Inability to get PR after expiration of post graduate work permit. Students in Canada right now are about 1.8m, total economic PR slots per year about 500k plus. Many wont be able to get PR.

Canada of pre covid is not the Canada of now as regards student visa/ ease of PR.

Good day everyone, quick question please, I’m in Canada already and my study permit is suppose to expire by December, but I got into my main program now, and co-op letter was attached to my program, the question is; can I send my new admission letter and the co-op letter to IRCC through webform for it to be updated, or should I just apply for a study permit extension with this new admission letter and co-op letter now, even though my permit will expire December and I need to extend by November?

I was partially returned because I made the report personally. My passport had expired and I had no way of returning. IRCC took it from there, they didn't give me a removal order or any documents but I was detained and then a travel document and flight ticket was brought for my trip. I was accompanied by 3 officials all the way to Nigeria.

I was not on a work permit. I was on a study permit which I switched to a visitor's visa - probably why the situation didn't escalate to a deportation.

The work was during the summer. There's 4-5 months of fulltime work each year.

Is credit a factor calculated towards the CRS score?

Enter the express entry pool immediately if you haven't done so. This is a good score. The last general score was 529. You are also eligible for CEC, last score was 510 I believe.

I applied for CIMT college Canada for PSW ( 6 months course) and I got admission with instructions to pay 550 cad that when acceptance letter will be issued. Have paid the 550 cad and acceptance letter is issued and I need guidelines on what next to do. Thought have been denied visitor visa before so I got my biometrics. Thanks

Even IRCC themselves know they are only acting on our "Japa gullibility" to demand unnecessary source of fund documentation. There is a limit to which a VO can have access to people's privacy. Why is it that all these uneccessary source of fund documentation they ask for is only applicable to Temporary resident visa applicants and not permanent resident visa.

This is one of the reason some applicants falsify and tell huge lies to convince VO, and the country keep admitting liars as residents even their citizens can't bear it any longer

People are staying 1 year in Canada without jobs. I mean permanent residents. I have friends, ex-colleagues who are permanent residents in Canada and they have all complained. Bros, if you don't have money for the Proof of funds, please don't go there. The cost of living is very high. That was why Canada increased the POF to 20k. Of course, it's better place than Nigeria, but prepare yourself mentally to face a completely different system with no jobs and high cost of living. To japa good, but to japa with a plan and enough money is the best. I had to mentally prepare myself before I decided to enter this study visa route.

To the seniors who made it via Manitoba PNP i have been on this thread since last year and no one as given me any answers.

I got my LAA from Manitoba in December 2023 and i have done everything asked by February 2024. So my question goes

1. How long does it take for me to get a response? It says 6 months on their website.

2. If they are to make a contact is it to my relative or me ( if i am contacted is it by calls or email)

Not trying to discourage you but I'm not sure you will get any nomination with the sales manager role/administrative assistant if u do not

1. Have a sibling residing in a province that does sibling nomination (eg if u av a sibling that has lived in manitoba for over a yr). He or she can nominate you, which gives u an extra 600 points.

2. You might even qualify for the general draw if age is on ur side, ie. If u are under under 30, and have a sibling as a permanent residency holder and also have masters and french with perfect IELTS score. Then ur NOC shouldn't be an issue (i.e sales manger or administrative assistant will be ok)

If both options don't fit ur profile, you might consider going through the trending category draw that canada launched last year (I'm referring to Stem, Agriculture, Transportation, French and Health Care. Try and see if either of the five is workable for you.

I do not think this is a correct information. As a rule of thumb, always verify your information with IRCC website or their X handle. I have seen the article being circulated but it is not true.

It highly depends on what you want from the country. I can't recommend anything specific, but I advise against going for a one-year program unless you have a serious plan for obtaining your PR after working for one year. Remember, schooling for one year will get you a one-year work permit, and it's difficult to get a job right out of school unless you are highly proactive.

It typically takes an average of 4 to 6 months to secure a job. Life after school is difficult without a plan; the country isn't the same as it used to be, 2015 to 2022 Golden immigration years in Canada so you need a serious plan.

For tech jobs like software development, product manager, program manager, business analyst, software engineer, automation system engineer, or system DevOps engineer, you will have better job prospects.

I can't recommend anything specific, but be aware that Justin Trudeau will be out of power by October 20, 2025, and the new conservative government might not be as kind to immigration as the current administration.

As of today, you can get a PGWP as long as your school is approved by the government. I can't remember the exact name, but it's better to do a Master's degree if you have a BSc from Nigeria.

A lot of things are changing daily with immigration, so plan for life after school because the country isn't as welcoming as before.

That's my honest opinion.

I Submitted reapplication on the 29th of May, I was given a new uci number, my medical has been updated to paased, many people said I should not bother sending webform, while others said I should send webform. I sent webform and also call IRCC on the 20th of June, my question are;
1. Will I be inform that my UCI number as been link
2 There is no biometric information in
this my new application, Should it be updated?
3. Is it possible that they are working on my application without biometric update and with a different UCI number

I submitted my application on the 29th of May, 2024. I was refused in feb 2021, so I change the name on my passport, but I noticed my iuc number is different from the previous iuc number, am given a new uci number, I call ircc call center but was told they have forwarded my complain via mail, but nothing change on my portal till now

You can't predict IRCC @ the moment..
Express entry draws are now more focused on domestic candidates for PR..in 🇨🇦 canada candidates,including CEC and CRS scores are very high @ 522 for last CEC.. and draws included those nominated through PNP- EE draws..Since canada planned to reduce temporary resident in canada by 5 % and to cap temporary resident arrivals by september 2024 ..discussed in province and territories meeting with canada immigration minister on 10th may 2024.
The EE draws to include international candidates is uncertain at the moment!l last express entry draws was 24th April 2024.
