Since when did 'competitive' means 'impossible'? It's not easy anywhere even in that Manitoba.
No province is easier for PR,however check PNP quota vs study permit allocation for all provinces in canada for 2026 you will get a clear picture.
Ontario PNP quota is 14,119 vs study permit quota which is 70,074, study permit quota extremely overwhelmed PNP quota by far for ontario reasons why they target smaller provinces after pgwp approvals..
And this does not include those coming with lmia work permit or other only study permit..

Is PR in Ontario competitive? Yes, because it has the biggest cities and jobs.
Are people getting PR in Ontario? Yes, very much.

Take your negativity elsewhere. His case is different
At least you are aware grin

Don't mind that amnotapervert wanna be. Don't let him discourage u. Ontario is one of the best for PR. ChatGPT is ur friend
You think so !! If chatGpt is correct why are PGWPs and other work permit holders from ontario move or attempts to move to other province scrambling for PR options when they have exhausted some time on their work permit..
I hardly hear anyone moving to ontario from other provinces for PR..
There are tons of evidence on departure of ontario work permit holders on Facebook,Their top target saskatchewan. grin and the second province they target will penalize you for previous tie with other provinces. Manitoba!!!

Good morning. Thank you all for the help so far.

1. If I have an express entry profile, can I input the UCI number in the study permit form? It is asking for UCI number.
2. In the section asking for any previous application to come to or remain in Canada, if I have had an express entry profile in the past, can I state it there? Please note that I once got an ITA that I didn't proceed with. Or can I just stay silent on it.
3. Then can I use the same GCI account I used for my express entry for study permit?
4. Also, if I apply with kids and they are refused, will the refuse my study permit too?
5. What is the possible timeframe to start application to bring family in after I arrive Canada on study permit? (If I don't travel with them immediately)
Use same GCI account of express entry for study permit if you wish to,won't make any difference either if you create multiple accounts!!
The number asigned to the EE without submitting pr application is not UCI number that can be used on study permit application or any application, unless you have previously submitted application to IRCC in the past and issued a UCI number, on the application form Leave it blank, otherwise this may cause delay in processing..
Note: those forms are sensitive.. cool

My main question here is: was this a registered agent? Honestly, when I see people getting scammed by unregistered agents, it's frustrating because it's often avoidable. Personally, I’m a DIYer—I did my own application first, and since then, I’ve successfully helped several cousins, friends, and currently, my aunt and her friend.

If I ever had to use an agent, they would absolutely have to be legally registered so that I have a regulatory body to report to if things go wrong. Too many people fall for cheap, unqualified 'agents' who barely even understand the process.
DIY: will same lots of money at the long run!!If you know how to,as for me I am a zero agent person!! even if it is a registered immigration consultant,I don’t know how to patronise agents grin grin,as far as canada immigration applications is concerned..
I have successfully ✋️ handled all my application alone without using agent or immigration consultants..
Which includes" initial study permit +Spouse Open work permit application outside canada..
Multiple in canada study permit + Spouse Open work Permit extensions ..and I as a holder of Spouse Open work Permit!
Expression of interest application:province nominee program.
Invitation to apply for full application:province nominee program and nomination certificate issued,PNP Nomination on Spouse Open work Permit!
Including Permanent residence application.
If I was using agents only in canada applications would have cost me including spouse application not less than 10,000 dollars by immigration consultants.

Good day all, please I have a question... I'm applying for a Spouse Open work Permit ( my spouse has been given admission already). I'll like to know the following;

1. Am I required to mention all my work history in the last 10 years or can I simply put my current work history only?

I'm asking because I previously entered the PR pool as a dependent (but no ITA) an agent did it and I can't remember if he put any work history for me. Which brings me to my next question

2. While applying as a dependent for a PR, is there any column for putting a dependent's current job title with company name and dates. I'm referring to the dependent not the main applicant.

Thank you

NB: she applied for a master's degree
[2]Any information you have to fill for principal applicant, you must fill the information which applies to dependents in PR application both have same questions..

In the last 10 years personal history :there is columns for job title, company name and dates from start date to end date or current.

I would appreciate if anyone can enlighten me on how to go about this. My wife finished her 2yrs program last year. And we're both presently on work permit. We both work as PSW's. But I am thinking of doing a bridging program to cross Practial nursing. But I am confused what will happen to my wife's work permit if I apply for a study permit. I would appreciate any clarification. Thanks a lot.
Nothing!!! will happen to her work permit.
If you apply for study permit if approved, your work permit remains valid until it expires..
But you will still need to maintain the conditions on both permits..
And you will need full-time work to be eligible for PNP as home support worker, you will need to plan how to balance the 2 permits as a student, otherwise you will count on your spouse work experience!

The study permit processing time for Nigeria has been reduced from 8 weeks to 5 weeks.

@ amnotapervert what's your take on that?
What else could be reasons; massive enrollment drop due to immigration caps.

Hello,

Has anybody, who has been in the Express Entry Pool, also applied for the Study Visa here? How do you explain the intent to return after study? Since Express Entry is a permanent resident move. Will they believe the 'promise to return after study?

Can anybody give me an insight please? Please ooooo.
Creating an Express entry profile EE is not a permanent residence application but only if you have received Invitation to Apply and have submitted PR application.

Hello everyone ,

Please how can I respond to this ADR. I have been denied USA 🇺🇸 visa couple of times although I indicated it in my previous application and this PR application and I still have a valid Canada visa which I also declared my USA visa denials please how can I respond to this ADR ?
Write a letter of explanation of your travel history to US
To include reasons of refusal and dates of applications, all the applications made to us consulate, provide proof of refusals,if you don’t have these refusal documents let them know..
If you have been removed ,flagpoled or not,any entry to the US,if you have not let them know ..
You need to give all the information required in the ADR not only the denials..
They mentioned enforcement flagpoling because you have Canadian visa.

There’s no where a Practical nurse is higher than a Registered nurse. The entry requirement to practice as an RN in Canada is a bachelor’s degree doesn’t mean diploma RN are less than RPNs in Canada. For context, same Canada lets diploma nurses from the US practice as RNs in most provinces besides Ontario. Diploma trained nurses in Canada who were RNs before they made the shift to a bachelor’s degree all still work as RNs. My friend who’s a US trained Diploma RN works as an RN in BC with no additional schooling. In fact, a lot of Canadian healthcare systems come to the US to recruit and I have attended a few of their events. So no, RPNs in Canada aren’t more knowledgeable than Nigerian RN. That notion is laughable at best. Ask your sister to take a look at her nursing school curriculum and go look at a Practical Nursing program curriculum.

Additionally, most provinces will take her in if she has a US license. Maybe she should consider writing Nclex and obtaining a US license. Getting a Canadian license afterwards would be way easier and more of an administrative process.

The point of all of this is that going for RPN after being an RN doesn’t show career progression. It shows desperation and a desire to live/work in Canada.

Is there a reason she’s not doing an Acelerated bachelor of science in Nursing program? It will cost almost the same amount and take almost the same time.
Your bolded statement above should be referred to Canadian government ,why nurses in US can practice in canada but not Nigeria Since they are required to pass other exams and Nclex exam and obtained license before they can practice, the point is the system will not value your credentials from Nigeria without further actions ..
And telling someone in Nigeria to take Nclex exam, you cannot take Nclex in Nigeria unless you obtain a visa or travel to other countries to take the exam, the only nearest destination is Kenya or south africa..

How is A registered nurse going to school for practical nursing which is lower than RN that she already is, going to help help broaden her knowledge?
The Practical nursing which is diploma is even higher than RN obtained in Nigeria also a diploma, since she can't practice in canada without further action.
They sees it as inferior

I have no further explanation to make to convince anyone.

Let it be known that I applied for my study permit along with my spouse' OWP on 5th April. 6th April was a public holiday, and I had to do my biometrics on the 7th, while my spouse did hers on the 9th at about 13:22 in lagos. At about 3:55pm on the same 9th, we got our approval email request us to submit our passport.
In fact, as I type this, the passport is now ready to be collected from VFS Lagos.
Mind you, it's a funded PhD program

Gracias
IRCC processing time for PhD study visas is within 14 days ..
This can only concern PhD applicants.
Still doesn't prove if you are real don't get me wrong..

At the portal final decision where IRCC states application was approved they are also requesting for passport in that section is that a new thing?

BScN for 2026 are all closed, but I see some schools still open for RPN 2026 (16months).

My plan is to go for RPN sept 2026 intake and graduate December 2027 (16months). Then start RPN to BScN bridging in Sept 2028 (16 months)

Lots of schools offer RPN to BScN (bridging).
Best choice for you ooooo...Besides BScN that year 1 courses is a waste of time..
In some schools you fail practical or some courses in year 2,you will repeat class..

If she applies with the children and they get it it and somehoww mine doesn't work out or delays, she would have a hard time studying and taking care of the kids alone in Canada, don't you think so?
Na so...
I am just imagining how she will be doing shopping etc or try boarding a taxi in canada during winter, if she doesn't have a car, will be carrying two car seats with kids inside up and down to board a taxi..na that part hard pass..

Yes, testing the microphone is not a big deal—I actually enjoy doing that. And for this particular release, I’m quite familiar with it.

Just to clarify something: this is not flagpoling.
Flagpoling is when someone already in Canada leaves briefly (to the U.S. or places like St. Pierre and Miquelon) and re-enters to access immigration services at the border.

In this case, they are flying in directly from Nigeria, so it’s a completely different situation.

Worst case, let them test the mic and see how it goes. The mum already has a valid student visa, and the kids have valid visitor visas. At the end of the day, it also depends on the CBSA officer they meet at the port of entry. These officers are not monsters the way some people think—they assess based on documents and situation.

That’s why I always say, Naija no dey carry last 😄
You sef hear am from King Charles abi?
Minor kids can apply for study permit within Canada,if they want to study more than 6 months and if parent have study or work permit according to IRCC and apply for study permit with letter of acceptance..
How will that be possible if they require LOA to study..

Will share the flight ticket the day they plan to come in and update here the outcome. The mum with valid visitor visa and valid students and 4 minor kids with vistor visa.
Unless you want to test the microphone 🎤 they stopped flagpole for study permit at POE.
