting my dad for now and not both my parents as I have stated in my previous posts (Mum not really eager to travel yet).

Thanks.

The heading does not matter. The heading is not looked at in deciding an application. The heading you have is ok.

Hello house, I am writing the cover letter (visitor's visa) for my parents. Please what will the heading be? I wrote "Application for a visitor's visa" but I think it might be wrong.

Thanks. My grandma doesn't have a medical condition, it's just that she is elderly and frail really. She has no birth certificate so I think I will not add that as a tie.
1.I want them to come for 2 weeks only during the school holiday, hopefully this December/January so is £2,500 ok for both of them (to fully sponsor them) with a salary of £1,500 per month.
2.Am on tier 2 visa. I have all my docs from council bills, payslips, utility bills, tenancy agreement, employment letter.
3. I am thinking of applying for them separately (not as a unit) but at the same time. Don't want one application to affect the other. What do you think?
4. Dad got landed property, mum not yet?
5. Got 4 siblings and 2 are underaged but 1 is in the university and the other in sec.school. Do they need to state where my siblings will be when they travel to the UK.
They will be staying at my granny's. Do my parents need any docs to support that.
Thanks ( never thought about my siblings birth certificates).
P.S: Sorry for the questions-my friend's mum was refused a visitor's visa because she was assessed alone even when my friend stated she will be fully sponsoring her. The reason was that my friend's mum has insufficient funds for the trip.

1. One letter should suffice, just state there that you are inviting and sponsoring as well. Put the 2 as the heading sef.

2. Yes different letters, their circumstances are not the same, one is retired and one still in service. Hopefully they submit as a unit, but advisable they print their documents separately

3. Both, but since you are sponsoring them fully, be sure they fill that in the application forms. If the ECOs spot their account statements, he could ignore your account statement/sponsorship and concentrate on their account statement instead particularly if it isn't well funded to wrongfully justify a refusal

4. Just payslips

5. Either is fine

6. Please have them state all these in their cover letter. Mum would need a letter of introduction from work and possibly the school calendar. Include your siblings birth certificates too especially if they're underage. And documents of landed property if any

7. Depends on how long are they staying and how much would their trip cost you personally. Remember it is full sponsorship which means travel/flight tickets are included. Although, I don't think they are as strict with U.K. resident sponsorship as with self/Nigerian 3rd party sponsorship.

8. Mention alternative care for her in their cover letter(s), but "rest from caring for granny" sha? I dunno about that one o! Lol

Other documents 1. Siblings' birth certificates 2. Mum's Introduction from work 3. Grandma's birth certificate? passport data page? Or hospital card or any document to prove her status 4. Dad's retirement certificate/letter 5. Sponsor's passport data page 6. Sponsor's utility bill 7. Sponsor's bank Statement 8. Sponsor's birth certificate to prove relationship with parents from names 9. Sponsor's birth certificate because of the change of name?

Can't think of any more documents now, there could be more...
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by PreciousGemRubb: 8:20pm On Oct 16, 2017
Hello house, I have questions regarding
1. letter of invitation and letter of sponsorship. Do I need to write both letters seperately?
2. I am inviting my parents so for the cover letter, must they write it separately? I mean one for dad,one for mum.
3.For my dad, he has a salary account (which will now be his pension account) and his personal account. Must he print out 6 months bank statement for both accounts? I send him money using his personal account.
4. For mum, does she need both payslips and tax clearance or just payslips.
5. I will be applying for them from UK, should I use visa4uk or gov.uk
6. For ties back home, my parents care for my grandma and then my siblings are back home and dad needs to sort out his pension. Mum has a job in a government school. I will set the trip date during school holidays.
7. I want to fully sponsor them with £2,500. My hubby (he is in the UK)don't want me to add him to the application as his statement is not really good at the moment. Averagely i get £1,500 per month so is £2,500 too much to state as maintenance fund for them.
8. Reason for the trip- I want them to visit me as I want them to rest from caring for my elderly granny. My siblings and other family members have agreed to stay with grandma for the 2 weeks.
Any other things I need to add...thanks in anticipation.

Pzone:
One month bank statement will definitely raise eyebrows
So like how many month bank statement can I add plus he really does not have any money like that in his bank account.I send him N40,000,N20,000 just random but he uses it immediately so it doesn't stay in his account for long plus he gets money from my brothers but that's cash and not through the bank. The account is his salary account but since he is retired it's not really active anymore. So what can I do? Thanks

Hello everyone. I want to invite my parents to the UK. I want to sponsor both of them fully. Mum has a monthly salary of 100k but dad is retired for few months now. My husband and I have £2,500 to sponsor both of them. I am on a tier 2 visa. I have my utility bills, council tax and other bills. I want to send N150,000 to my dad's account gradually over the next few weeks before applying for the visa. My mum will attach her bank statement for 6 months (salary account) and payslip, and my dad-his pension documents and 1 month bank statement (N150,000). What else will help this application and how can I prevent them being refused. Thanks
