You should be able to prove dual intent since you have permanent resident applications submitted already for them to IRCC,Temporary residents are required to leave Canada at the end of stay.

Nothing is free.

The government, the school anyone who tells you something is free...you are paying for it more than you realize. Take the bus pass, for example. You might pay around $120 for a 4-month term in a small city. You can always check your fee breakdown.

Some days, you will need to be somewhere on time, so you will use an Uber...like going to a job after class. You can not wait for the bus if it’s too slow, so you will need a ride. An Uber can easily cost $30 $40 for a quick 20–30 minute trip. That’s part of what your job income will go toward.

Also, in smaller cities, some jobs arenot well connected by public transit. You might take a bus part of the way and then use Uber to finish the trip. so I am confident in what I am saying.....

From what i know monthly bus for adults is 102 dollars per month and post secondary is 65 dollars per month,school charge 55 dollars per term for bus pass and one term is 4 months do the math...

If you plan your schedule with your job and school you will not spend 30 to 40 dollars on uber, get a job schedule that give you enough time after classes ..

You will spend on food and housing without paying full amount of school fees,if you have poor schedule plan and will go to that foreign account and withdraw funds to support...

I know 3 single students who paid their school fees with part time jobs, full time when college is on brake...
But this students did only 1 year college program 18k tuition fees ,house rent of about 500 for one room apartment per month..
2 have completed the course working in demand occupation and already got pgwp waiting for ita in pnp nominations...
The other one has manuerverd her way to pnp nominations and have applied for permanent residence she is healthcare practioner back home..she pay upto 1k for 2 rooms apartment but rent the other room out..

The problem is when students apply for 3 to 4 year program in big expensive cities like ontario and expecting to pay tuition fees with part time jobs .

However I know other student who couldn't get a job or even pay tuition fees with part time jobs or maintain the study permit and they dropped out..

Haha! You’re completely wrong about that. I’ve seen people receive visa extensions even after their PGWP expired, and also after completing programs that were not eligible for PGWP. In many of these cases, they were issued a one-year visitor record. The problem, however, is that with a visitor record they are allowed to stay in Canada but cannot work.

If we dont get any better option before then. We can explore that. Till a company is able to get LMIA for her.

Meanwhile you said LMIA has casted. How , was there any update from IRCC about that, please share. Give reason why you said it wouldnt work smoothly when you are not IRCC

IRCC is gradually relaxing lmia processing in some regions with unemployment rate below 6%....
And some sectors has no cap on lmia processing...
In April 2026 lmia processing will increase in rural areas from 10% to 15% for low wage,due to low admission of TFWs to support employers in rural areas and those regions that will participate...

There is some cases where students got nominations in pnp and recommendations in RCIP with job offer from their employers before completing their studies for previous work experience in demand occupations they applied for PR before study permit expires..
Note:work experience as a student does not count in PNP.

The problem with cases like this is that you’re not explaining your particular situation clearly, which makes it difficult for anyone to give you a “magical” figure, to be honest.

This is roughly how IRCC will view your case for Personl Annual Living Cost (CAD) No fees included:

Main applicant (student) $20,635 +Spouse / Partner + First child + Second child
Total Living Cost $42,543 CAD/year (minus your tuition fees)

So, if your tuition fee is around $35,000 CAD for the entire program,

you’re looking at a minimum of $77,543 CAD to show as proof of funds... remember, that’s the minimum.

But since you’re coming from Nigeria, where the rejection rate is very high, you’ll need to show more funds than the usual applicant, especially since you’re bringing your family.

Now, I need you to ask yourself these tough questions

Is it better to go alone first, get settled, and then invite your family later?
Let’s be honest... unless you’re coming as a Permanent Resident (PR), bringing your entire family on a study route isn’t as easy as it used to be between 2016 and 2021.

Canada is expensive, and the current government knows this....they’re cutting back on benefits and handouts.

(4) Will your spouse qualify for a work permit? (7) Will your spouse’s work permit realistically allow them to find work quickly, or will that drain your savings?

( 8 ) What type of jobs can your spouse realistically get-- part-time or full-time?

(9) What’s the cost of childcare or schooling for kids (often $700–$1,500/month per child)? Also, what type of health insurance will cover your children?

(10) Will your Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) lead to Permanent Residency (PR) later? Because if not, honestly — it might not be worth it if you calculate your CRS score and even with studying and working in Canada for a Year you are not in 490

That statistics of Canada study permit rejection rate is no longer current, India study permit rejection rate is currently at 74% percent.

Canada will undertake a new program to transition up to 33,000 work permit holders to permanent residence over 2026 and 2027 in the upcoming Immigration Levels Plan, according to Budget 2025.


The Plan will also include several other major changes:

Reducing the temporary resident admissions target for 2026 to 385,000, down 43% from 673,650 for 2025.
The target for international student admissions for 2026 will be 155,000, down 49% from 305,900 for 2025.

First: asked to address my wife(primary applicant) to clarify the profession on our marriage certificate, the profession doesn't correlate with her NOC, and it didn't cross our eyes since we had been married for a while now.

Secondly: we were asked to clarify the NOC of our previous profile. We'd opened a profile for trade briefly last year and deleted then re-entered for healthcare this year. The VO asked why we never mention this new foreign experience in the previous interest

You don't need so much really, pack your essentials, personal belongings, sort temporary accommodation if you can't get permanent one before landing. People talk about packing food, I disagree with that because there is everything in Canada, you just need to know the name it's called in English and where to get some in Asian stores and African stores. The immigration and welcome process should be easy. The airport people are usually very helpful.

You can use Service Canada desk in the airport once you land and finish with Immigration to get your SIN immediately. We did that. You can even open your bank account at the airport also, if you go to the city, you may require to book appointment.

Everything you need will be given to you, You can also use the ARRIVECAN APP. If you have specifics, you may ask.

I will disagree with you on food packing Unless you have a job already before arriving in Canada or enough Canadian dollars to spend on african food in african stores,it is Better to pack as much food as a new arrival in canada especially if you are coming with your family,for example 100grams of crayfish is 9dollars and red shrimp 150 grams that is 14 dollars in canada ,one painter of crayfish is about 8000 to10,000 naira,coming with one painter of crayfish to canada from Nigeria would have saved the person 150 to 200 dollars..this is for crayfish alone,imagine all your food pack could save 1000 dollars,instead of patronising folks doing food cargo, using it as side hustle in canada ..

Is Express entry still a viable option? Even people in Canada are finding it hard to meet the high scores. Lots of people are going back home to get foreign work experience for more score points. If you’re outside Canada, the best shot right now is to learn French if you can.

Now they want to kill the only good PNP program in Saskatchewan—the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
