charlesoz19: your view is wrong. I'm telling you from experience that she can switch careers 10 thousand times as long as she has a legitimate reason to do so. I was refused 3 times before getting an approval. you can check my timeline. Please understand also that each application is treated on n merit not due to previous reasons. I have talked to people here who did not apply for anything related to what they study and they are here studying. You can decide to switch career because you feel the Job you doing now is worth improving through education. you can switch careers and then return to your previous career because you feel you have to return to your previous passion and build it again. we all have different reasons for career switch. Just present it in a way that reveals your true intention. The VO always use the word convenience because what you want is possible but he just doesn't believe it's your true intention. So convenience him and you will get it. Nigeria's education cant be compared to Canada education at the same time you can't present Nigeria's education as cabbage, you just say why you see the need to study in a developed nation where education is a top priority. Do your research and you will understand my view. I've checked your SOP you posted which you said is yours ..since you said I should check your time .. You said your education is in pure chemistry Bsc...worked as a laboratory chemist in your country... Pursuing a higher education in the field of chemical laboratory technician from Canada... Durham college in Canada... There is no career change..so you can't compare your application with the other applicant... The bottom-line is that you compared your application with the other applicant that's the pointAnd NB I didn't state you can't change career in my post .. |

charlesoz19: Not totally correct. The presentation on his SOP will determine if the VO agrees or not. I have a BSC and worked for 7 years and here I am in a diploma programme But is your circumstances and the applicant circumstances same the VO claimed that the purpose of study is not consistent ...the applicant switched careers twice though the course the applicant intend to study in Canada is not stated on GCMS may have intended to pursue different career again...and ircc also give priority to study permit applications based on programme of study especially those in Health care and technology where there's in-demand occupation in canada they obviously knows what they are doing..including previous study from developed countries like UK 🇬🇧 and 🇺🇸 usa etc they give priority to these applicants...that does not mean that you won't meet eligibility requirements..they treat each application differently... If I may ask what is your program of study in Canada in which visa was approved...? Like I said earlier next VO will refer to the previous refusal if no advancement they may flag again... |

idirect: Good evening people. Please I need advice on how best to approach this situation. Attached is the note for my friend. She has deferred her admission in December from January when there was no response on her visa decision. The school approved her request to defer but they informed her that the certificate program (one year) has been discontinued and they only offer it in diploma now (2 years). She accepted the offer and waited for her visa decision which was eventually not approved. With this GCMS note, I want to ask if it's best we write a reconsideration letter and include a justification for why she needed the program or she should submit another visa application with the diploma offer or possibly apply to seek MSc admission in another school. I would appreciate your opinion on this matter, please. Writing a Reconsideration letter and include a jurisdiction why she needs the program will contradicts "inconsistent" to what is already submitted in the application, so that won't work even program is invalid... From GCMS : the applicant demonstrates through their submitted documentation that they possess an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in their respective field With Bsc and work experience application for a diploma program or previous will be refused next Visa officer will refer to previous refusal.. The applicant needs to apply for Msc.. |

Phone bill 40/month. 4. Groceries is in the range of 300-500/month. (NB you can go on steady fasting and use $20/month lol) 5. Tuition $8,000 every semester I.e every 4months. 6. Health insurance $1400 every year. 7. Haircut $32/month 8. Miscellaneous = $100-$200 /month.
Tuition is by far my biggest expense, followed by rent then groceries. As per income I earn roughly $2000 per month. I hope this helps prepare you for the journey ahead. City is Montreal This Montreal seems expensive..health insurance for $1400 per year ..while some universities offer health insurance for less than $800 for students... Since your working and having income tax deductions..you can file for tax return up coming year ..if you have not been doing so..and get some money back from the taxes paid to the government... Why spend $40 on phone bill/month when you have wifi@home am sure your school will have free WiFi for students.. Because it is mobile data purchase that can increase phone bill tariff.. |

The Draws they are doing nowadays are selective, not everyone is doing healthcare or tech, not everyone can write or speak French, not everyone can afford 30k cad to buy LMIa to boost express entry score . My messages goes to those people. It’s really hard here now. Do not go by what people who don’t live here says or using google to do research, listen to those who live here. 70 percent of these students falls in these categories, now what is their hope of staying back after spending over 60k cad to study here. The Canadian government stopped canada experience class draw since 2021 which was what the students relied on to get PR. No I don't live in Canada I live in port moresby in papau New Guinea getting info from Google.com And express entry is not the best option for PR in Canada says Google.. To be eligible for aborted Canada experience class you mentioned..you will still need 1year work experience in Noc 0 A B..even some PNP is better option than this.. You always advice that Canada is hard.. forget it, it won't stop immigrants from entering Canada..or you leave Canada to show good example..

Wsx2: Guys, this is an advice for those still considering coming to canada to study and have plans to stay in Canada after studying. Please consider your plans before making the move because it doesn’t worth it anymore.
If your plans is to come and study and go back home then no worries. Over 32,000 PGWP are expiring in March 2024. Canada government has told them to go back home . No more extension. Some of them are in the express pool with scores ranging from 460 to 490. The Canadian government has purposely increased the score so that most of them wont be able to get the ITA.
It is clear now that the government only want to make money off the students and send them back home. Also the country is very tough now and difficult to survive, cheap labour everywhere and the cost of living is way too high compared to other countries. Most Indians are now going to the US for their studies. Statistics shows that Indians which are the major students coming to canada , their applications to canada has dropped by over 50% percent in the past few months because the government has made it difficult for people to get PR after studies.
If you have the money and ready to invest in just education then you can come. If your plan is to stay back, it is better to consider other countries that can give documentation easier without having to waste huge resources. I don’t think the bolded is true.. https://www.cicnews.com/2023/12/breaking-canada-holds-first-express-entry-draw-since-october-2023-1240768.html?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter-20231208#gs.1c5mxwWhile the immigration level plan has increased for 2024 and 2026 by the governmenthttps://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/supplementary-immigration-levels-2024-2026.html

askarachi: UPDATE!!!!!
Starting January 1, 2024, the cost-of-living financial requirement for study permit applicants will be raised to ensure that international students are better prepared for life in Canada. This threshold will be adjusted each year, similarly to other immigration programs. Learn more: canada.ca/en/immigration…
For 2024, a single applicant will need to show they have $20,635 in addition to their first year of tuition and travel costs. This change will apply to new study permit applications received on or after January 1, 2024.
In addition, Minister Miller has provided an update on three temporary policies that were set to expire at the end of 2023, including the following:
· International students already in Canada, as well as applicants who have already submitted an application for a study permit as of December 7, 2023, will be able to work off-campus for more than 20 hours per week until April 30, 2024.
· The measure that has allowed international students to count time spent studying online towards the length of a future post-graduation work permit, as long as it constitutes less than 50% of the program of study, will continue to be in place for students who begin a study program before September 1, 2024.
· A temporary policy was introduced on three occasions to provide an additional 18-month work permit to post-graduation work permit holders as their initial work permit was expiring. Foreign nationals with a post-graduation work permit expiring up to December 31, 2023, remain eligible to apply. However, this temporary policy will not be extended further.
Source - @CitImmCanada on X Some employers and students already in Canada protested to retain more than 20hours work per week from government may have caused financial requirements increased..since they claimed 20hours work per week is not enough.. Even if you can apply from there, his application will be taken back to the visa office that are in charge of processing applications from his country of residence . So, its best he applies from his end . It will end in praise The bolded sounds like a good advice However study permit extension in Canada processing time can take 4 to 5 months to finish that means the hubby has to wait..for her study permit to be approved before the hubby application is submitted outside canada..if she is a continuing student IRCC will issue permit on length of program stated on enrollment letter.. permit start counting from the date previous permit expires!! If they apply together IRCC will start processing her hubby application outside Canada will likely complete his background check before the time study permit is approved ..then wait for the study permit to be approved to issue visa to the spouse this will save time in future application..the hubby can even do upfront medical exam in the process.. Kenny4real68: APPLICATION REFUSED!!! September 12th applicant
Reason: only based on financial situation
Sponsor: Uncle and myself as co-sponsor
Uncle Paid full tuition of $18,789 cad. ( note my program is one year PGC)
I have $6,000 usd in my Dom saving acc.
I also submitted my Naira account with about 18 million. ( though I have 8 million lump sum which I explained in my sop was sent by my uncle (sponsor) for living expenses. I even included evidence of transaction.
My sponsor submitted his company bank statement with closing balance of around 13 million , inflow 400 million and outflow out flow about 397 million
Now with all dis, how on earth was I refused based on financial status. Could it be the officer that handled my application was having a bad day or could it be the officer made mistake. I have seen people on this trend get refused, and they reapplied with same exact document and get approved.
My program is for January, I am thinking of reapplying, please any idea of what can be done different this time around. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated Your uncle should come in as co sponsor with his personal bank statements provide the account number and bank to be used as evidence in SOP ..the company account as source of funds only.. You stated that your uncle paid full tuition provide evidence of that transactions... You have 18million in personal bank statement minus 8million lump sum = 10Million plus 6000 dollars in dom account 6000 dollars = 8,232 Cad.. 10Million = 16,666 Cad You have total of 24,898 Canadian dollars which can sort maintenance minimum requirements.. You have paid full tuition fees, while you require only to show 10,000Cad minimum for maintenance but you deposited funds to your account as lump sum..the VO will believe the money is for demonstration purposes only.. If you have evidence of tuition payments from Uncle the 8million deposit as lump sum to your account is not necessary.. After the transactions your uncle is left with 13milion in company account = 21,666Cad official bank rate while you have 24,898 Cad excluding the 8million he deposited to you which is 13,333Cad.. You now have 24,898 +13,333=38,231Cad.. While the company inflow is 400milion minus 397million= meaning 3million savings in the past 4months or more.... Lastly.. The application will look like a self sponsor without prove of tuition payments from your uncle . |
